Hopefully that arrogant piece of trash we call the commish is shown the door. Everything he does, including his attempts to squeeze every last cent from fans and now his lying on this issue wreaks of nothing more than complete and utter arrogance. HE deserves to go for trying to sweep this issue under the rug so no one remembers it, and then turning around and going on and on about how much the NFL loves women by wearing pink during October.

As a casual soccer observer, and someone who found they really liked the FA and Euro Cup finals last month, i found the opening game of the cup absolutely horrific, both the flopping and the reffing. Pathetic childish display by a bunch of small dicked brazilians. Games like that are why a large portion of americans simply cannot stand soccer. I was looking forward to the world cup, but watching that as the opening game for the tournament sucked a lot of life out of me. I'll watch 'Murica but i'm already having a tough time tuning into that crap.

Something does need to be done about the actual racing, because the 1.5 milers turn into a damn conveyor belt race. Nothings worse that a race like the all-star, where there are 2-3 care better than everyone else and they just get way ahead and there's no passing. That and seeing 13/43 cars on the lead lap is worthless. I have 2 kind of "radical" changes that might be cool. The first is regarding points. After the top 15 or 20, make tiers where everyone gets the same number. So 35-43 all get X number of points. 30-34 get a few more, etc. This prevents busted ass cars from coming out and simply turning laps. And frankly, 31st sucks as does 41st, so why should 31 get 10 more points? Both had horrible races. The second is way out of the box, but i think it'd be cool if that NASCAR tried out an elimination system on track during an individual race. Start the race, and at the 1/4 mark, the race is yellow flagged, and only the top 30 cars advance. After another 1/4, only the top 25 advance, and after 3/4, you're down to 15-20 cars left racing for victory. It would add some spice to the middle of the race.

Got a question for the soccer guys...I've watched a chunk of the FA cup final, the Euro Cup final, and then the tune-up game against azerbijan. Why do the styles of play between the Eruo squads and the 'Muricans look so different? Different philosophy, different coaching, difference in talent? The Euro squads had a "slower" paced game with lots of controlled passes, while the Americans ran around with their hair on fire.

Well, he's got the Heisman and National Championship already. He wants to play both football and baseball at the next level, like Deion. I don't see that happening. If he does stay in school, he's eligible to be drafted for baseball in June of 2015, so we'll see how it shakes out.

Jameis Winston said he's planning on staying 2 more years at FSU, instead of just one, as common knowledge seems to suggest. The reason? He wants to play 2 more years of baseball. He's playing now, and wants to also play next spring, which would interfere with the NFL draft process. Now, i could easily see him changing his mind after next football season, but he's no lock to enter the 2015 draft.

DT Timmy Jernigan, FSU (Junior): 6'2", 298 lbs Pros: Jernigan is a strong, nasty player. The kid is a bowling ball. He was the anchor of FSUs DL for the better part of 2+ seasons. Ignore his official "starts" because even when he didn't technically "start" he typically played the majority of the snaps. He's a penetrating DT, who disrupts the backfield in a hurry. He can play the run or the pass by blowing past the OL. Even though he's a smaller DT, he can hold the line due to his strength. He goes non-stop and makes plenty of plays away from the point of attack. If you watched the national title game, there was a marked difference between Auburn's run game when Timmy was in there and when he was out (he was suffering from the flu). Probably best suited as a 4-3 DT. Cons: He plays through the whistle, which led to a handful of personal fouls in the past few years. He probably needs to learn some better body control, often using his pure strength and athleticism to blow past college OLs. Other Notes: He made an instant impact on FSUs D, starting in his freshman season, due to his raw strength and athleticism. Here's a patented "Timmy Smash"

The Mike Williams was the negative comparison. I'm an FSU alum, still living in Tallahassee, but for sake of the draft, i try to be as balanced as possible and provide both sides good and bad in my player analysis. I honestly just don't know how his speed will stack up at the NFL level. If he can show speed, he'll be tough to stop. If he's just "college fast" then he'll definitely struggle.

WR Kelvin Benjamin, FSU (RS Sophomore): 6'5" 230 lbs Here's what my untrained eye saw: Pros: He's a huge, physically imposing target. He's a matchup nightmare for anyone. He'll outleap anyone for the ball. He uses his body down the field to hield the defender away. He's one of those guys that's "open when he's not open". He provided a huge, big play target downfield for both Winston and Manuel. He made huge strides this season from his freshman year. He became a better route runner and started to refine his game. He knows how to high point the ball, and catches more with his hands than his body. He's also not afraid to block. Cons: I have 2 big questions marks for Benjamin at the next level. 1, can he get separation off the line? Florida and Auburn had some initial success jamming him off the line, which he was able to overcome as the games went on. But he's not the quickest guy off the line. 2, how will his speed hold up at the next level? I dont know his 40 time and it'll be interesting to see what he clocks at. It's a concern to me because the NFL has eaten up talented big WRs that were "college fast" but not "NFL fast". I really can't say how fast he truly is. Other notes: He struggled a decent amount his freshman year, adjusting to the college game. It appeared that he was trying to rely on his physical tools early on like he was able to in high school. He didn't always put in a ton of effort and sometimes slacked when his number wasn't called. This year, he was a different player. You saw a complete effort whenever he was on the field. Positive Outlook: I think he's going to be one of those players that will take a season or 2 to be really good. He'll probably pay off in year 2 or 3 moreso that his rookie season. He still needs some development and needs more work on route running. If he puts the same effort in as he did this season, he's got a chance to be one of those big, uncoverable targets. Negative Outlook: He's one of those big WRs that's "college fast" and can't get the separation at the next level, and goes the way of a Mike Williams (USC).

I suppose so. He can hand off in Buffalo as well as he hands off at Alabama.

I had to laugh at 2 ridiculous SEC homers here at work, when they told me they didn't know if Jameis Winston can handle the pressure from a "real" defense in Auburn.

Jameis was a highly touted recruit. However, at the time of the alleged incident, he had yet to throw a pass or a pitch for a FSU team.

Plain and simple, if you go undefeated in a big BCS/power conference (and no, the AAC is not a big conference despite their soon-to-be-gone designation), you get preference over any and all 1-loss teams. So many people complain about the sanctity of the "regular season" and how if you lose a game then you have no rights to complain, yet these same people want to put a 1-loss team in the title game over an undefeated? Complete BS. Auburn is good, one of the best teams in the nation this year, but they lost a game. Ohio St didnt. Auburn lost to a very mediocre LSU team. Plus, if OSU beats Sparty (which should be a very tough win for them), it will give them a victory over a top-10 team. If FSU and OSU win next week, they should be playing for the title. As for scheduling, Auburn has just as horrible of an OOC schedule as Ohio St, so that point is moot. you're right about one thing. The biggest issue with the BCS was their moving target on what was needed to get into the national title game. Sometimes you needed to win your conference, other times, not. Sometimes a rematch was ok, other times not.
