Pope Leo XIV Puts End to Female Ordination Debate in Catholic Church Ed Morrissey So endeth a debate that has officially percolated for more than a decade, and less formally, much longer. When the Catholic Church reinvigorated the permanent diaconate as an ordained ministry several decades ago, activists began lobbying for the inclusion of women in such orders. Unlike the priesthood, the church had ordained women as deacons in its long-ago past, but essentially allowed the entire ministry to wither, with its only vestige being the transitional diaconate used as the final stage before full ordination for priests. During his pontificate, Pope Francis ordered two reviews of the question by study commissions, without exhibiting any enthusiasm for the proposal to open the diaconate to women. Yesterday, Pope Leo XIV ordered the publication of the results, signaling an end to consideration of the proposal: https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2025/12/05/pope-leo-xiv-puts-end-to-female-ordination-debate-in-catholic-church-n3809545

Here is the bandits regular season schedule. Keep in mind that often times the starting time may change, but the dates usually remain the same.

I’m done with even getting a chit from Rosenhaus and letting slay go now *if* there’s a wink from Roseman that slay does not under any circumstances play against us at any point this year. Otherwise he can rot after running his mouth yesterday. We want volunteers, not hostages, but keep the complaints in house.

I think we really need to wait until 51 former, current and/or imagined intelligence agency members declare hallmarks of Russian misinformation campaigns afoot, but that typically comes just prior to an election. For now, rando anonymous reports daisy chained by major American media sources will simply have to do. -
I mean of course not haha that was more a comment on how the ‘hot’ team can be accurately course corrected to the ‘overrated’ team at the drop of a hat in the nfl. Beating teams like the titans in September/October is essentially meaningless if you’re losing to teams like Baltimore/Buffalo in December pats have had maybe one playoff relevant game all year so it’s still an incomplete for me but most of the sports world has crowned them it seems.

Game week thread - Bengals at Bills (flexed to 1pm ET)
HappyDays replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
IMO our problem against Miami wasn't that they stacked the box, it's that it was one of the only games all year where our blockers were losing their 1v1s. I think we came into the game a bit lazy thinking we could cruise to an easy win, and weren't prepared for a Miami team that was ready for a dogfight. I welcome stacked boxes honestly. If Cook finds a crease and gets through the box that's where you see those 40+ yard TD runs. Cincy has a bad front 7 so I expect us to win our 1v1s. I'm not expecting Kincaid or Palmer to play so this will need to be another Pittsburgh type game plan. -
That must be a big ass hammer

Conversely, I wonder if it might even grease the skids a little bit with other GM's around the league who are more than happy with Beane to see him messing with Roseman and the Eagles.

Totally different levels of tampering by Miami. I dont think Beane should've done anything outside of the rules, but I also think that type of thing does happen more often than an OWNER calling a HEAD COACH to all meet FACE-TO-FACE with a PLAYER under contract with a different team regarding a way to push him off his current team, join the ownership ranks, and then come back as player/owner. A GM talking to an agent about a number of players and then casually asking "So I take it your guy Slay is looking to get his way back to Philly?" without even mentioning Buffalo being interested could probably fly under all the radar. -
If anybody's image is tarnished, in my mind it's Drew Rosenhaus. Aren't agents supposed to understand their clients and the playing field? He clearly misplayed this whole thing.

It’s like giving the bag to Phil Hansen.

Can’t disagree. Biggest cap savings are Von’s 15 million comes off, Dawkins, Brown, Shakir, and Rousseau. I’d only keep Dawkins. They don’t believe Shakir can get open. His average pass is 3 yards. Brown hurt every year, and looks like he will have perpetual back problems, and it seems like there are replacements on the roster. Rousseau is an end that can’t rush the passer. Trade what you can for picks and package picks to move up. We also need to stop drafting players with injury histories: Kincaid, Jackson, and Hairston. I don’t trust the gm to get any of this right. Take 2 years to reload and then take a serious run. Broncos did it with Elway and then won 2.

Ok… **** this guy. Let him stay home. Cut him on December 29th.

I'm terrified that Burrow will be carving our defense with quick passes just like he did in the previous 3 games vs us. Our soft zone will not get close to these receivers and we wont get to him in time with our pass rush. In addition to your point, when we lost to Burrow in the playoffs, the weather wasnt the best in Buffalo and the field was icy but it was Burrow and the Bengals that excelled and we looked completely unprepared for the conditions (in addition to the Bengals). -

Thats why I'd think they'll waive him. I'm wondering if he even plays much if he was ok with being here. Maybe in a pinch? -
Mariah Carey has ruined Christmas music.

I'm pretty sure the Bills can put him on the "Reserve/Did Not Report" list, which makes it so he doesn't count as a roster spot and his cap doesn't count either.

I dont really buy that keeping his rights will harm the Bills' relationships with players and agents. We played within the rules of the system. We didnt even bend let alone break a rule. If the players/agents want to feel some type of way about it, take it up with the NFLPA and CBA. -
The worst part is that Slay has to remain on the active roster, so the Bills essentially have a 52 man roster now.

And if Beane tampered, there's a chance that 3rd round pick may have been his first selection of the draft. A draft we need to have picks to fill in the many holes we do have and will be opened after the year. Tampering for a washed up CB really wasn't worth the risk.
