Agreed. Burrow won’t be the complete mess that the Steelers were at QB. It’s going to be an epic high scoring game in my opinion with no pass rush on our side and Josh having to put on his cape all game 1 1 Quote
reddogblitz Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I expect the Bengals to do what Miami did. Load up the box with 8 or 9 and dare us to beat them with the pass. They'll also cheat guys in to stop the passes behind the LOS. It's gonna take some good strategery to beat this but it's doable. Hopefully some good scramble drill plays and quick hitting passes to guys schemed open somehow. More passes to Cooks. I like the idea of keeping Turf Toe Joe off the field, but if we go this route we have to score TDs. Can't have drives stalling out or settling for too many FGs. If Coach McDermott and his defense can slow down Burrow, Higgins and Chase they deserve something really great. Should be an interesting/tough game. Hoping for a Bills win. Quote

If our offense plays like they did against KC and we control the game script, I think we win. But if we are in a tit for tat battle or fall behind I think we are toast. 1 Quote

Cook is second in the league [to McCaffrey] in carries, so that horse has left the barn. 231 carries through 12 games, Last season he had 207 for the 17 game season. He's on pace for 325 carries and that's not factoring teams run more in cold weather and we have three more home games plus at NE & @ Cleve outdoors. I do worry with all the outdoor games, our nicked up lineman are not going to be at full strength. 1 1 Quote

The Bills defense isn't stopping the Bengals. So, running the ball and controlling the clock which the Bills should be able to do as the Bengals defense also sucks will protect the Bills defense. Burrow isn't dangerous if he is sitting on the bench. 1 Quote

Plus our DL and OL got dominated and pushed around. It was so bad our guys looked like we were slipping and wore wrong cleats. Playing on skates. 172 yards on the ground was cincys 2nd highest total of the year. Buffalo also had more penalties and lost in time of possession by about 8 minutes. Fact is dorsey was gone midway through the next season because he would fall into bad pass heavy habits. Frazier was literally fired for this game plan. As for their defense bottling up buffalo - Reader gone Bates gone Pratt gone Wilson gone Hilton gone Hubbard gone Hendrickson out Hasn't been that long but teams change pretty quickly in the NFL. 2 Quote

Of all these, I'm most glad Reader is gone, along with Anarumo. Both of them had our number. Without having to face them, I don't see why the Bills wouldn't plan another Pittsburgh job. I mean, the Bengals are giving up 160 ydg rushing, the worst in the league. It's not brain science, especially with the incentive to keep an explosive offense off the field. (Imagine Allen throwing to Chase and Higgins instead of the cast of Gilligan's Island. Now THAT would be an explosive offensive.) The hard part will be to keep the run game going if Burrows quickly scores TDs on every possession. What a weird game that would be: lightning drive/plodding drive, lightning drive/plodding drive. BEANE! Couldn't you have found Allen even ONE wide receiver? 1 Quote

I'm not optimistic about our defense this game Idk maybe we get a couple turnovers and jump ahead of them quick but that's all I got If the defense does stop the Bengals, I'll feel better about the playoffs 2 Quote

Talent trumps culture. Look at teams they have won a Super Bowl the last few years. They have elite playnakers on both sides of the ball. A lot of times elite playnakers tend to have a bit of a Diva attitude. For some reason, McDermott, Beane and many in the fan base don't want anything to do with that. Quote
Dillenger4 Posted 55 minutes ago Posted 55 minutes ago I hope we get to see Cooks make some catches and go off on a weak Bengals D. Shakir too. Then mix in a pounding run game. I'm not worried about their offense. It's easy to read according to most DC's in this league. Bottle Chase and let Burrow scramble... we will pound these guys! 2 Quote

Burrow laughs at McDermott's defensive scheme and then destroys it. The Bills need to shorten the game, and they can do that with Cook running. It's how the Giants beat the Bills in the Super Bowl. I think the TOP was 40 minutes to 20 minutes. They hogged the ball that day. 1 Quote
