Also, a player has to protect himself. He no doubt chose to stay in. His future health is on him too. Too Tee's credit he took himself out after the first one, pointing to his head. Perhaps at the point he is honestly trusting the medical doctors evaluating him and giving him the green light. Quote

Tua, on the other hand, didn't get evaluated until he got into the locker room at half time because the Dolphins staff was calling it a "back injury" and then basically ran interference for him on the independent consultant when they looked at the film. I know, it was just a joke. However, it was pretty clear Higgins smacked his head multiple times, even grabbing at his head while getting up. By Tua treatment, I mean that the team kept sending him out there with a "passed" e v a l Edited 9 hours ago by Herc11 Quote

If the argument is his concussion occludes this line of thinking, ok, I don’t know if that happens. But he’s pointing to his own head and knows what’s happening but too dumb to say live to fight another day? He has to shoulder some blame here. There are just players, many players, that have to be saved from themselves. Higgins is one. Allen is another. They want to be on the field if at all possible. Quote

The team and league look like fools for this. It's a semantics argument from the league. They need to stop answering "could they go back in?" And start answering "should they go in?" It's a resounding no. 1 Quote

This is on the Bengals and the NFL. 1 Quote
Playoffs? Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I haven’t read the whole thread, but is there any chance at all that he was NOT concussed today? Yes he has concussion issues, and yes he hit his head… but it is possible to not get a concussion when hitting your head. Are we making assumptions? Don't kill me for this… just playing the other side.. Quote

He hit his head. Held it in his hands, the announcers discussed it and he never even went into the tent. 1 Quote
Koufax Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago This was the worst farce travesty of the concussion protocol I have yet seen. Taking away any rooting interest this was proof that the protocol is not working in some pretty obvious situations. He was fresh off the protocol and suffered two additional concussive events in this game (let’s not be naive and pretend either are any less evident than the Jayden Daniel’s injury or that Drs know better than we do). Much like Tua staggering off the field, this sucked as a fan and as a human. Do better NFL. Quote
nedboy7 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago 3 likely concussions in couple weeks is terrible. Quote

I'd be all with you here if not for Higgins' uncharacteristic behavior aside from his TD catch. He dropped two or three easy catches, for him, and looked dazed after at least one other head smack against the ground. Quote

Then first game back, one of the very first hits he takes, he slams the back of his head on the ground, sits down hurt, and points to his head. He shouldnt have played another snap from there on out. Not to mention the multiple other hits he took this game where he pointed to his head. Quote

I've been reading the Bengals forum and the fans on there have been calling out the coaching team/medical staff for not taking Higgins out of the game for concussion too. Quote
BobbyC81 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Like the Tagioviola situation the league should investigate. Quote
