Where is Landon Jackson ???
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes lets cut a 3rd round pick. Great idea! And yet going into this weekend the Bills were in the top 5 in pressure rate. So the Bills are affecting the QB and making him move off his spot, just not getting the sacks. I would be very hard to put Bishop in the trash can as it would be well overflowing by all the other players the fans wanted in there, starting with Spenser Brown, Coleman as you mention, Knox, Bass, and many others I can't even recall. Who should we sit instead of Jackson? The team is only going to make 4 DE's active, the only one you could possibly argue to sit would be Solomon and to me it's not at all surprising the a 5th rounder with a full year of experience under his belt can beat out a 3rd round rookie. They've also talked about how playing DE is much harder to learn everything you need to know that DT. I saw posts on some thread questioning why draft him if he's not going to play. That answer is simple, at the end of this year both Bosa and Epenesa are free agents and even at DT Jones is likely gone along with Phillips and IMO unless Oliver either has a massive year or agrees to a pay cut he could also be gone as he has a very high cap number. And while he had a great game 1, it's hard to have a massive year when not playing so that could work against him too. Jackson very likely was drafted to replace Epenesa next season, maybe they will re-sign Bosa depending how his year goes and how much he wants, but next years D-line could look much different. -
Those statements just closed the deal for me. I'm sold!!

To be fair, we pick late in rounds and it’s harder to find instant contributors.

Someone mentioned it i think on this thread - but when you play in the 1PM window against an 0-3 team, you might not get the A-team refs.

Time to discuss Reid Ferguson...
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm "Reid or die" with my man Reid Ferguson. The only long snapper who can long snap and chew bubblegum at the same time. The reason the Bills are 4-0 and the reason that the old quarry didn't shut down. He was the only one man enough to fight the giant sand crab that lives at midfield. It's BEEN time to discuss him. -
You're a fraud.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW – At the One-Quarter Mark
FireChans replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s not what I asked. -
While I do acknowledge that 3rd down D has been an issue at times this season and most of last season, the Saints were only 5 for 13 on third down and 0 for 2 on fourth down yesterday.

What about the last shutdown? Or the one before that?

The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
Cray51 replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
Worthy career stats: 64 catches 721 yards 6 touchdowns longest reception: 54 yards Coleman career stats: 46 catches 759 yards 5 touchdowns longest reception: 64 yards Folks are creating things out of thin air. Coleman has been very comparable to Worthy, while having the longer reception between the two, and averaging a higher yards per catch. I get it, Worthy fast! But in reality, Coleman has shown to be quite solid at those 15-20 yard routes from the boundary. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW – At the One-Quarter Mark
Big Turk replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe the Bills sacrifice some level of being good at defending the run to ensure they don't get beat over the top and choose to "live with" not being as stout against the run. Don't feel like they are happy with some of the run play obviously since there are too many sloppy run fits, poor tackling and players not in the right position as well as plenty of bad lane rush discipline against QBs that give them easy gains after being flushed out of the pocket. That being said, not many teams are capable of beating the Bills by running the football. Simply won't be able to string together that many plays consistently on drives to keep up with them scoring wise. I also think the Bills know that and are essentially OK with giving teams "easier" yards on the ground because it is far less likely to hurt them than a 60 yard pass would. Additionally, the Bills are also near the top of the NFL every year in TFL's which are designed to get teams in bad down and distance situations that are favorable to the defense. Their failure to capitalize on those frequently enough is the more maddening part and would stop most of the other things from being an issue, IMO. -

Look at what the Chiefs, Bills, and Lions did to Baltimore's defense? Worthy coming back is a overreaction. -

Asking someone to take a pay cut isn't easy lol But I agree -
I agree. Whether by hook or crook, if we win next week we’re in great position. But NE* knows this too and are the only threat in the Divison for this season. They’re very likely to bring their A game. Can we? Have we?

She’s a sideline reporter who, given she was assigned the Bears/Raiders game, is probably still learning her craft and trying to climb her way up the ladder. Maybe she was a little nervous. Maybe she will get better at delivery. She probably had the question given to her by a producer and did not ad lib it. He is at the top of his profession but new so he is probably on a bit of a learning curve himself. If he’s not qualified to avoid mocking a four foot nine female reporter and so weak that he needs to double down by getting in her face…….he’s got a douche bag problem that is not ever going to be solved regardless of his job. Your comparison is apples and Buicks.

Bills Rams was week 13 last year, December 8. So in the last 9 games, the Rams blocked and returned for TD. Special Teams cost us a win. Baltimore game Hamilton almost blocked our winning FG. Miami almost blocked our punt. If Fin was 2” closer, there is no roughing the kicker. And possible different outcome. Saints almost blocked our punt. If Saint was 2” closer, there is no roughing the kicker. And a possible different outcome. So in the past 9 games, Bills leaky field goal, and punt lines cost us one game. But Special Teams Unit failures almost cost all 4 games. So Special Teams Units Failed their assignments, and directly almost cost us 4 out of the last 9 Bills games, or 44.4% There have been many other near blocks on a large percentage of Punt and FG attempts. Special Teams Units has to get their ***** together. Bills D needs to figure out how to stop the run. We have Bijan coming up. Bills D needs to figure out how to get off of the field. They have to start making 3rd down stops, and stacking them. A pass rush helps. Hello Roos. Hello Sanders. Bills O Hey Joe- where are you going with these vanilla offensive schemes in your hand? I said Hey Joe, where are you going with these Vanilla offensive schemes in your hand? Josh Allen is amazing, how about we use him more? All Bills coordinator's and coaches have their work to do this week.
