This might be a controversial take (but it shouldn’t be). If Josh Allen played at the exact same level that Jim Kelly did for his career (top 5ish QB) this Bills team would have no chance. They don’t have enough talent around him. He can’t be “one of the best players in a game.” If he isn’t, “the best player on the field” they aren’t a contender.

SNF: Detroit @ Kansas City (no Bills stuff in this thread please)
Doc Brown replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
If they got assistance from the sky judge on this play on whether this was an illegal formation then the refs broke the rules. I'm not sure if they asked for help from New York or they got a buzz in their ear. If the refs received any assistance from NY the touchdown should've stood even though it was an illegal formation. -
Again, I can prove anything I have said, no matter your stupidity. By the way, did you actually read this post with it's gross grammatical and other errors? I'll challenge again. I never claimed to be a "wine maker." There is a name for that that escapes you. What I stated is that I grow commercial red Bordeaux grapes and sell the product, as well as the Navy pilot stuff. I'll challenge you again. If I can't prove what I said, $10,000 to your favorite charity. If I can, $1000 from you to mine. Put up or shut up.

For those saying “this is what we voted for…”

I tried to find the story but it apparently has been pulled because it is BS -
I don't like it because the average field possession was about the 25 before the dynamic kickoff thing was concocted. Now it's about the 29 both last year and this year. Combine that with the juiced up field goal balls and you don't need very far just to get into field goal range.

We did have John "Smoke" Brown for a year, he could outrun coverage. That first pass to Palmer Monday night was a beauty, would have been a TD if Josh hadn't underthrown it a smidge.

I keep saying this to people around me...we can't expect him to be superman every damn game.
-
I have not been in favor of honestly glorified safeties like I get the change cause its a passing league et al.. they want the speed ... but ours can't use their speed cause they can't get off blocks then Shaq comes in and we all go Holy crap that's what its like to have a LB that can lay the wood down

Defensive holding and illegal contact shouldn't be an automatic first down (sorry if someone already mentioned this, I'm too lazy to read every page)

The only little bit of nuance wiggle room I could imagine is if they thought this was the case or opened the call up to the NFL office. Only if the on-field refs had a discussion and did this would it be almost justifiable. -

The controversy is whether New York assisted the officials in calling the penalty which would be against the rules. A sky judge can't help with an illegal motion penalty like it can with an intentional grounding penalty. Campbell claimed he asked an official about why it took so long to call and the ref said they were getting assistance from New York. The right call was made but New York (sky judge) wasn't allowed to have been involved based on the current rules. Do I think the NFL is trying to fix games for the Chiefs? Absolutely not. Does the NFL need to get its crap together on what can or can't be reviewed by the sky judge on penalties? YES. -
I feel like trading a 3rd during the season causes Beane to chase the pick in the draft somehow...like there is some sunk cost fallacy or something going on
-
I honestly like the new kickoff rule. Injuries are down, there’s some excitement, and over 80% are returned. I think they got this one right.
-
Problem with that is every corner would just grab to not give up a big play. Kind of like fouling in basketball after a player with the ball gets past you. Like that the NBA recognized this years ago and made it two free throws when fouling on a blow-by.

Josh has been poor for 2 straight games. he hasnt looked comfortable. hasnt looked himself. even his mannerisms. reminds me of the Cincy playoff game. i dont know if its just confusion during the game or something off the field. i wont speculate. im not too worried, yet. this continues past the bye and for 2 more straight games, then we have a problem. hoping whatever the problem is will get corrected, and if its something off the field thats causing this, hope its not bad for Joshs sake. these guys are paid athletes, its their job to perform, they arent robots though. people have bad days at work. Mahomes hasnt beat Josh. Mahomes has beaten our D. Patty doesnt play against Josh and the Chefs by far have had the better D in nearly every matchup.

For a penalty that some say happens on every single play, 10 yards is too crushing to a drive. There’s no malicious intent, nor is there fear of injury.
-
The only explanation I can come with on the complexity of this rule and others is the subjectivity is a feature, not a bug. It gives the refs/league/Vegas wiggle room when needed to influence the outcome.
-
There have also been plenty of extremely fast guys who flamed out in the NFL because they couldn’t get open. There’s so much more to running routes than speed. Coleman’s wheels are fine, it’s the other parts of his game that aren’t.

New FETTERMAN Thread

I would like to compliment you on that insightful comment to your cut-and-paste in the Fetterman 2.0 thread: "Me too." Original thought, where are you hiding? -
Here’s the gist of it all and what can’t be disputed: coming off last season, the Bills believed in Ty Johnson in his speciality role (as well as the rest of the RBs) and weren’t entertaining the idea of selecting another RB in the top 100 picks. It didn’t make sense. Skattebo could’ve easily been Zach Moss 2.0 while Landon Jackson turned into Maxx Crosby 2.0. Nobody knows. If GMs thought Skattebo would be as productive as he currently is, he would’ve went earlier than the fourth round, pick 105, the seventh RB taken. These GMs are clearly not as smart as you, he who knows all. The Bills had much more pressing needs at the time, which seems to be too tough of a concept for you to understand. Once again, when you’re entrusted with a billion dollar franchise you’re more than welcome to make all the goofy decisions you want, until the team gives you your walking papers. You could also infiltrate the media and ask Brandon Beane why he failed to see what was so obvious to your eyes. Until then, feel free to continue to sit back and arm chair critique those who do what you only wish you could.
