  1. Past hour
  2. Hate my allergies. Zyrtec and Flonase seem to do a decent job. Will take Sudafed on top of that on bad days. Gotta have the stuff in my system a few hours before cutting the grass or it’s a problem.
  3. Yeah, this team surprised us with the Mario Williams signing, but he was only 27.
  4. Clown show. I just remember his explanation for all the horrible challenges/non challenges during that 2015 Chiefs game in Arrowhead after the game in a key game in the middle of the season. I wanted them to fire him after that press conference.
  5. Today
  6. Beane already addressed weapons around Allen with Kincaid, Cook and now Coleman. The strategy is to run the football more and throw to big, strong targets that can also run block well. Complimentary football baby, makes McD a happy clapper ; )
  7. I agree. NFL needs to come down hard on this and they should force the Jags to forfeit their first three games.
  8. Not really true about Singletary. He had a bunch of long runs. His longest in 2019 was 38 yards, 51 in 2020, 46 in 2021 and 33 in 2022. A bunch of TDs of over 20 yards. Cook is more explosive, but Singletary was not undangerous.
  9. Yeah but nobody thinks Tyrod is as good of a QB as Allen, despite the TO difference. The question is does Allen need to be middle of the pack in TOs to produce a ton of TD’s? Would you trade 2 less TD’s for 5 less TO’s? Maybe.
  10. That nothing has changed business wise, even minutely, around the stadium seems an absurd anomaly. ECC has recently discussed moving their South campus to the North campus due to shrinking enrollment. Nothing but conjecture, but were that to happen, would the land be made available? Being right next to the stadium, it would seem ideal to create spin off businesses. Though more parking might be the thinking. And, that there’s been zero increases of business around the stadium since it opened, maybe it’s simply just not worthwhile, as unlikely as that might seem.
  11. A lot of this is based on what women signed up for. If a woman goes dancing at a night club, she knows there's a chance everyone will be bunched up together, causing some level of physical contact. But if a woman becomes a flight attendant, she's probably not expecting a kicker to start handing out $100 bills, with the intention of creating a party atmosphere or sexualized environment. If the allegations are true, the Jaguars are to blame as well, because they shouldn't be allowing stuff like this to happen on their charter flights. Or if for some reason the Jaguars do want stuff like this to happen on their charter flights, then they need to create separate roles/job descriptions. A person is hired to be a flight attendant or is hired to provide entertainment. As opposed to mixing the two roles together for women who thought they were being hired for flight attendant roles only.
  12. I don't think this opinion makes any sense at all, and won't until we know what kind of condition he's in. The contract was fine, very good even, until he was injured. And that's true with all contracts, basically. Injuries are a possibility with anyone, and they make a contract's money useless. Fair enough that he was older and therefore a riskier signing. But he'd been wildly healthy as an older dude till this happened. Before the injury, he made our defense an absolute metric poo-ton better. I wouldn't have done that contract myself. But that doesn't make it a bad contract. More high-risk high reward. You keep him on this team in case he recovers all the way. And the Bills do NOT want to take a big hit on next year's cap. They made clearing up next year's cap a big priority this year. IMO Miller had plenty of leverage knowing what we all do about how they wanted to clean up the cap. He did this pretty selflessly.
  13. "Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up-and-down the court for 48 minutes." -Roger Murdoch
  14. Player: Cornell Green. The worst offensive tackle I ever saw. Even more than Langston Walker. Coach: Nathaniel Hackett. Even more than Jauron, Wrecks, Gregg-0 & Maroon.
  15. Von Miller had less leverage than many here might believe. Let's say he pulled a Stephon Diggs, and refused to discuss a pay cut. At that point, the Bills could have released him, designating him a post June 1st cut. That would have saved a little cap space for this upcoming season. In that scenario, you're cutting him off from any new money, and you're spreading the dead cap hit out over two years. That was the leverage the Bills had in their negotiations with von Miller. Why not just do that? Why keep him on the team at all? Had the Bills released him, they would have been badly in need of a pass rusher. If von Miller improves over 2023, he could significantly contribute in that area. The possibility of helping the team in that way was von Miller's leverage in his negotiations with the Bills.
  16. Vegas places the line where they think the bettors will be 50/50 over and under, not necessarily where they believe the line should be.
