  2. I think theres a bit of correlation=/= causation here. All your points dont add up to an indictment of the RB position as much as they are knocks on individual situations or team problems. Mixon is old, Cook is not. Taylor is often injured because Indy has nothing else on offense, and no QB (let alone the league MVP). Pittsburgh is a team in flux who looks to be actively setting up their first tank ever. All of them had far more on their shoulders and took a much larger brunt of carrying the offense and being ran into the ground. The argument posters make about Cook only getting 50% of the snaps is a feature of our Offense and Team, not a bug/issue. It will only serve to keep him fresh and running longer. And even at 50%, he is the largest piece of our Offense outside of Josh. Cook had 207 rushing attempts 32 receptions last year. He got the ball 239 times. The next most utilized player is Shakir with 76 receptions. Not even 1/3rd of Cooks touches.
  3. I don't understand how Baltimore is leading the vote when Allen's Bills still haven't gotten past Chiefs. It's now become its own narrative. What's it going to take for folks to wake up? Five straight losses to them in playoffs? Six? It's Chiefs until it isn't.
  4. They asked Max the same question and he said Mahomes. I don't think any of us are saying that's a sign of disrespect, just that he wants to make a huge contribution in a huge game against the best opponent
  5. I remember the season finale when the Bills played the Jets at Giants Stadium. The Bills won 37-0 and I believe this was the last game Joe Walton coached the Jets as he was fired soon after. The game was sold out and shown on local TV but only 21,148 showed up and I was one of them. It was so easy to get in and out of the Meadowlands that day with such a small crowd.
  6. tell this guy to get in line. who doesn't want to intercept Josh Allen. AND keep that ball too. HA
  7. Best drafts are when value meets need. Sometimes Buffalo drafts need over value and that is where I get concerned. Elam was a consensus day 2 pick and was a poor pick. It was a massive need but the guy who they saw as late day 2 early day 3 pick was still there in the 6th won the job. Trust the evaluation. Cant fill a need trade down or pick the best player on the board. Injuries happen all the time and competition is good. I felt this draft they got value at needs. Cant argue the thought process.
  8. They were 4-7 with Johnson, though.
  9. As I understand it, the convo went like this. Starks was asked which NFL he was looking forward to picking off the most. "I think I want to get Josh Allen," Starks said. "I want to get Josh Allen, it would just be fun and a really cool moment for me." And you folks think Josh takes offense or gets angry? Zero chance. Our first rounder was asked the same exact question and said Mahomes and Lamar. Think they're furious at Max? Again, zero chance. This is a nothingburger. Ramsey I would guess pissed him off. Ramsey was trying to shake him. Very much didn't.
  10. Every other DB, Safety, and LB in the league does as well. Even Hairston said he was going to keep the ball that he intercepts from Allen. So what's the big deal?
  11. this is a great post because it makes clear my original thoughts much better than I did originally. BINGO matey. And he deserving to be paid for the wear and tear a position like that takes on his body he deserves as much bank as he can get. Agreed. Get it done Beane! the money and the salary cap and such are numbers constantly manipulated. I suck at math so I don't comment on it. And I honestly don't care HOW it is done. I just want the best roster possible and please don't let prime assets walk. period. m
  12. Ok Grasshopper. In the AFC Championship game, in the Superbowl, I want Josh to have weapons galore, enabling success. I do not want to see Dalton flailing for a heroic throw, nor Diggs dropping the deep pass from Josh, or offense being crap against Cincy or any of our other offensive failures that ended our playoffs year after year. How can you be against that? league’s change year to year, and it don’t matter what you did last season. Why would you not want the Bills offense to be improved ?
  13. Well until proven otherwise....KC. I actually believe beating them during the season helps KC more than us. They look at what they did wrong and correct it. Whereas the Bills just think what they did during the season will carryover to the postseason. Am I crazy to think losing to them during the season might benefit us?
  14. feel like this is why paying RBs is a bad idea. Three years ago, JT was maybe the best back in football. Now, maybe Cook is in that top 5. things just change so fast at the position. The top 5 leading rushers in 2021 were Taylor, Chubb, Mixon, Cook and Najee. 2 are out of the league or almost out, Mixon (old) and Taylor (hurt often) are overpaid, and Najee was let go by the team that drafted him in the first. By 2027, imo the chance Cook is still a premier back is extremely low.
  15. They aren't fading until proven otherwise but their division is getting tougher. Hopefully someone in that division can knock them down to WC status. Harbaugh will build a team that will eventually challenge them. They made the playoffs in his first year there. Can they take the division from them this year. I don't know but they will sometime soon. IMHO
  16. Looks like sent went a message and got what he wanted, the first American Pope! While we're talking "disrespectful," have you seen how Chicagoans immediately responded?
  17. I was hoping someone would finally start a thread where we could discuss this. Thank you for your service!
  18. Henry's contract is an anomaly that yall need to get over. It isnt a market value contract. He is in his 30s. Additionally, his cap hit this year is $13M, so already much closer to what we're talking about for Cook. And the Ravens are now the top spenders at the RB position in the entire league. Just like no one is asking Cook to be paid like Barkley who is above $20M/yr. But Cook is arguably better than Jonathan Taylor who is making more than $15M this year.
  19. Stats without context really fail to show the whole story. While Herbert did, in fact throw for more yards than Allen last year, (a whopping 139 more yards to be exact) let's not forget that Allen basically sat out the entire game the final week against New England, was taken out of several games early due to the score (about another full game give or take in total) and that the Chargers were often throwing later in games due to being behind. This also accounts for the Bills running for about 400 more yards as they were in game wind down mode later in games way more than LA. Not to mention Allen is far more mobile and a threat to run. That will almost always result in higher rushing totals for a team.
  20. And you endless ranting is foolhardy. We lead the league in scoring. Give it up. How good are the Raiders? @Pete If the Bills win the SB with this group of WRs would that change your mind?
