  1. Past hour
  2. “Joe and I have already talked about that to some extent today. It’s important to keep in mind going forward,” McDermott said, via Justin Siejak of News4Buffalo. Cook was not on the field for any of the team’s third-down snaps, including a third-and-one the Bills failed to convert when an end around to wide receiver Elijah Moore fizzled out. McDermott said he’s confident in Brady’s work calling plays, but that “whatever play we call we call, we have to execute it at a higher level.” https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/sean-mcdermott-spoke-to-oc-joe-brady-about-james-cooks-usage-monday-night
  3. I thought he would be a very good contested catch guy. He has not demonstrated that, and when combined with his lack of separation skills, his career may be limited and shortened.
  4. think about what that means tho the Chiefs went 15-2 and made the SB w Mahomes playing like maybe the 7th-10th best QB in the league and we somehow need Allen to play better than MVP caliber to do it that's not a QB issue
  5. 100% this. Can you imagine if Daboll wasnt here to help with evaluating Josh? This isnt about Daboll, but hes 2 for 2 drafting his QBs (Dart looks like the real deal). McD with another GM here next yr --- that would be ideal at this point.
  6. you would think they would learn after trotting out Duke Williams as their wr 1 in a few games. It's like Beane has a Ferrari but wants to put cheap gas in it
  7. What the Bills need is everyone to get healthy, and that includes the 6'2'' WR named Gabe Davis, who is on the practice squad. Then they need to utilize James Cook more than 53% of the offensive snaps. For the love of god, put him out wide for a mismatch on an LBer.
  8. The very first thing this team has to do to move forward is get him off the field. No future game plan should involve him. The forced, low percentage throws are killing drives and momentum.
  9. I am not saying his seat shouldn't be hot, but the reality is Terry loves him, and he has a great W/L record, we are still a leading SB favorite despite being riddled by injuries. So I doubt McD really fears his job right now because I seriously doubt anyone inside the organization is giving him any reason to. To be clear, I am not defending him, I am fully on board making changes if this falls short again. But more commenting on why he probably doesn't fear his job by stating how the ownership and FO see him and likely not giving him any kind of reason to fear for his job, at least not yet.
  10. Odds on favorites after NFL week 6 to go on to win the Super Bowl the last 20 years. 2005 Colts) lost to Pittsburgh in playoffs 2006 Colts ) and Bears. Colts won Super Bowl 2007 New England) lost in Super Bowl to Giants 2008 Giants) lost to Philly in divisional round 2009 Eagles) lost wildcard to Dallas 2010 Colts) lost wildcard to Jets 2011 Packers) lost divisional to Giants 2012 Pats) Lost AFC Championship to Ravens 2013 Denver) Lost Super Bowl to Seattle 2014 Denver, Seattle) Seattle lost to the Pats in Super Bowl 2015 Packers, Pats) Pats lost to Denver AFC championship 2016 Vikings) Missed the playoffs after 5-0 start. 2017 Pats ) Lost Super Bowl to Eagles 2018 Kansas City) Lost in AFC Chmapionship to Pats 2019 Pats, Saints) Pats lost wildcard to Titans 2020 Kansas City) Lost Super Bowl to Tampa Bay 2021 Buffalo) Lost 13 second game 2022 Buffalo) Lost divisional to Cincinnati 2023 49ers) Lost Super Bowl to KC 2024 Kansas City) Lost Super Bowl to Philly Conclusion : This is the Bills 3rd time in the last 5 years being favorites after week 6. Only one time did the odds on favorite after week 6 win it. The Colts in 2006-07 Teams made it to the Super Bowl 8 times. Losing 7 of the 8. Made it at least to AFC championship game 11 times. Only one team missed the playoffs. The Vikings. So you can make it to the Super Bowl but the odds you win it are only 5% based on this 20 year sample. So not likely to win it. I never said it has anything to do with making a good or bad bet my friend. I’m just telling you what they have as odds right now and as of now they still think Buffalo will right the ship per se. Doesn’t mean they are going to win it by any means. It is definitely a bad bet if you take Buffalo or KC for that matter. Only one team has won the Super Bowl after being an odds on favorite after week 6 the last 20 years. So you are getting a 5% chance of winning your wager. So I do agree with you. I didn’t maybe explain it as well as I could have.
  11. Josh's window is still open. Ours is not.
  12. yup fyi this is the one i was talking about. Allen widens Cook presnap and it's there. it's blocked up well, Coleman doesn't get a perfect rub on the LB but this ball needs to go to Cook
  13. We definitely missed the window IF Josh continues to play like he did yesterday. Joe Marino’s all 22 vid showed several plays that left me scratching my head. I don’t think that’s going to happen
  14. Beane's drafting has been awful Worst part is the standard bar is so low we extend marginal starters and collect overpriced scraps in free agency Last year was supposed to be a reset year it just come a year later
  15. A couple big differences this season. First, the level of opponent is tragically low. Last year our skid was against the Ravens (one of the league's best) and Texans (division winner who was still healthy and playing well at the time). The Patriots and Falcons are nowhere near that level. Second, you need to combine the slide with the rest of our performances this season. We haven't had one solid 4-quarter game all year long. The Ravens were steamrolling us for 3 quarters before choking the game away. The Jets are the worst team in the NFL, barely gave an effort, and we were running out clock by late 2nd quarter. We almost lost to the Dolphins and Saints, who have been awful all year. Third, our struggles have not just been a symptom of sloppy/uncharacteristic play (although that has been an element). For instance, we have been consistently the worst tackling team in football (by far) in pretty much every game this year. For six weeks. That isn't something you can just turn around and fix.
  16. Its the same scheme it has always been. Thus isnt a Bobby Babich issue. It wasn't a Leslie Frazer issue either. Mcdermotts defensive scheme is not good against teams with speed.
  17. Yes. I still think McD is a really good coach but I am over it. He wont go out and hire real coordinators, just hires lackeys from within. Whatever they are doing is just not working. Beane has to go with him because he has been mediocre and gets Josh no help. Beane built a decent line but there are like 2-3 difference makers on the entire team, 1 star, and a bunch of role players. This team is undisciplined in penalty's, holding gaps, and tackling. The guy preaches fundamentals but then those fundamentals don't show in games. McD went from one of the more aggressive coaches last year to coaching scared this year, overcompensating for losing some fourth downs against KC. Just yesterday down two scores facing 4th and 3 at mid field he elected to punt. That is 100% the wrong call. Late game mid field and down a score 4th and 5 he again elected to punt. Thats also 100% the wrong decision. This team lacks talent and the talent we have McD is not maximizing. I expect they turn it around after the bye and probably win the division but yet again miss out on the 1 seed. They might even make the AFC champ game but this is not a super bowl caliber team. Its time to stop wasting Josh Allens career. We should have at least 2 super bowl appearances by now. I have always blamed 13 seconds on him but gave it a pass thinking that he would get us over the hump. He isn't getting us over the hump. I like McD and again think he is one of the better coaches in the league but I want to win a super bowl and he aint it.
  18. To your point, the Falcons won the toss, took the ball, and scored a TD.
  19. Poor is one thing, and a lot of that is on the NFL for making rules that are so hard to get right. But the feeling here seems to be the refs and the league is biased against the Bills consistently, even when they win. The fact that you don't recognize that is on you.
  20. I thought it was great also, Adam Zyglis that drew that does great work
  21. They switched from primarily zone to primarily man this season as I understand it. Benford is a bad fit for man hence his falloff.
  22. Id much rather try to play ahead. Our defense is bad bad, but we do have solid pass rush this year, and making a team more 1 dimensional early makes that job easier. we set the tone.
