Fingon
Usually there shouldn't be much controversy among the final cuts, as the debates should be about which backups should have been kept. But when you cut two guys - Bryan & Stupar who clearly outplayed the starters, then you have to scratch your head. I'm not too worked up about Rhodes as he was at least choice #3 for FA) after Taylor & Jones turned the Bills down, or Chambers, but the other 2 clearly played well enough to earn a roster spot. Maybe Derek Fine can prove me wrong if he can stay healthy for more than a week or Schouman can do ... well, something. It's not to say that Stupar is the second coming, but he's certainly better that who was ahead of him. But hey now AVP gets to rearrange the chairs on ship Wilson. We'll see, but wasn't Stupar cut before we signed him? We might be able to stick him on the PS.

John Cocktosten
Why would you cut a pretty good player for no reason? Our sh#tty defensive philosophy is dropping 7 into zones and it is crucial that the front 4 gets pressure. Kelsey is part of the front 4. He gets no pressure. He has 4.5 in his last 2 seasons. He sucks. Now pass your bong.

I agree totally, Kelsay is a decent end. He is a good run stopper, and may not get sacks but does get a little pressure on the QB as the average DE in this league. There is more to the position than sacks, Kelsay can now come out on third down with Mabin around.

Instead of calling an electrician, I'll make sure to give you a call the next time i need to rewire my house. I'm sure TG could attest to how highly Donte is regarded around the league. John Gianelli
I agree, ho-hum. Not much gnashing of teeth over losing these guys. It makes me long for the late 80s/early 90s when there was a lot of suspense about who would be cut, because you knew they could start or at least compete on other teams. Well if you know anything about schemes then you would know that a slow DE with horrible agility, no pass rush moves and the complete inability to counter the initial puch of a Tackle does not fit in this defense. you suck at your habit, try smoking. Please tell me why he is good? Let's see what the scouts have to say about him, shall we? Kelsay has been a mainstay on the Bills' defense since his second season in the league in 2004. Kelsay is somewhat undersized but is a high energy player with good athleticism and instincts. He has great initial quickness to gain leverage early in the play with speed to close and run down plays along the line of scrimmage. He finds the level of the ball well to read and react to get to the pile. He has active hands to control blockers and is able to separate effectively to maintain gap responsibility. Kelsay isn't a naturally powerful defender but can set the edge effectively with technique, athleticism and effort. He runs well showing excellent range for his position. Kelsay is a solid pass rusher but has never been a big producer in this area.

Ramius
I love. The tards at OBD cut Stupar, the only TE we have with a knack for finding an open space and doing something with the ball, so we can keep two worthless pieces of sh-- in Schoumann and Fine. And then you know Nelson will barely see the field this season because "he's only a rookie." This is the biggest problem with dick jauron. He knows his ass is on the line, so he keeps worthless vets that make minimal mistakes, but minimal plays. Can't risk keeping a young player who may make some big plays, because he might make a mistake. I would have liked to see kelsay's ass get cut and someone like Bryan or Mace kept, but the worthless white warrior keeps his job because he's jaurons BFF. I also have no idea why wendling made the roster.
John Cocktosten
Let's see what the scouts have to say about him, shall we? "Kelsay is a solid pass rusher but has never been a big producer in this area." I'm glad you get your knowledge from Billy Bob's Scouting Service. They lost all credibility when they said the he is a "solid pass rusher"? He has 17 career sacks in 7 years! Then Billy Bob contradicts himself in the same breath by saying, "But he's never been a big producer in that area"?????? I don't know what to make of that statement. Here's a statement that makes sense, Kelsey is a terrible pass rusher totalling 10 sack in the last 3 years. Go back and watch the games bro. He's playing "Dancing with the Stars" with every RT he comes into contact with!
HurlyBurly51
Corto and Wendling could've been dropped for Bowen and Stupar. ThereIsNoDog
No major surprises, outside of Chambers. I had a feeling Kelsay would be kept over Bryan, although I didn't agree with it. And I was hoping they'd find a way to keep Derrick Jones. I also didn't see Stupar making it, but he can go on the PS. Bowen was a longshot after his injury. Sig1Hunter
There is no such thing as a DE in a Cover 2 defense who comes out on 3rd downs. Know what you are talking about before you open your a##hole! Geez, dude. Ever heard of diazepam? And, I believe that the Bills do rotate D lineman (to include the D ends) on obvious passing downs. So, to sub in a pass rushing specialist on a 3rd and 10 for the better run stopping end is an appropriate tactic. I don't see how the cover 2 defense has anything to do with it.
