I didn't, and you changed a variable to "starting" to try to disprove my point. Even using your preferred metric, 82% of Ohio State's starting lineup is future salesman or Amazon delivery drivers. Maybe that's actually worse than 95% of the entire roster. And that would be an incorrect thing to think. 7 total Ohio State players "got a chance" in the NFL. (4 on active roster). None had their rights drafted by the UFL. Steele Chambers (what a name), is the lone member of the Ohio State 2024 class currently in the UFL. That's 5 players across two leagues.

I mean, I literally watched a play where Allen almost got killed immediately because Cook whiffed on his block so fast, Allen barely had time to get rid of the ball before being drilled. It was honestly impressive that Cook could miss a block that badly that it led to Allen getting hit so quickly...that's how bad it was.

1 year 12 million, with incentives up to 20. add void years to lower hit it's a fairly big if....but if he can stay on the field, Benford + Jaire is quite a tandem. Certainly among the best. The secondary is still really in need of more talent.

I agree with most of this but if I was to n Cook’s shoes, I would do the same thing. This is the most leverage he will ever have in his entire career. Playing on a one year contract is awful for any player but especially a rb. If he plays on a one year deal he: risks suffering a major injury; gets less touches that hurts his value, and the Bills run him into the ground (I don’t see that). every other good player for his Bills draft class has gotten a new deal. And I’d argue Cook has the best resume out of all of them. His brother’s career basically ended at 27. I get how it is tough to pay rb. But Cook has gotten better every year. He was the BEST player in the championship game and we might have won if he touched the ball more. This is going to be a story on Hard knocks. I’d love to see a real breakdown of this. Is Johnson better? Sure but I think this has been way overstated how bad Cook is.

Have you watched him in game? He is awful, even last year. Improving when you are starting at like a 0/10 and "improving" to a 2/10 isn't moving the needle.

No I'm just saying we should be led by our defense more this season. The way that KC has been for a couple years now. I mean just about every major investment we made this offseason was on the defense... As you know that would not have been my strategy, but I get it. So now that strategy has to lead to a different result. The 3rd down defense has to be much better and we can't watch KC do their annual playoff thing against us where they move up and down the field at will. I'm not actually asking us to go 15-1 scoring 24 PPG, I am more realistic than that. But I think everybody should agree that if the defense lives up to the investments, the inevitable KC playoff matchup shouldn't come down to our offense having to score 30+ and score the last TD with seconds remaining. Because if that scenario happens for a third consecutive year, then what was the point of investing so much in the defense? In that scenario the only question that will matter is if one of our skill players made a clutch play to close out the win.

Based on what? The guy has gotten better in each of the last two offseasons. What evidence do you have that Cook has not and is not working to be a better blocker/pass protector?

I agree, but that isn't what we have gotten 100 threads on all offseason, its been specifically on the WR room, specifically blaming WR's for the 2023 and 2024 endings when it was not at all related to the WR's those final 2 series. One thing for sure, I agree, I am over it too, the conversation in general has been beaten to death. But...the bolded here..no disrespect, but this is just a silly statement that is a reflection of your personal disappointment and in no way what so ever an accurate reflection of how Beane, the team, the coaches think and feel about the offense. We just averaged over 30 in the reg season and 29 in the post season and they feel the offense has the potential to be as good or better between the moves they made and the expectations they have of Kincaid and Coleman to better too this year between being healthy and more experienced. Whether they are right or not will be proven on the field of course, but to suggest they "want" a lower scoring middling offense like KC is just a wild thing to say and just isn't at all true.
