according to Heyward after the game, Allen "intentionally" knee-ed on his stomach on an earlier play and he got no protection "like a quarterback." He went off on Allen every chance he got after that.

Allen didn't back down of course. I thought Allen/Heyward exchange this game might be what turned the game around from emotional standpoint for the Bills.

Cry me a river Heyward. This might be the single biggest reason they lost and he cost the team the game.

I rewatched it a bunch of times in the moment to try and see what happened. Josh is on the ground on his back with his knees bent up and Heyward on top of him. It was tough to see with all of the bodies, but it did not appear to be a kick or anything, just Josh extending his legs to kind of push Heyward off of him...something that happens in tons of pile ups. Maybe Hayward felt Josh pushed a little too hard (Heyward was also being pulled off of Josh by Bills linemen at the time too), but it wasn't a dirty move, it was a "get off of me" moment that happens all the time. He just took offense to it as if Allen was trying to purposefully do something. I could not see anything egregious in any way, imo.

Yeah from watching the video, sounds like it was intentional, but not in an attempt to be dirty, Allen was just trying to get him off him.  I suppose it's possible at the same instant Allen extended his knee, Heyward maybe fell forward, so can see that hurting more. But if Allen is on the bottom, hard to see how he can inflict much energy.

I’m sure Allen isn’t a choir boy out there. I kind of assumed he didn’t  get a 15 yard penalty when he slid because the refs hear what’s going on. and also he has a rep for being a bit of an actor.  But i personally thought the defender should’ve been flagged on that play.

My thought too. Pretty sure Heyward was yapping to the refs as well all game and Heyward didn't have a bad reputation in the league. But most of us think it is over blown, even some former Steelers like Chris Hoke who theorized that maybe Allen did it in a way not repectful to the "older statesman of the game."

Steelers might want to focus on playing some run D vs an OL missing OTs.. it’s a rough game this football. I would have thought 97 was more of a class guy. Impressively soft deflection ..

Excuses. Pittsburgh came out & was extra physical w/ Josh & the Bill's, then didn't like it when they got a taste of their own medicine. If anything the Steelers played dirty. Don't believe a word a cry baby like Heywerd says.

Agree w/ you that Josh fed off that exchange. Kind of like Michael Jordan would do.

The pit DL was embarrassed today. When watt says he’s never seen a team play the same play successfully….DL simply couldn’t stop them, even when they knew the play.

Cam definitely needs a box of kleenex lol.
I mean this guy is like 320+ pounds and gets arms, legs and feet flung into him all game from all directions and he’s crying about Josh Allen’s knee trying to get him off ? This is hilarious.

Really doubt it was intentional. Never heard of anything like that before. Heyward needs to get over himself.

Clearly, you've never seen Mac Jones play before.

I love Allen, football player who coincidentally plays QB.

Oh boo hoo, your 300 pound body is on top of him and he used his knee to try to get you off.  What a cry baby. Thanks Cam for getting our QB fired up.

I can see how he'd be offended by Josh trying to get him off with his knee.  That some Christian Wilkins type stuff right there.
