  1. Past hour
  2. Funny...I was scrolling through this thread and that was the exact song I was gonna add. Great choice. IMHO, Bruce's most comprehensive song. Just amazing.
  3. Bills Falcons 2017, my daughter had just come home from the NICU and my wife and I had friends in town to help us celebrate, me and the boys got to watch the game at the local Bills bar. Tre White had a long fumble return for a TD and Hauschka drilled two 50+ FGs late in the 4th to deliver the W. Only three games I remember from that magical season are that one, the last game to position us for a playoff spot (thank you Bengals) and the playoff game vs the Jags. My daughter's first Bills draft pick was Josh Allen and it has been a lot of fun ever since. Bills 23 Falcons 17 10/01/2017
  4. it’s funny how some plays stick with you. I can replay that Peters block in my mind like it was yesterday.
  5. Yes. Thanks. It was either Pat or Kyle on my mind with DT's. Strange coincidence that the Bills drafted a player with a first name Deone and a player with the last name Sanders before his kid was taken in the same draft.
  6. Not unless DQ doesn't make the team. DQ is in final year of his deal and may still have enough to get one more 2 year deal from someone else. He should be motivated to play better. With Carter moving to NT, Walker is probably the 5th DT on the team, maybe 6th after the PED cheat. Barring injury to someone else, I would not be surprised to see him a healthy scratch most of the year if DQ, Carter and the PED cheat from Pittsburgh play well. Could be game plan dependent too, if they are playing against a run heavy offense. If he is ahead of Carter on the depth chart then this kid is either really good, or Carter is a bust.
  7. This random game was a blast! The "Rickey Williams game" in 2002
  8. Nope. I've tuned the team out a long time ago. They are a joke.
  9. That was our second Bills party and first victory and to this day our favorite. We were so excited we ran down our street with like 20 friends and family waving flags and playing the shout song. My wife's cousin jumped on our shed (no idea how he didn't fall through) waving the Bills flag. Ended up partying until like 10 pm celebrating because why not. Morning was not as fun haha Fred's run was something else, but I always forget Kyle Williams had a really big INT also. Robert Woods also had a gem of a catch late making me even more sad we couldn't keep him.
  10. Some great memories!!! I flew from Portland to Chicago in 2014 with my boys age 12 and 11 on a redeye. We landed 7am. Took L close to the stadium. Ate breakfast at Yolk. Walked to the stadium and went to natural history musem first to kill some time. Awesome finish. Stayed in the stands late. Then walked to downtown and had great steak dinner. Took the L back to O'Hara. Both boys were passed out in their Bills jerseys. They were so tired. One of my best pictures of my boys. Flew back that night. No luggage. No hotel. Great memories!!! The Fred Jackson stiff arm was one of the great drought highlights!
  11. Facts: Highest scoring team in the AFC in both the regular season and post season...and 16th greatest offense in NFL history. Facts: The offense has to try and be perfect and score 35+ points per playoff game because the defense is giving up 35 PPG to the Chiefs in the postseason. A team that lost the next game 3 times after eliminating us where they avg 17 points per game (less than half they score on us). Facts: We had guys open and wide open multiple times on our last series, the personnel at WR was not at all why we failed on our last series. Batted passes at he LOS, missed throws, and cheating the protection to the wrong side all during those 4 plays is why our wide open receivers and TE's did not receive the ball. It was not because guys were not open. Facts: Bills Defense was amongst the worst in the NFL both in 3rd down conversions and 1st downs allowed and was highly dependent on turnovers, an unsustainable way to play defense, especially against the better QB's in the post season. Its mind blowing how people keep clamoring for "help" for Josh Allen and completely whiffing on the very obvious way to give Allen the most help is to give him a defense that can just get off the field once or twice more a game so the offense isn't being asked to be perfect at all times.
  12. My take is a little different: I think they're taking a swing at having a real superstar for once, and being relevant. No one cares about the Jags. No one's ever cared about the Jags. Trevor Lawrence is a good(?) QB, but not cool enough to be a major star without major wins. Hunter is potentially the coolest player in a long time. And as a bonus, he's from Georgia and appears happy to be playing close to home. A potential superstar who actually wants to be there? That could be a game changer for a franchise like Jacksonville. If Hunter makes it as a two-way player in any meaningful capacity, he will be the favorite player of a whole generation of young fans. And it could work on-field as well. I assume the plan is for Hunter to shore up the pass defense at CB and be functionally the WR2 to BTJ on offense. (I know the GM has said they're going to lead with WR and ease him into defense. In the interview I watched, that sounded like an onboarding plan with the goal of Hunter playing both ways this year and beyond.)
