Game week thread - Chiefs at Bills (Video preview on pg. 19)
Roundybout replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean this in the nicest of ways, I didn’t know Fergie was still alive -
I think they let him walk because they didn’t want to pay (rightly) what he would have demanded (and got) in the open market. if he’d been prepared to sign for 3m a year I don’t think he’d have ever left. I also think he wasn’t healthy in his final season with us, and whilst that doesn’t excuse bad route running it also meant he didn’t have a chance to show us the good things he can do (and did in years previous) so people just remember him for being bad which I don’t think is entirely fair

The Bills have been trying to win with defense for the vast majority of the last 30 years, with very limited success. That includes the #1 defense in yards and points getting steamrolled for 42 by KC in the playoffs after the 2021 season. Or the 2003 and 2004 seasons, with top 2 defenses by yards allowed, with the Bills finishing 15-17, including an embarrassing 29 points allowed to Pittsburgh's backups with a chance at the playoffs on the line. Five straight years starting in 1996 with top 10 defenses in terms of yards allowed, missing the playoffs twice, first round exits three times. This team is very creative. They've thoroughly proven that there are multiple ways to lose.

At my work, my company has a competition for pumpkin decorating. One of my colleagues did this amazing Blue Jays pumpkin. Just wanted to share it here with all of you. Go Jays!

The championship won't be enough. It will never be enough.

The Bengals did go to a Super Bowl and while Barkley was the key to the Eagles championship season, they still had a very strong team on both sides of the ball. As for the Bills they need more than Allen and Cook on offense. The need to upgrade at WR is something that needs to be done if the Bills want to get to and finally win a Super Bowl.

Fascinating. Anything you might be able to share regarding the claim “Vance openly hates his wife’s religion”? It sounds kind of hysterical on your part and completely on-brand, but I’m certainly willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Please help me. -

Not even remotely accurate. Rice is KC best receiver. Rice is top 10-15 in league, maybe higher. Kelce is a shell of his former self now. He topped out at 15mph on long jaunt vs WSH, vs 20+ last time they won SB. This is likely last time Kelce will be seen at OP. -

Ed Oliver bicep injury - likely out regular season

I’m a big MMA fan too, and you sir have been watching the Joe Rogan podcast 😉😂 Joel Romero still looks like a Greek God at 50 or whatever age he is, Ed Oliver looks like fatass Greek philosopher Socrates so I don’t hold on to much hope that he has similar healing genes 😂 -

It wasn't just the drops, it was the bad routes and miscommunications with Allen that led to about half a dozen INTs his last season here. We all knew the guy was never going to be a decent WR2, which is why we let him walk. Maybe he can be a positive contributor in a smaller role this season -

I do agree here. The value the Bills put of run blocking WRs may be higher than any other team. I do think they need to readjust their thinking a bit. With what Hawes brings to the table as well as Kincaid improving as a blocker running 2 or 3 TE sets is, I believe, our best group personnel wise. The trick is that those WRs that run block well HAVE to also be adept at getting open and catching the ball because if they aren't it tips off that a run play is coming when they are on the field. Gabe can do that. Mack did that. Keon struggles at it. Shavers struggles at that. -
100% Josh has never been a great deep ball thrower. Even many of his big downfield completions have resulted in players having to slow down, reposition, jump for the ball. It's not like watching prime Brady/Rodgers where he hits his man in stride on a Go and he runs the rest of the way in for a TD. On intermediate routes and in the redzone he's deadly, but the whole time people have been clamoring for a "deep threat", I've been wondering what exactly they're expecting us to do with them.
-
I dont think anybody is asking for a deep ball attack from this team. The most impressive tool in Josh 's game is the intermediate lazers. I get defenses bottling deep stuff away from us... we cant willingly let them bottle us up to a 5yds or less pass system. Got to find a way to make teams respect more of the field

Week 9, Chefs v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
corta765 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills 23 Chiefs 19 ******** IF PALMER PLAYS... IF HE DOES NOT PLAY CHIEFS 24 BILLS 20 ******* I see a lot of high scores being predicted but this feels decidedly like the 2023 year where both teams will only show certain things on film and at this point KC/BUF is a divisional level game with how frequently they play. Both teams are enormously prideful and I can tell you that matters big time as neither wants to give an inch. Buffalo's defense despite its issues will want to put its best out and while Oliver is gone the rest of the defense is healing plus McD seems to be calling the plays which he has had success with. Anyhoo long story short I honestly think this game hinges on if Palmer is playing or not because Buffalo will want to run the ball to control the game, but KC can adjust their D a lot of Palmer is not there as an outside threat. If he is there and to a lesser degree Gabe Davis plays I think the Bills do enough to make the game how they want it. If he doesn't play I think the Chiefs are able to stall the Bills offense enough that they make more plays and the Bills are playing catch up to the point KC has the ball last and can run the clock out as the Bills offense ends up having to settle for FG's over TD's which decides the game. -

Vance openly hates his wife’s religion and tries to hide it (describing her as “agnostic”) because he knows the rabid barn animals that make up the new online right will rip him apart even more than they already have for marrying a Hindu. He’s also going to have to explain why manufacturing jobs continue to plunge despite the MAGA ideology. -

Keon seems like a really good run blocker to me so he’ll probably get a pretty long leash. Obviously you can’t keep a guy like that around too long if he gives you nothing in the passing game though but I’d expect him to keep getting snaps this regular season at least. Funny enough I feel like Gabe was kinda the same deal haha Gabe would honestly probably still be here on his first stint if there wasn’t a team that would overpay him I don’t think fans take wr run blocking seriously but the bills definitely seem to…I don’t think it’s by chance they’ve had Gabe, Mack hollins and Keon the last few years -
Where's the Offensive Holding penalty, we're playing the Chiefs ?
