Playing a physical fast defense on the road on a short week. Gotta hold Davis Mills below 20 points. That's how you win this kind of game. 1 Quote

Impossible, only 6 out of the 11 teams the Texans have faced managed to do that! 3 Quote
MPT Posted 51 minutes ago Posted 51 minutes ago Brady is terrible. But Josh also has to get rid of the ball. Throw your receivers open if they're not open right away. Make the defensive backs make plays or get PI. He put very little pressure on their coverage while making it really easy for their line. Quote

Houston has lost 5 games this year where they scored 9, 19 (x2), 10, and 15. They barely won scoring 16 against an awful Tennessee team last week. FWIW I obviously agree with you, I want more out of this offense. I just don't know what anyone expects. We intentionally hired a green OC who happened to already be in the building and we've surrounded Allen with JAGs. Why is anyone expecting us to score more than 20 on the road on TNF against an elite defense? That was never going to be the winning game script for this one. If we wanted that to be the game script we needed to approach the offseason spending in the complete opposite direction. 1 1 1 Quote
Dr.Sack Posted 44 minutes ago Posted 44 minutes ago Kincaid + Keon had great games today. Sadly one is made of glass and the other is made out of putty. Quote

Bferra13 Posted 38 minutes ago Posted 38 minutes ago That tends to happen when you literally run every first down and have zero creativity in your play calling for 3/4 of the game. Its no surprise the receivers were blanketed. Play calling is brutal and Joe Brady is most likely just doing what McDermott is telling him for the most part. But the whole situation sucks. Quote

Or an offense! We have a bad defense AND a pitifully inconsistent offense. If we could have just ONE good side of the ball, that would be nice. And no i’m not impressed by beating up and dropping 40 on the bad teams. Quote

Nihilarian Posted 29 minutes ago Posted 29 minutes ago The Buffalo Bills have the talent we all saw that last week against the Bucs, who might not have the #1 defense but are a good team at 6-3. What we saw Thursday night was the same thing we saw against Atlanta, pressure on the QB, and nobody open. The thing is, Atlanta is 3-7 and a bad team with around the 20th defense. This season, these losses are all on Joe Brady in not doing a good enough job. Now, perhaps it's because he doesn't have enough experience but that's BS. This is basic stuff to create against a heavy rush, blitzing opponent. Quick outs to just move the chains and not go for a big play when there is no time in the pocket to throw. Brady needs to go or be demoted, as he turned Superman into Clark Kent with his piss poor offensive game planning. Screw this promoting from within crap as McDermott needs to hire a top DC and OC. This was the year to win the Super bowl, and it looks like it might go to the Patriots...again! What McDermott doesn't get is in that hiring top assistants will also help in the drafting process to gain their insight into the quality of the players they need. Quote

The problem with Daboll is that he was a one-trick pony in that if the defense stopped or shut down his passing game plan, he had no plan B. Very little effort in game planning the run game. Don't get me wrong, as he would design some brilliant passing schemes. Clearly he didn't think enough of the run game to utilize it properly and he even allowed the Giants to trade away Barkley to a division rival. Brian Daboll isn't the answer as he might only be good as a passing game coordinator just like Joe Brady looks to be only a run game coordinator. A Greg roman clone! Quote
