  1. Past hour
  2. While I did not spend as much time as prior years looking into the draft, I like that Beane addressed positions of need on D. I will be ecstatic to get two starters out of this draft. Any improvement in the pass rush might be enough to put us over the top. We have a great RB in Cook. If Coleman lives up to his talent, we can really say that we have all the ingredients. I was impressed by our run D in the playoffs. We neutralized Henry and Jackson in the divisional round. I credit Clappy for that. The Eagles are young, talented and physically dominating with many of their best on rookie or team friendly contracts. They'll be in the mix again. We are an elite team that can beat anyone on a given day. We need to put it all together on the day it matters.
  3. I think most people don't realize, that Darrelle Revis was under 6 feet tall. He was also 5'11". For context: here are there combine numbers Revis: 5'11.5" 32.5" arms 8.25 hands Weight 204lbs. Mad Max: 5'11" 31" arms 8.75 hands Weight 183lbs, Height/length is not a problem. The big difference of course, is weight. 204lbs for a corner, is pretty big and in the upper tier. Mad Max stated that he's already back up to about 190lbs, and went down in weight, to maximize his 40 time, which we all know was 4.28. Revis did not run. That being said, he doesn't need to be a 200lb corner. If he's in that 190-193lbs range, it would be perfect, in my opinion. He's still a young guy and won't get that full grown man strength until he's about 25. It's like in H.S, you don't go for the chick that's already thick, you have to properly project.
  4. My dad used to mange facilities and grounds keeping at a local school district. A beer broke through a clarion window in the night and could not figure out how to get back out. It did extensive damage to the room and furniture trying to get out. It was a bloody mess. The sherif and game warden had to come in and euthanize the deer.
  5. Really? And it wasn't a "few bishops." The money was sent to Rome to pay for St. Peters. Luther simply challenged the practice, and they put a hit on him. I can specifically remember the issue in my Catholic education centuries later. What about today? "The church offers indulgences under specific conditions. Besides visiting designated holy sites such as the National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini during set periods of time and for special occasions, Catholics can receive indulgences by reciting a set of approved prayers or making charitable contributions. The 1999 “Manual of Indulgences” provides guidelines for church-sanctioned practices. "The church teaches that even when a person has been ritually forgiven, God’s justice still requires some punishment to purge the sin – at the very least, suffering and miseries on Earth. Moreover, the church teaches, these hardships are to be welcomed because they purify the soul and heal the stain of original sin." Invention None of this is Biblical.
  6. Spotrac is great for looking up done contracts. But their forecasting of "market values"? It's terrible. They constantly undervalue guys and predict wrong.
  7. Was Chien Ming-Wang a real player? There are more coming. Work for a MLB team. The guys who scout for the pro leagues here actually have a much harder job than I have. About five guys a year will sign with a MLB club. They have to scout everybody. And, by the way, ***** on Asian baseball at your peril. These boys can play.
  8. I was yelling for 2 rounds to take Wilson...when we traded up I thought 100% it had to be for Wilson. Part of my soul died when I heard TJ Graham's name called and I was like who Da F is that?
  9. Your point is valid. Bills fans automatically think we will pick up right where we left off in league scoring. But in fact, every year is different. Each new year is a complete reset. There is no "picking up where you left off". Our main competition is stocking up on WR because Reid knows the value. Ravens will be better. The bengals will be back in the mix. Watch out for the Chargers. We need to give Josh every tool available to be successful next season. And we have reloaded the defense several times already in McDermotts 10 year tenure. Does anyone honestly think this year will be different ? At least give Josh some new weapons in this completely new season to outscore teams in the playoffs.
  10. Trying to be more optimistic in life. I said I was being more confident than usual because the one seed is more attainable than ever at this point. Five out of ten of the teams that won the one seeds made the Super Bowl since the playoffs expanded in 2020. Once they started seeding in Super Bowl X, 53 of the 100 teams that made the Super Bowl were number one seeds in their conference. We've lost one this year. Darn it. There goes my optimistic goal.
  11. I just watched the embedded video and it was interesting to hear what Gray and Beane said about Hancock. I also say an article that overthecap.com has us with just 1.9 mill in cap space. The cap space situation makes Lewis' spot on the team even more tenuous.
  12. I think the D Swift comparisons are more about the stats - the worth of a somewhat young player who has 200 carries, 1,000ish yds + approx 40 receptions for 300 yds with a good OL in front of them. Swift got 3yrs $24M with $15M guaranteed. Spotrac has J Cook's market value listed at $10.2M/yr (4yrs $40.8M).
  13. She went to school (and lived in Rochester) for several years. I literally couldn’t have bumped into anyone better
  14. I saw some tape of the Sr. Bowl where he was using power and not just standing upright. My hope is that he'll be the Josh of the defense. If you remember, Josh had tremendous arm talent but his footwork was a huge concern, however. At the Sr. Bowl, the tape showed he'd made big improvements in footwork...He wasn't there yet, but you started to see that progress. If Walker can stay healthy and improve his mechanics, he could be a monster.
  15. I have been pretty happy with every Bills roster of the past 6 years. I didn't buy 2024 as being a mini-rebuild year. But this is the best I've felt about a Bills roster. I also have a funny feeling about the upcoming season.
  16. Has to be Peterman. He’s the one guy that would keep Josh on the field no matter how bad any non life threatening injury might be.
  17. Yes, most well rounded, complete roster under Allen
  18. We’ve yet to lose a single game this year….so there’s that.
  19. Incentives are typically negotiated between the player and team. Here is a good example of it:
  20. She’s a keeper.
  21. there were so many wtf were we thinking where we were clearly going the wrong way. troupe over Gronk. Basham over Humphrey...or was it Linderbaum? TJ graham over russ wilson in a trade up. i don't get it.
  22. My burner account sucks.
  23. Can't remember ever seeing a Bills CB move like this
  24. He doesn't look like your prototypical 3 tech either (like Jordan Philips, although I think he can be more than that) . Dude is pretty much a unicorn. Something else that's encouraging is that his intangibles are very good. Team captain and loved by his teammates and coaches. Doubt the Bills would have drafted him, given the issues around whether he will translate to the pros, if his character was problematic. His good tape is excellent but we don't get to see his bad and meh reps (unless you follow Kentucky) which are certainly much more numerous. He needs to be better conditioned. He plays with a good motor until he gets puffed later in games. Given where he was taken I absolutely love this pick. Upside is stratospheric.
  25. "I'm not at all convinced that everything is going to work out well, but on the other hand, there's nothing wrong in thinking it should." - Michael Collins, Apollo 11 Command Module Pilot
