  1. Past hour
  2. Last year the defense feasted on turnovers. This year so far, not so much. 2024, in 17 games they had 16 interceptions, 18 forced fumbles and 16 fumbles recovered. That’s 1.88 turnovers per game. This year they have 8 forced fumbles, 3 recovered and 2 interceptions in 6 games. That’s 0.8 turnovers per game. Just one small data piece reflecting the less effective defense this year.
  3. The fact he is literally untouched and a non factor in the play and it’s called back bcuz of this makes it that much more infuriating.
  4. I think that the frustration (not that I want to make this another Keon thread) is that it wasn’t hindsighty. There were a lot of experts, Matt Harmon in particular, that hated Keon as a prospect. Keon has looked pretty much exactly like he did in college both good and bad. Keon struggling to get open and being inefficient was to be expected. This isn’t like “we should have taken Puka at 150 instead of Justin Shorter.” That’s hindsighty. No one was banging the table that we needed (or anyone needed) Puka. He is a guy that was probably undervalued, that had a great skill set and ended up in a perfect situation. He exploded into one of the game’s best players. That’s hindsighty. The Coleman situation isn’t. He was a flawed prospect that many had rated lower.
  5. That 2024 draft is looking absolutely brutal.
  6. We could be realistic and manage expectations if we had the luxury in the schedule to allow that. We don’t. We are rolling out a burnt Tre White and a Benford who has been average at best. Max needs to play, and he needs to play well.
  7. No offense taken, I just reject the premise entirely that if we traded Shakir for Jamar Chase in offseason, Chase would be getting 80-100 targets a year for 900ish yards in this offense.
  8. I vividly remember that call, and the fact that they ultimately won never excused it. He was playing not to lose, like always. I still maintain that he knowingly and willingly conceded a long FG attempt in the 13 Seconds game to avoid giving up a possible big TD pass.
  9. Not arguing anything you wrote; but this is a bizarre clip to show as the authors support: The play where we lose our Center to injury and a backup enters, who between him and the LG don’t handle the twist the right way. The mesh might have actually been there had they not completely blown the protection. Again, not arguing the perspective but it just feels like a better example could have been shown.
  10. THIS, ONE THOUSAND TIMES THIS. Beane is out of his depth. He needs to go and the scouting department overhauled, preferably stealing from the Eagles.
  11. Might be asking a lot of a rookie in likely his 1st game, if he can come back that soon.
  12. yea i can't argue that. you cant expect a team to win 15 or more games a year. its just an absurd expectation.
  13. Let's do it. Again I ask: if you could have DK Metcalf or the combination of Ed Oliver and and absolute scrub OL prospect, who are you taking?
  14. I am extremely bummed about Coleman. Thought he had turned a corner in that 1st game. When I think about that draft. We could have traded up for Thomas, or taken McConkey. Very hindsighty, but it seems like our guy has had the least impact out of all of the receivers taken early.
  15. With this coaching staff? Yes. 2021 and 2023 were the best chances. If they get a new HC/GM in, I think they could win a SB. But they really need to start drafting real difference makers. Other teams consistently hit on stud receivers, DL's etc.
  16. Hope they can get Jimmy back on practice squad. Really like him. He is a tweezer, but played very well on ST.
  17. Yep. And I found a formula online to count cells of a certain color. So I have the 53 color coded to Yellow background color. I use that formula to keep track of the 53 on the active roster. So I'm suspecting a formula error, where I may have been missing a cell leading me to count 49 vs 50 active.
  18. I do agree that this team needs a severe kick in the ass player-wise. McD and this coaching staff drill into them every practice on what to do and what not to do, like contain their gap integrity, and they simply don't. Is it because they are so worried about other players doing their job, or just a lack of discipline? I do know that if this continues that McD will take control of the defense, and that should be all the change they need, as he has shown that he can still get it done. In the 2023 season, he called the defensive plays and still managed a top-10 defense despite all the injuries that season. The offense, however, perhaps does need a breath of fresh air with someone like Chris Olave. But that would cost an arm and both legs to obtain him. Joe Brady still screwed the pooch with his playcalling against many teams this year in his failure to utilize Jame Cook in the passing game. Brady didn't even have him see the field for most of the 4th quarter of that Falcons game. I'm not certain as to what to do about all the penalties. Perhaps make the said player who causes that penalty to wear a toilet seat around his neck for the week before the next game. That outta shame them.
  19. Need him for the Chiefs game or it will be a highly embarrassing outcome.
  20. I hope that last part isn’t true because if it is I’m gonna have to kill myself.
  21. I hate virtually everything about our offensive strategy. It is weak, gimmicky crap - the type of stuff a college team runs when their QB will immediately be converted to WR as soon as he gets to the NFL.
  22. Shaheed would bump Coddrington as he would be the returner as well, Olave probably Moore maybe Shavers.
  23. Call me Desdinova Eternal light These gravely digs of mine Will surely prove a sight And don't forget my dog Fixed and consequent Astronomy A star
  24. Yep. This is why I'm not sure how much of it is Joe Brady vs McDermott. Brady definitely deserves his fair share of blame for questionable and predictable play calls But I really wonder how this offence would like if he had free reigns. (Personnel and play calling)
  25. That's what McDermott wanted. "Complementary football," i.e. run heavy offense to protect his sad sack defense
  26. Brandon Beane is like someone who miraculously hits a hole-in-one on his first ever golf shot. First impression, everyone just assumes he's amazing. But after 5-6 holes full of missed putts and double bogeys, the truth starts to rear it's ugly head. Beane struck gold with Josh Allen right off the bat. Many Bills fans also gave him absentee credit for the excellent 2017 draft class, which landed us Tre White, Dion Dawkins and Matt Milano, even though he hadn't actually been hired yet. But as the sample size has grown, and the final verdict had been reached on his draft selections... it's amazing how poorly he's done for a team consistently considered a Super Bowl contender. Even in free agency. For those early years, we always joked about how many washed-up players Beane poached from the old Carolina Panthers roster. Now he's doing the same with OUR old over-the-hill players. It's almost like he's got no idea what other talent lies on the other 31 teams.
