How would you handle this WR Room for the rest of the season/playoffs?

Chill out with the constant tinkering, we’re heading into Week 16. 
 

Keon can’t get open, can’t make contested catches and looks like he shrinks himself to 5’8 when he needs to play through the DB to get to the ball.  Enough. 
 

Cooks, whatever.  Insane drop today.  X-Rays after the game because, why not?

 

Samuel, will he ever be healthy again?  Dont know.  Don’t care.  
 

Id go with the five I listed.  Davis is a good blocker and meshes well with Allen on scramble drills.   Palmer is a professional WR and actually for us a bucket on one play, at least, today.  Allen & Palmer desperately need to develop chemistry.  
 

Shakir, obviously.   Shavers as a blocker, ST’s and the occasional catch.   Hardman as KR, maybe PR, deep threat.  
 

If we want six, pick one of the above, but there’s 3 games left in the regular season… figure it out.   They’re not great but shuffling psychotically due to injury and personnel decisions has to stop.

I probably just send them deep on every play just to clear guys out for runs or an underneath receiver, with the odd chance they happen to beat their man and we get a big chunk. It’s pretty obvious Josh doesn’t trust many guys out in patterns to throw it up and make a play.

If cooks is healthy he’s out there 100x out of 100 over Hardman. He had the bobble but I’m going with it being a fluke. Guy can get separation. I’ve liked what I’ve seen.
 

Shakir has to be out there

I like Coleman in red zone packages but that’s about it.

Shavers is a great blocker and we run a lot so he can stay. Gabe and Palmer are interchangeable to me. Solid #4 WRs that don’t show up very often. One were overpaying and one came back to try and reignite his career.

Great question but outside of Shakir and maybe Davis, does it even matter? Even more headscratching was Gabe being inactive today! 

 

We are literally getting nothing from our WR group outside of Shakir and occasionally Gabe.  At this point in the season, I don’t expect it to be any different.

I wouldn’t want Hardman anywhere near the field. He’s barely been with the team and there’s no reason to risk a major screw up or fumble moving ahead. We have bad luck as it is and that’s just asking for trouble.

I just don’t see it with this dude. Feel like Shavers has made more plays than Palmer. At least Cooks is noticeably getting open. Where was this magical separation that we’ve heard about Palmer having? Hopefully he shows up in the playoffs. 
 

but I do agree with your premise even if I haven’t lost total faith in Coleman since he shows up big in the Red Zone and we’ll need that in the playoffs

Gabe - Playoff experience Josh Trusts him. Good blocker

 

Palmer- probably our best route runner even though he hasn’t been that impressive too me

 

Cooks-Our speed guy to stretch field

 

Coleman- blocker and redzone only. You still wanna see if you can unlock anything outta him. They’ve invested in him. If he shows nothing rest of season and playoffs, then I think you look into trading him for anything u can get this off season. 

 

all in all not a good situation at WR. Beane should be arrested for this smh

I’m done with Keon.  Get Gabe back in there.  Probably Hardman over Samuel for speed reasons, but hopefully we don’t need to go there.

Fixed it and I mostly agree but I wouldn’t trade Coleman. He’s worth more than we’d get but if we do draft a bunch of guys that outplay him than yes you can unload him

this is much what I was thinking as I read the OPs post, work in all three TEs, Cook & Ty, and keep the opponents guessing, it is really our only option, Jmo.

Can we just take ‘em all off the field and replace them with extra linemen or TEs that actually amount to more than just window-dressing? Then just run “schnowplow” wedge formations from here on out? ❄️🤔Maybe invent whole new offensive formations using pre-forward pass schemes as inspiration? Talk amongst yourselves!!
