Spiller had the one big year in 2012 with 1,700 (1,244 rushing and 459 receiving) total yards and 8 TD's. I thought he had turned the corner. He had another solid year in 2013 with 1,100 total yards, but only 2 TD's. Then he quickly faded off into anonymity.

No one's giving us anything for a guy under a 1 year contract with 5.43m in guaranteed money that's suspended for the first 6 weeks of the year.

If i recall, he was one strike away from a huge suspension. He had the hit and run. Plus he was arrested with a loaded firearm in his vehicle while in a state that prohibits it.

This post encouraged me to watch CJ Spiller highlights. He would’ve been a good complementary player on a decent team. Just wasn’t what we needed at the time, especially from a first round draft choice.

I am not a lefty. I am financial conservative. Reagan and Nixon would good presidents. Multoney and Harper were great prime ministers. It appears there were three camps: 1. Make him play his last year under contract. Let him walk. Plug in a new RB as they are easily and cheaply obtained. 2. $15M/year is way too much. If they come up with a reasonable deal, let’s do it. Cook is a difference maker. 3. Pay the man. Give him the $15M and make him happy, he’s worth it. I believe a very large percentage of Bills fans fall into camp #2. That’s where I fall and I’m happy with the deal they signed him to. It’s all the people in Camp #1 grumbling at the moment.
