I bet Aaron Schobel still has some juice left

Kelsey would be good right now actually. He was a good run asset.  Schoebel got after the QB well as an end but that was a wonky system. He wouldn't fit in here.

Our defense is really weird and I don't like it. Haven't ever.

First time made sense.  Left got paid didnt work out. Came back for cheap.  Same with Phillips, and now with Davis and Poyer.  There is a real problem at edge.  There isnt a better option on the other 31 teams practice squads that offer more juice or upside?  It’s becoming post dynasty Patriots level of comfortability with roster moves and success.  Cutting guys 3 and 4 times and bringing them back post trade deadline is becoming a horrible trend.

Why do we have coaches then?

I get you are looking for silver lining, but this is just insane to me. He played 7 games in 2023 for us, had 1 sack and 7 tackles. But he did his required stop in Carolina for one game last year and now hes back.

The FO and coaching staff are unable or unwilling to find new talent. Its why this team will fail again. I've defended this FO and coaching staff for years, but this is just malpractice and embarrassing. There is no one else? No young talent hungry for an opportunity? No one you scouted or could sign from a PS? Nope, need that rotational guy from 3 years ago who wasn't good then.

I cannot hate this move more

They recently brought in Fox. They signed Bosa, Hoecht and Ogunjobi in the offseason.

You sign a dude off of another team's practice squad and they immediately go on the 53 without having any knowledge of our system.  You can roll guys like Shaq and Phillips right onto the field in a break glass in case of emergency situation.

I have complaints with how they've drafted and constructed the roster over the years, but can't find too much to complain about with these type of emergency signings.

If they bring back Shaq Lawson I think it says a lot about the leadership void they feel they have.  He hasn't played football in over a year.

Neither has Brandon Aiyuk and people have suggested if/when he's waived we pursue him.

here's to hoping a veteran DT who can actually take on double teams and help against the run becomes a UFA in the coming weeks

If Christian Wilkins is in playing condition he could fill that role. Hmmm did he play with Shaq at Clemson?

The system is way too complicated, probably won't be able to get up to speed by seasons end!🙄

I doubt the Bills have interest

Which is a damn shame! Belichek would have turned him into Wolfork by now.

Im so ready to move on from so many things, these type of going back to guys moves for sure.

The Schobel we saw playing with a lot more power later in his career might have been a good fit here. Although McDermott probably wouldn't have cared for the many times Schobel would have inevitably told him to ***** off.
