  1. Past hour
  2. While we're talking about the O line, I want to throw a kudo at Connor McGovern. There was a play in the third quarter where he and someone else got hurt. McGovern was lying on the ground, writhing in pain, and the announcers either didn't notice or didn't care about a mere O lineman. Whatever the problem, McGovern gutted it out and finished the game. He probably wasn't as good as he usually is, not surprisingly, but he gave the effort.
  3. I think one of the things taking away the joy for me is that the fanbase cares more about the team than the players do. I am a 42 year old guy. I've spent hours of my life and thousands of my dollars on the team. Meanwhile guys the organization is paying tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars are saying things like "they just wanted it more than us" or paraphrasing other millionaires by saying his "life would be great" if they didn't win a Super Bowl. Makes me realize these guys are just mercenaries. Have to admit to feeling a bit stupid.
  4. Shakir is a luxury player. A Deebo type WR4 to play in the slot and backfield. He shouldn’t be our primary slot. And because he is, we can’t play Keon there, we can’t move Gabe or Palmer inside down to down. We’re completely static in our positions which makes us easier to defend.
  5. It might help against the run if we actually had three legitimate NFlLcapable linebackers. Bills LBs are garbage!
  6. Watching the Bills, and football in general will always be fun for me. I survived the drought, with it still being fun. VERY frustrating at times, yes. But still love it
  7. Brady's play calling puts me in mind of Ralph Kramden. Regarding the play selections, it's "I know that you know that you think you know what I know what I'm going to call!" The results are often regrettably "Homina homina homina..."
  8. Mr. "Key to the City is good dude in terms of his community contributions. As a football player he's showing his true colors. Trying to be a media darling, hanging out with UFC fighters at events..... I don't like Dawkins at all. Always felt like he was fake and out for himself. Hate away.
  9. This. And if it gets worse, what, the Bills do not win a SB? They haven’t anyways. What's the difference? Worst case scenario they look for another HC. I hate this idea of keeping a HC because the new guy might be worse. If the new guy sucks, cross that bridge when you get to it.
  10. I think Brady is designing game plans, though I'm not sure what that was yesterday. Because the Texans are good at pressuring QBs, and have a particularly strong secondary, I expected a heavy dose of Cook and the RBs, balanced with some short, quick passes. Instead, I got a huge serving of Josh dropping back, scrambling, and getting sacked. Downfield passing is not a strength of the Bills, nor a weakness of the Texans, so I'm not sure what the idea was. Why would we dial up weakness versus strength? And with 116 from Cook, maybe someone could say we did get a heavy dose of Cook. But not really. We only ran him 17 times despite a 6.8 ypc against the league's best defense. And for a long while it seemed like Brady forgot about him. RBs only totaled 19 carries versus 34 pass attempts. I'm not sure what Houston vulnerability Brady was trying to attack, but he didn't do it very well.
  11. Should have won this game. Problem is, we got bullied early on and when that happens we retreat. Punch this team in the mouth and they just fall apart. Offensive line took a beating. Not sure why they didn’t provide help to the line - leave a back in to block, chip at the LOS. What happened to this line? Last year they were great, this year not so much. I would like it if Dawkins just stuck to playing football. For those calling for Bernard to sit, looks like he may. Not sure the injury, but when wearing a sling like that pretty good bet he will be out for a game or more. Defense did a good job against the run..better than I expected. Thought that would lead to Mills having problems winning the game..but he did just enough to win. I just can’t get over how much of a beating they put on us. That pass rush killed us. How could they not figure out how to slow them down even a little? We are 7-4. Nobody is getting fired at this point. Over the next 10 days I’m sure (hopefully) there will be a deep dive on offense and hopefully fix some issues. Defense is all McD and he’s not going anywhere. Pretty sure Babich is gone after this year - no way he gets stripped of play calling and he stays. Either fired outright, or “mutually” agree to move on. He may just walk on his own.
  12. #2 is wild for how accurate it is. I mean what are we doing? Comical year for this staff.
  13. Everyone in the organization needs to take a bite of this crap sandwich. Even Josh (who admittedly is the least to blame) needs to be accountable. I will just bring up an example that yesterday's game shed a light on. Josh does not like to do quick throws and hasn't his whole career with maybe the exception of Beasley. The O sure needed a bunch of them last night. Brady and O have to make schemes like that available for times like this. That is just one thing that shows the disconnect of the team in general. There isn't even anyone in the wings that could take over for Brady and that is on McDermott. Brady's playcalling obviously has so many "tells" that the opposing Ds might as well have the call sheet. He also has zero sense of stringing the plays together to keep the D honest. It really is bad. The deep handoff on 4th and 1 make me just shake my head and say, "He has to go". Whether Beane/McDermott around next year is an offseason question. Right now, the offense has to get fixed in 10 days.
  14. He was doing the exact same thing against the Texans. Alot of plays. Something is off. Someone needs to look into this behaviour. Very fishy .
  15. I know right, he set the edge even on pass plays, lol......and that edge setting works really well as RB run right past him all game long to the tune of 200 yards a game, Or does he set the egde because he cant get past the OL and get to the QB or is that the new excuse for poor play, he just sets the edge.
  16. I said elsewhere that Beane might want to trade Dawkins before next season. He still has a few years left and might fetch a second-round pick. Beane has got to do something different. If he sticks to his modus operandi he'll just get the same results, over and over: some hits, some misses, and a not-good-enough team. It's time to rebuild, overdue in fact. Trade Dawkins, Bernard, Knox, Coleman, maybe even Oliver, and cut the washed vets, including Rapp and Dequan. Trade up for and sign three or four impact players and build your team around them and a young, athletic core: Walker, Sanders, Bishop, Hancock, Hairston, Benford, Stone (I hope), Grable, Torrence, SVP, Cook, Hawes. But that's just half of what they need to do. We all know what the other half is. Does Beane have the moxie and vision to pull the trigger?
  17. I think we are getting close to the territory of Beane being one of the worst GMs in the NFL. His draft picks, contract extensions, and lack of trading for proper pieces have been abysmal. Below are his highlights, and I am sure I am missing some but man, he is looking terrible right now. Trading for Diggs - worked out although hindsight obviously shows keeping the pick and drafting Jefferson was way better Drafting Allen - this is the only reason he still has a job Notable draft picks over his tenure - Spencer Brown, James Cook, Terrel Bernard, Torrence, Bishop, Shakir, Benford, Teller (traded)
  18. Ripping him for not playing to the whistle throughout the game I get. What he does after the final whistle is irrelevant and I highly doubt he’s yucking it up in the locker room.
  19. This is a very good point.
