Bills start two backup Tackles vs the Steelers pass rush, and TJ Watt was a ghost out there

At the very least, if Brown is seeing stars on the sideline again, you know you have some depth. I felt he was pushed back in versus Hou and he still looked....uh....shook.

Lots of rose colored glasses around here now. What I saw was that Anderson is a mauler in the run game but his pass pro was terrible. Van Demark's play is definitely of backup quality. I love how some seem to completely lose sight of reality.

Anderson is not an NFL RT and struggled, but you have to commend him for contributing to the win and finding a way. 

 

The quality of OL play around the league is so bad, Van Demark deserves a shot to start somewhere. He is at the very least serviceable. He looks a lot better on the left side than he does on the right imo. 

 

I am the anti-hope guy, but I think those two deserve some credit for contributing to the win and making it through in a tough spot.

Those two backups did great yesterday and the ENTIRE locker room knew it. You could see Josh congratulating them right at the end of the game. He knows.

I get Dawkins is popular, does community stuff,but its been broken down how for I guess weeks now, he gives up on blocks early.   Several have seemed to wonder if he is just about the popularity vs. Being a great football player anymore.   Not good when those questions arise for the guy protecting your QB's blind side.

 

When you get called for phantom holds all season long you tend to let go at that point to try to not get called.

We don't know that. According to Joe Marino, reporters said immediately after the Houston game that he seemed a bit off in the postgame interviews.

The OL played well, but they were also fortunate that the Steelers couldn't figure out how to stop the run, even though they knew it was coming all game long. A better opponent probably would have done a better job of locking it down after the half.

In my mind Anderson's future is revolving on whether he can be the LG next year.

What are your thoughts on that?

 

It's good he can sub in at RT if necessary.

As a RFA next year, is a 2nd round tender too much for him?  I'm thinking not.  Having him in camp next year would be great.

One bad game and some false starts, with hazy circumstances around it... no, I think this is an insane jump to throw this out there.

Trading Dawkins in the spring results in a $22M dead cap hit.

I don't see that happening.

 

The young guys did great.  But teams don't have a lot of film on them.

Long term is no guarantees.

 

I believe the offseason will be interesting on the OL, Dawkins being traded however I put at zero percent.