  17. I agree they do everything with a purpose but their purpose is not always about the immediate short term. Unless you think in 2018 Beane put together the worst collection of skill position players and offensive linemen the Bills have had this century to support his rookie QB because he thought that was a good idea? He didn't. He thought taking on all the dead cap of the guys they had moved on from - Sammy, Darby, Dareus, Glenn, Tyrod etc - in one hit was a good idea. The offensive talent reflected the reality that he had less to spend as a result. That is what is happening here IMO. Beane's purpose is to do a mini-reset of the roster in 2024 to transition from the first Allen era team to Allen era 2.0. He has built the best WR room he thinks he can in that context. It doesn't mean they aren't trying to win in 2024 but their #1 objective in their roster decisions this spring was to begin that reset.
  18. One year rental? He was a free agent. The Rams had offered him a good contract. A multi-year contract. He liked being a Ram, and wanted to remain where he was. We're not prying him away from all that with a one year offer. If we wanted to sign him, there was only one way. That was to do what we did. Even with the very large contract Buffalo offered, his first inclination was to remain with the Rams. But after talking it over with people, such as his father, he changed his mind. Von Miller's father said something to the effect of, "They have almost everything they need to win a Super Bowl. The only piece they're missing is you." With the benefit of hindsight, the von Miller contract maybe doesn't look like the very best decision this organization has ever made. But that's hindsight. Beane had to work with the information available at the time.
  19. It's a good topic because my answers are definitely different from who's your least favorite player or coach of all time. I'll go with Tyrod Taylor and Steve Fairchild.
  20. JP had one of the best QB coaches in the league in Sam Wyche & still failed. Then he went to the UFL & was going to be "coached up" by offensive guru Jim Fassel and was still nothing upon his return to the NFL. JP was ruined by JP & nobody else.
  21. The OP was the person I was responding to who certainly seems to think there’s at least a remote possibility
  22. Well like $450 million is coming directly from the Seneca Niagara Casinos that the state finally collected on after all those years.
  23. This was a good thread. But one thing unsolved is there is no assigned value for TD's and turnovers. Are we considering the two equally valuable? I certainly don't think that is true. But if the only stat we have is TD:TO ratio, that basically assumes equal value between both. I much rather have my QB put up 3 TDs and 2 TO then say have my QB put up 2 TD and 1 Turnovers. A TD is worth 6 points every time. A turnover could be worth 6, 3 or 0 points for the other team. How you get to your TD:TO ratio matters IMO. If you have a middle of the pack TD:TO ratio but don't actually score many TD's ( think Tyrod Taylor for example), I don't think that is a good thing. If you have a middle of the pack TD:TO ratio and happen to lead the league in TD's since 2018, that is a much more valuable QB.
  24. The idea makes sense to me. They are situations where you are behind the sticks more than 10 yards and take a reasonable deep shot. I don't love the OP's definition of 3rd and 5 or longer. There are better options between 3rd and 5 - 10 yards. It should be defined as behind the sticks. The INT against Washington was 3rd and 20 from Bills 40 yard line. Took a deep shot, DB made a better play than Gabe Davis and picked it off at the 19 for no gain. That's a 41 yard net punt inside the 20. Jacksonville game, Bills had 3rd and 15 from Bills 41 yard line. Deep shot to Diggs in one one coverage. Diggs gets both hands on the ball and is out muscled by the DB at the 7 yard line for no gain.. Result is equivalent to net punt of 52 yards inside the 10 yard line. The Washington one was a perfect example. When you are at 3rd and 20, every pass to move the chains is going to be deep. Even if you complete something at 15 yards and rely on 5 yards of YAC to get the first down. You are still throwing at least 15 air yards down the field. So it is a question of how deep do you want to throw it? Deep or really deep? If you are going to turn it over, I rather it be intercepted 40 yards down field over 15 or 20 yards down field.
  25. Tyrod Taylor was tough to watch for me. Couldn't throw a guy open, just threw safe balls to guys who were standing still. I don't remember exact moments but I probably was pretty upset with Maybin on D — Eric Woods yelling at him in practice was priceless: "Give back the money you stole!" Coaches: Jauron was as lifeless as his zombified face. But there was so much bad for so long it's hard to single out guys.
  26. Yeah, Rice might be good. We'll see. It took a long time and lots of swings and misses to finally get a potentially good receiver. We'll see if he can take the next step. And stop getting into trouble, of course...
