Some that haven’t been mentioned: Arrow Up: Cam Lewis- I thought he tackled well and showed enough that he can be reliable in that safety role while offering some versatility at nickel. Lundt - thought he was solid in pass pro and had some good run blocks, primary at LT. Idk if there is a spot for him without having versatility. Seems athletic enough that I wonder if there is a future there for him as 6OL Arrow Down: Ulofoshio - with Specture being released I thought he had a shot to push for the 53 again this year but it appears he is down the depth chart behind Keonte Jenkins. Does he give enough on ST? Ja’Marcus Ingram - Another guy that appears buried down the charts behind the likes of Te’Corey couch. With Dane and Tre additions, I’d say he isn’t likely for the 53.

I don’t know if I’d lose sleep over CB2 being a weakness on the team.. But I 100 percent know that Christian Benford is the most important player on this team not named Josh Allen. Both our Safeties were out today. There was zero game planning. Tre will ramp it up and give us a solid CB 2 role. But it is frustrating to see some of our familiar issues on D lingering - no pass rush, can’t get off the field on 3rd and long, can’t recognize a freaking screen. PRESEASON PLEDGE! Not going to overreact. Merely these are observations not judgement lol. Still believe the D will be significantly better.

Who's the Backup at Center then? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not seeing any Center experience for David Edwards, O'Cyrus Torrence, Alec Anderson, Tylan Grable, Ryan Van Demark, or Chase Lundt.

This feels very frantic, anxious, and not how football works. There's a lot of calls to be mad at. Picking up a bad flag during preseason is the absolute worst football related thing to be mad at in the history of football. Enjoy the weekend, football is back, today was meaningless outside of seeing some film on some fringe players.

I think they're both fine as #2 and #3 in NFL. Never want Josh out, but I think we could maybe play .500 for 2-4 weeks with them. All you can ask for in a backup IMO. 2. Trubisky 3. White

I can't disagree. I too would feel more comfortable if we had 2 All Pro level safeties playing behind him. Mask more of the physical limitations he has these days. But, unfortunately, we have what we have. It's going to be up to the staff to scheme him some extra help sometimes and the pass rush to make sure he doesn't have to cover for too long.

The contracts really say it all to me. If Trubisky is cut, there's a 1.75m Dead Cap hit and 1.5m savings. If White is cut, there's no Dead Cap hit (as he has no guarantees in his contract) and 1.2m in savings. So in my mind, White would have to so clearly beat Trubisky that they're willing to pay White and pay Trubisky what he's owed. Also, and this may be a minor or major thing, Trubisky was one of the players that Josh invited to his wedding. So it's clear he and Josh are friends and he'd probably prefer his friend with him in the QB room.

John Elway is the closest and truest comparison. I also see Ben Roethlisberger, just more mobile and faster.
