Ross Tucker interview of Michael Hoecht
hondo in seattle replied to Commish's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have a different viewpoint. As an Army officer, I once took an oath to not lie, cheat, or steal; nor tolerate those who do. To paraphrase Kant's 'categorical imperative' a bit: we should all act in a way that we would want everyone to act. And the world would be a better place if none of us lied, cheated, or stole. And yet, from a practical standpoint, it does seem to be true that the people who deflect and deny fare better than the small minority that doesn't. Sadly, the pragmatist's approach generally provides better outcomes. -
Will Josh be at OTAs this week?

I’m sure the rules are a little different when you’re pulling in $55 million a year. 😂 -
OKAY !

I tend to apply Occam's razor to these questions. Musk and Booker both have been public figures for quite some time. Based on everything they've said and done over the years what are the odds that either one of them is secretly a Nazi, and then outed themselves in spectacular fashion in front of large audiences? Somewhere in the neighborhood of zero point zero is my guess.
-
He hasn't stated anything and it's been a week. His first public comments since the boat episode is some drama at Cardi B's ex. I could easily see them cutting him and I hope they do. F the Pats.

This is just a clickbait article by PFT, as usual. No concrete evidence is given that potential replacements have been forced out. The article only states: "At this point, there’s a generally-accepted belief in league circles that the folks who end up being long-term high-level executives at 345 Park Avenue are not regarded by the captain as viable candidates to take the helm." Until there is more, this is a nothing-burger. Move on.
-
Of course it’s a lie and everyone, especially the players, know it. No one wants to be the guy to come out and tell the truth - that the league is dependent on supplements to grow bigger and stronger players which has become a runaway train. It will take a tragedy to get someone to come out and tell the truth. Until then, you’ll keep hearing the same lie anytime someone gets caught.

He's also 34-35 at a position where you get your ankles and knees chopped at constantly. He seems a lot slower than even 2 years ago.

lmao THEY were very nice to me. I have genuine amethysts to prove it 🙂 TCK :-)

Happy Pride Month!

Cool... I guess I am now one of the "Me Too" peeps! I walked into a convenience store this morning to pick something up on the way home and the first thing I saw inside the doorway was a giant display full of Pride Month crap... I turned around and walked right back out. And I will never go back to ANY store belonging to that particular chain again! -
Cory Booker: NAZI!!!!!
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You didn’t ask me but on rare occasions I offer my thoughts on subjects. You might have noticed. On optics, sure, sometimes it matters. When and where, beyond the obvious situations we reasonable folk probably agree on, it’s hard for me to generate much outrage on issues like this just because some political/media hack says I should. If I follow the path of least resistance, I have to be outraged at Elon Musk and simultaneously be outraged at Corey Booker for sending Nazi signals to followers at the edge of civilized society. Why? Because someone told me to be outraged. If I’m not mistaken, before you flipped off the country of Brazil with your vulgar antics, a movement was afoot to outlaw the ok sign here. Meant something to someone, we were told. Oh—and I’m the cynical type, but I would not be surprised to hear that both Musk and Booker used the same gesture for political effect to get tongues wagging. Be nice to Brazilians! -
I understand where you are coming from with your ideas. But disagree somewhat. Edmunds was certainly overdrafted. And is now overpaid. He is just not a very good NFL football player. I would not say he is Baylon Spector. But he certainly is not a difference maker. And glad we did not give him another contract. Rousseau is a solid player. His length helps in knocking down passes at the line of scrimmage. He needs to be good to very good more often. He is never going to be great, because he does not have great explosive athletic traits. I understand what the going rate is for good DE's. And am glad we resigned Rousseau. I am glad we resigned Bernard. I think when healthy he is an excellent LB. Too much talk on what a premium position is versus "non premium". You need good players all over your roster. The more good players you have, the better your team should be. If our LB's are lousy, then the defense is lousy. You can't have any weaknesses at a specific position if you can help it. Doesn't matter the position. If your Guards are lousy, then your O line is lousy, even if you have 2 all pros at Tackle and a great Center. Need good players across the roster. Don't need pro bowl guys at every position. But you can't have guys like Kair Elam starting for you. Because they will get exposed.