  13. In George Orwell's 1949 dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, the world is divided into three superstates: Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia, who are all fighting each other in a perpetual war in a disputed area mostly located around the equator. All that Oceania's citizens know about the world is whatever the Party wants them to know, so how the world evolved into the three states is unknown; and it is also unknown to the reader whether they actually exist in the novel's reality, or whether they are a storyline invented by the Party to advance social control.
  14. I am a pretty big jazz guy, but Take Five is the only Brubeck song I know!
  15. Agree that loss to the Steelers was so deflating Me too! Same experience! Oddly calm most of the game, thinking Allen would turn it around.
  16. But the passing game did suffer. For the first time since 2019 Allen was below 4,000 passing yards. Passing TDs also was the lowest since 2019. Passing success rate was below 50%, and again the lowest since 2019. It's inarguable that the weak WR talent made the passing offense significantly less productive. The offense made up for it however with great tackle play, getting explosive plays from the run game, and an all-time elimination of negative plays in the pass game (literally all-time - Allen had the lowest sack/INT/fumble percentage in NFL history). They were able to mask the WR room by playing an intentionally safe ball control style of offense and by Allen delivering the best performance of his career. That doesn't mean the lack of WR talent wasn't a problem; the volume passing stats show clearly that it was. And ball control worked great, until the final two games of the season. Against Baltimore our inability to do anything on offense for the entire second half almost cost us a game that we had well in hand. The narrative of that game swung on a dropped 2 point conversion. Against KC we were forced into multiple 4th down conversion scenarios as a direct result of our small ball philosophy, and predictably we couldn't convert all of them so we lost. The needle proved too narrow to thread. I worry this season will suffer the same ending. But this regime has made its bed and they have to lay in it. Looking at the total resources spent on the offense vs on the defense, the 2025 Bills really should be led by the defense. We shouldn't need to put up 30+ PPG to win 13+ games. KC went 15-1 (ignoring the farce that was week 18) scoring 23.1 PPG. McDermott and Beane are telling us with their spending that that is the style of team they want to win with. So they better prove that the strategy can work. I still worry that all the defensive investments will mean nothing when we inevitably face KC in the playoffs, and that the offense will once again fail to close the deal when they have the chance because no one other than Allen can step up and make a play.
  17. This clip from the Wonder Years has always stayed with me about “work.”
  18. He's just reelin' in the years.
  19. I agree that Brady has to use him as a vertical threat. Moore can definitely do it as he has done before and was arguably quite good at it. It’s on Brady’s shoulders to utilize both him and Palmer as vertical threats as and when needed. Jury is out on that as MVS obviously had the skills but didn’t fit into Bradys offense (and I really don’t have any complaints about Bradys offense). https://jetsxfactor.com/2021/11/23/elijah-moore-outside-wr-slot/
  20. I think folks are overlooking the Bucs when talking about difficult opponents. Mayfield, Evans, Godwin, a solid RB in Irving, A mountain in Vita Vea, they will be a tough out even in the OP.
  21. Agree I like the depth and adding talent at DT, Edge, and Corner. You can even say they added a possibel big nickel S with the kid from Ohio State. Would be nice to see Bosa,Solomon, and this kid play well enough to get rid of Epenesa. That said Epenesa made a few more plays last year than he did the year before. He and the rest of the DL disappeared against the Chiefs. They are still thin at LB but at least 2 of the three (Bernard, Milano, Williams) stay healthy they should be ok. All three can play either LB spot if needed. Yeah that's how I felt too. Lots of quick throws so hard to tell. I don't think he made an inside pass rush move the entire clip. No spin move. Give him a year to learn from Bosa should help. Bosa may be the most important offseason acquisition on defense.
  22. I was a ten years old and there too!
  23. I'm not disagreeing with you but in fairness it should be mentioned: This was a 1 minute sampler, not a complete, condensed game. By most accounts, Jackson had a strong game against Campbell. QB was getting the ball out quickly... it looks like half the snaps were 3 steps and throw. I think the tweet is inconclusive at best.
