Let’s rank the starting QBs in 2025
Kirby Jackson replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mahomes would be my answer because he’s been so clutch. Along the same argument though, you’d pick Hurts over Lamar or Burrow in the same situation. He’s been more clutch. I wouldn’t take Hurts over either of those 2 (and I’m higher on Hurts than most). I try to look at it as if, “every QB was in the exact same situation what would happen?” There are so many other factors. I know Mahomes is clutch. I know Hurts is clutch. It doesn’t mean that I think either is better than Lamar each week in 2025. It depends on how you define best I guess. -
Yeah, I think $12M/yr is more than fair if Bernard averages 2024 numbers over the course of his career. Sure the Bills could have spent the money elsewhere, like they could’ve done with any other position, but then the leader of the defense would be a hole that would need to be filled and maybe Bernard’s replacement fairs far worse. It’s a fair contract on both ends with the potential for Bernard to outperform it.

For a Christian you are weirdly ignorant of the idea of the Christian missionary. I guess Tim Tebow is a radical lefty. -

Pssssst. The Bills have basketball hoops in their indoor training facility, and guys play some pickup half court after practices. McDermott countenances it if not encourages it because he thinks it fosters competitive spirit. When he was newer to the league, you used to see Josh Allen distracted by the hoop goings on during interviews - he would be answering questions with one ear and pining to be over there with the other. -
But have they really been better QB's or just guys who got better stats because Mahomes has had arguably the least to work with weapon wise due to injuries or personnel decisions? Burrow hasn't even made the playoffs the past 2 years as his team notoriously starts each season off in a hole and Lamar hasn't been as good in the post season as he has been in the regular season over his career. Its all in the eye of the beholder, so no wrong answers, just I can get behind the debate of Allen or Mahomes, but Burrow and Lamar over Mahomes just feels like a reach. Here is an interesting question - Who are you going to give the ball too in the postseason with the game on the line and one final drive to win it? NOTE: Saw a wild stat that Mahomes is the only QB in history with a 100% success rate doing that and no one else in history is even at 50% and Mahomes has done it 7 out 7 times I believe it said.

As much as the team would like to, you can't wrap these guys in bubble wrap. Injuries can happen anywhere from the weight room, guys training on their own, or playing in some recreational activity like a charity basketball game. However, if it is something that is not explicitly banned in their contract these guys are free to do whatever and you just have to hope for the best. -

He didn't just play basketball his whole life. The dude was a D1 basketball player. How many dudes do we see in March sitting out the tournament because of a dunk? And this is Keon just dunking on air, not other real life humans playing defense -

It's crazy and depressing that only 1 of those qbs has a Lombardi, yet the NFL continues to give most of the favors to the one who's team has multiple. -

I get it and think the world of Mahomes. I just think they’ve been better. Hurts eliminated Mahomes last year but I still think Mahomes is better. -
I heard it was the deal we ended up offering to Minny for Diggs

It was a charity basketball event. Other Bills were playing basketball too. Maybe the problem is that Keon is too athletic? Maybe if he played basketball without jumping so high? 🤷♂️ Life is dangerous. I don’t think it’s fair to say Keon is a space cadet and therefore he’s at greater risk playing the same game as everyone else….but better. If you play, you play. One could argue that playing at half speed is just as dangerous, and it’s something you’d never want to do in football if you care for your wellbeing. -

he was looking for a redo of his contract—the whole contract, not just the bonus you are stuck on. “"I'd never seen that before with three years left and not adding years. ... We've all seen how many guys are cut one year into a long-term deal. It's been kind of a one-way system. In this particular instance, you had a player who said, 'This isn't an ideal situation for me.' For guys around the league, this is a positive development for players. And they have Antonio Brown to thank for it." Rosenhaus. “Rosenhaus spoke with general manager Brandon Beane on March 5, and Beane made clear then he would tweak Brown's remaining deal but wouldn't redo it. That was a nonstarter for Brown, so both parties agreed it wouldn't work and never revisited. again, where did you read that Beane offered a year and no guarantee?” it was reported multiple outlets a 1st round pick was offered.

The Saints drafted Shough back in April. -
It doesn't have to count for anything. QBs have a lower impact on single game wins than most fans think. They're probably worth like 30% or less of the team's overall success. Which of course makes them by far the most important player on the team, but the rest of the team taken as a whole is still more impactful. This is the same line of thinking that makes a lot of Eagles fans argue to the death that Hurts is a top 5 QB, but when you watch him play there is a clear drop off.

There's a balance between letting a guy understand the risks of activities, and bubble wrapping players. If we were the franchise that doesn't let our guys do anything fun during the offseason, we're a franchise no one wants to play for