I don't think this is "made up BS" the talk is real.. that being said I agree with second bolded.. 0%

my point remains though. A persons inner motive may or may not be what you think it is which is why I posted examples. He may be a total nazi loving douche for all I know. Maybe he isn't why a person is so quick to defend a person they really don't know is a bit suspect IMO I know people trust that media shapes our opinions. DUH of courrse it does.l BOTH SIDES as much as one person points the finger at one person your thump is pointing back at you. See what I did there? Hmmm

I agree and wish that the Bills would stay neutral. I know a couple of LGBT people who do not appreciate the holiday because they want their lives to be private and think that it brings undue negative attention, so it definitely not just a conservative thing. I feel like the excessive push back from some on the right only taunts them to flaunt things as grossly as possible. I see less overall clashing than other years and it is already less in your face as it was during the COVID toxic conformity era, that is why I go by the "ignore it" strategy. On facebook, I just use the snooze for 30 days. June has 30 days and we are back to normal after that. -

I think its also a very weird, very poorly regulated market. They regulate supplements like they are food, not medicine. So the actual use and effectiveness is measured by the manufacturer, and its also pretty easy to just put whatever you want in it and leave it off the label. End of the day - he didn't go to a team doctor to ask for their recommendation about whether something unapproved was in the product he was using. I found this quote to be kind of interesting though: FDA does test some dietary supplements but we’re talking about a marketplace of over 100,000 products and we have limited resources to analyze the composition of dietary supplements. Because of this, we focus our resources first on public health emergencies and products that may have caused injury or illness. At that point, we prioritize products that we suspect to be adulterated, fraudulent, or otherwise in violation of the law. The remaining resources are used to analyze product samples collected during inspections of manufacturing facilities or pulled from store shelves as part of FDA’s routine monitoring of the marketplace. FDA does not test dietary supplements before they are sold to consumers. If consumers would like an analysis of a product’s content, they may contact the dietary supplement manufacturer or a commercial laboratory on their own. https://www.fda.gov/drugs/news-events-human-drugs/fdas-regulation-dietary-supplements-dr-cara-welch -
Will Josh be at OTAs this week?
Beck Water replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Winner! They got engaged last fall. Pretty sure they chose the wedding date with her existing schedule in mind and she negotiated any future activities around the plans. I agree it makes a lot of sense to go to OTAs and mandatory, then honeymoon in the dead time - if for no other reason than every paparazzi in the world is on high alert to uncover and pester a honeymoon trip right after the wedding, so why not wait a bit and try to throw them off the scent? -
Who was invited to Josh and Hailee's wedding?
Beck Water replied to Willie West's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was it sarcasm? If sincere, that seems odd given it appears to be a relatively small wedding and it doesn't look like a large number of Bills players were there (Knox, Shakir, Dion, Spencer Brown who I've seen so far - I would expect the entire OL was invited) You got a NFL superstar and a movie star getting married, they either have to limit the guest list hard, or they have to invite hundreds and hundreds. -

Who cares? wasn't an option so I didn't vote either.

The optics and narrative are shaped by the media. Musk? Nazi. Booker? Crickets at best, hilariously stupid closed vs open fingers hand waving BS at worst. Meanwhile neither one of them are nazis. Anyone who thinks that Booker is actually a nazi is just as stupid as someone who think that Elon is. Have you ever actually seen the full context of Elon's "nazi" salute? It took me quite a while to find this clip because searching X for "Musk heart goes out to you" results primarily in clips of the gesture only with those words conveniently edited out.

Beck Water replied to Willie West's topic in The Stadium Wall
I got to give Josh and Hailey's people credit, there are normally a bunch of social media posts and so forth that have come out from a player's wedding within a couple days. All we have so far are a handful of telephoto shots that all the news outlets are sharing. They've resorted to padding their articles with photos of the couple from their engagement, NFL Honors and entertainment events. If the Bills make it to the Superbowl they should hire the same security team to lock down their game plan and practices. -

It was a miserable play call.
