Buffalo Sabres and the NHL: 2025 - 2026
ChevyVanMiller replied to Draconator's topic in Off the Wall
Not to my knowledge. I just hope he doesn't get in front of the cameras and say, "Well, we wanted to make trades and sign FAs, but it takes two to tango." It's time to get a GM that can make things happen. -

It will be over at 0-5. Another devastating loss to the Chiefs in the postseason, where despite investing basically an entire offseason to the defense, the defense gets ripped through like wet toilet paper again, and Pegula will fire McD. Folks on here will get histrionic and act like the Bills are the new Sabres, and the new head coach will instantly win 11+ games again and it will all be forgotten. -

Marty Shottenheimer was 5-13 in the playoffs. He is the only coach in NFL history with 200+ regular season wins and a below .500 playoff winning percentage....by a lot. That's a .278 winning %. Just because McDermott hasn't gotten to the Super Bowl doesn't mean he's as bad as the worst playoff coach of all time. -

Just like Buffalo lost the Bills in 1973. -
It accrues to Terry Pegula's yacht. Otherwise, no.

Wherever and whenever he went, "Abraham, Martin, and John" is a great song.

Right Field Bleachers Yankee Stadium is where the action is. Tons of funny, juvenile chants. Some skinny kid wearing glasses, dressed in red, will be walking up/down aisle, and people chant “We found Waldo! We found Waldo!” When opposing teams hit HR to short porch in right, we catch ball and throw back on the field! Right Fielder is pretty close. So we ride the right the fielder pretty hard all game. Some games you scan bleachers, and it looks like New Orleans- sometimes she gets monstrous ovation, and draws attention of players and broadcasters lol Pre 1998 I think, Right Fielder bleachers went on sale, 4:00, General Admission, $8. I’ve seen a few double headers for $8. General Admission- if you got early, you got the front row bleachers! You could reach over the wall. Then Jeffrey Maier did that- he preventing opponent from catching Jeter HR In 90s, I worked in CT, about an hour away from Yankee Stadium, if we beat traffic. My coworker Pat was a huge Yankees fan. I was manager of busy restaurant, and we had to get everything made, big cooler, with over a ton of seafood, organized and buried in ice, We had massive amount of seafood to prep. Some days we cut 500 pounds of Scrod for example. But the deal was, get it done proper, and we can leave. Pat would get so pumped up. Yanks are in town tonight we’d say. Must beat traffic, and get to stadium by 4:00. I’d show Pat the massive prep list for the day. It took most people until 5:00 to do our job properly. We would be done by 2:30, on the 95 by 2:35, and at Yankee stadium prior to 4:00. Pat kicked ass Yankees day s! We went to several games, every week 1992-2002, so we have seen dozens, if not over 100 games in right field field bleachers. It cost us $8, and gas, and parking. We’d bring food from work. We got to see some great Yankees teams and players. Great times!

I keep saying this and it's been said by others as well. McDermott is exactly like Marty Schottenheimer v2.0. He's the perfect coach to lead the Bills out of the drought and back to respectability much like Marty led the Chargers back to respectability. But poor Marty could never lead the Chargers over the next hump which was playoffs and super bowl, Exactly like McDermott People make fun of Rivers but he was a great QB in his day who was a victim of poor coaching. I'm afraid the same fate awaits Josh until we get rid of McDermott. The definition of insanity is to try the same thing over and over and expect a different result. Here we are in McDermotts 10th year and we keep expecting something different to happen. Please remember the lesson of Marty Schottenheimer and Philip Rivers. I pray we're not making the same mistake with McDermott and Josh -

Two speeding tickets in the last 90 days certainly is surprising -
Does unspent cap accrue to following years? I think GMKA is planning to go berserk when McDavid is a free agent in 2033.

Does anyone care about the "Super Fans?" If you attend games in an outfit, I look to specifically avoid you, not meet and greet you.

So far, it's been one backup goalie and a host of 4th liners and AHL players. -

“Trying to figure out how to get over the top” and “eliminating the weak link head coach” are not incongruous lol. But of course, you have to say “tear it down.” Just like Gary Kubiak “tore down” the Broncos after they fired John Fox after losing in the playoffs every year. Oh wait, no. They just won a Super Bowl. Just like when Jon Gruden “tore down” the Bucs after they fired Tony Dungy after losing in the playoffs every year. Oh wait, no. They just won a Super Bowl. but of course, with an elite QB and a GM I’m sure you think is excellent, it’s not just possible but LIKELY that firing McDermott is going to usher in a second era of darkness. Bizarro stuff. -
Are there any scantily clad Buffalo women there like Dragon con ?

I think Sanders is going to surprise many -
I’ll be in Bflo for the first time in six years on that date. If I had young kids to take it might be worthwhile, but not that excited about any scheduled event. Probably spend most of my time chowing down on the local foods I’ve been missing, and the rest of the time throwing up, since I’m not used to eating like that.

Brook Park is city of Cleveland adjacent, but to the Southwest so it does not border the lake. Its schools feed into the high school in Berea, which is the suburb where the Browns facilities are. The new stadium will be across the I-71 highway from Cleveland Hopkins Airport. -
Lamar might be one of the greatest regular season qbs in NFL history. But even he has admitted he gets tight in playoff games. You could be right. Mahomes is due for a off year.
