I think there is a factor of some QB coming out thought they had arrived. Mayfield and Darnold had a pretty gold-plated trip from college to the pro's. Like gold, they were expected to shine right away. It may have affected the work they put in off-season and the fact that they needed to bounce around to several teams and "get the memo" that more work was needed. Allen, on the other hand, came out to a chorus of "boos" from the pundits and the knowledge that he had to improve if he was going to make it. I think that also affected the work he put in off-season.

I can guarantee that you never played D1, semi pro or anything, if you're accusing pro football players out of the blue for faking injuries. Correct me if I'm wrong.. You have absolutely no idea what their bodies go through in an nfl season cause you've never experienced it yourself. Some players say their bodies don't feel right until 5 days after a game, and most guys play with injuries we don't even know about. So to call a professional football player soft, or that they are faking injuries when there is 0 credible source or reason to make that accusation, is just ridiculous. You're a really good poster here as well, so it's definitely surprising to hear that coming from you.

I gotta admit that this is an interesting comparison. The numbers are pretty darn close. But I'll add this about our guy. He's quiet for parts of games when Cook is carrying the load or Brady is making dumbass calls. And one of the reasons Cook is carrying the load is because teams are defending Josh first with 2-high shells and - often - a spy. Yet despite teams being manically focused on stopping him, when Josh has to make a play to win a game, he does. Some of the announcers like to say he puts on his Superman cape when he needs to. He has the ability to will a team to victory. The stats don't capture that.

I never played professional football but so what? How would you know what I have or haven't done to what level? Opportunities like that are up to skill that is mostly God given. Not all of us are gifted with that.
