When has Higgins shown to be a number 1?

He’s been roughly 1k guy with 7+ TDs while playing “behind” Chase. Higgins to me is a top 20 WR. The Bills deal Torrence and a pick. I’m not sure if he’s the perfect fit but it just feels like such a natural match from a trade standpoint. They can’t pay another OL. Torrence is going to get $20M+ AAV. The Bengals desperately need help there. The Bills then keep McGovern & Edwards. Anderson plays RG.

If we go round 1 WR a guy I really like is Chris Bell out of Louisville

He feels like the guy to me too. The value would seem to match. He’s like a bigger, rich man’s Shakir kind of IMO. They’d need another guy with some suddenness off the los imo.

I like the guy, but he is a hothead and doubt, McBeane have an appetite for it, and we need WRs from the draft, not $30 mil. from free agency.  They have to try extend McGovern and Edwards.  After this year’s extensions, we don’t have the $ for a big ticket item.

it may seem boring, but WR#1, LB#2, and S#3 are top priorities.  Extend our excellent inside guys and even Torrence will be coming soon are optimal.

I tend to agree, but Pickens is such a perfect match for what we need on the field...

George Pickens will be a free agent next year.  He’s averaging about 100 yards per game in his first season with a competent QB.  I understand the character concerns, but this is a proven boundary receiver at the peak of his career.  Cost will probably be $30 million per…

Should the Bills be interested? Can we afford it?  Will the Cowboys franchise tag him?

I get the WR1 need and am still furious about Beane not trading for Waddle if the reports were true.  However, I REALLY don't want George Pickens in a long term deal.  The character concerns in Pittsburgh to the point where they would trade such a talented player at a premium position are a huge red flag.  He took plays off.  He pouted when he wasn't force fed the ball.  He showed up late for meetings, practice, and even before games.  The players in the locker room weren't fond of him from the reporting that came out.  He may be happier in Dallas where it's warmer, he has more to do, and is a dysfunctional organization.  Giving him a huge contract would be a catastrophic mistake imo.

There is no way in hell that Beane is going to shell out market value for a top-flight free agent WR in today's market. The value for the spend is just not there.

Agree with the first sentence but not the second.

Beane doesn't trust himself in the draft with WR's and it's why if they don't go the free agency route they're stuck looking at the trade market or hoping to hit lightning in a bottle as a plan.

Trades are gonna cost higher draft picks and likely mean a contract extension to justify that cost.  And they're not moving up in the draft from 25 or lower to get an elite prospect either.

At the same time, a WR1A/1B would be the biggest force multiplier on the field because it'll give Josh a real passing weapon.  It would free up other receivers.  It would make defenses respect the whole field.  It would give them a quick strike offense to put opponents on their feet.  It would force opponents to keep up with Josh and that offense and most cannot.

I'm not optimistic their thinking has changed regardless.

According to the reports we offered them a first round pick and a third round pick which is well enough for waddle

The dolphins aren't going to trade their best offensive player arguably to their longest term divisional rival

I'm 100% certain it wasn't the offer we gave them it was that we are the Bills.. if in NFC team offered what we did I bet they take it

He's not likely to be available without compensation, nor do i think they can afford him.  Figure they need 1 slot WR depth piece, and 1 boundary player.

Free agents of note:

Pickens - 35-40M AAV.  Almost has to be a franchise tag with Dallas, or a team with a QB on rookie deal.

Jennings  - Probably not interested at the price, don't think he's upgrade over palmer.

Shaheed - Probably not interested at that price

Pierce - Could be a casualty of the Jones extension.  I like this guy.  Not sure he'll turn into a stud, but he's an upgrade imo.

Robinson - Doesn't seem an upgrade over Shakir.

Doubs - Meh?

Kirk - If he's cheap and healthy, i like him behind shakir.  Keyword is healthy, i don't see the point in the samuel money for example.

Guys who will potentially be available based on contract terms - either via trade or cut:

Tyreek Hill - Almost guaranteed cut coming off injury at his massive hit.  Coming off his least productive year before that, i'd expect him to sign with KC though.

Chris Olave - Trade and extend, assuming he makes it clear he won't extend with New Orleans.

Chris Godwin - Hamstring issues, ACL, screws in his ankle... probably not interested

Davante Adams - Probably the most interesting player on here that i'd expect released.  At his age he's a 1-year mercenary while Buffalo continues to search for young players in the draft.  Father time is undefeated though, so you don't want to be the one holding him when he falls off a cliff.

Cooper Kupp - Hasn't been healthy in 4 years and the name will garner a premium on his contract. Nope.

DJ Moore (Potentially a trade target) - Between top picks and money, they have a lot tied up at QB, WR, and RB.  Could use the picks from a trade like this to add some young impact players on the offensive and defensive line.

Darnell Mooney - Not a priority signing from atlanta.  If he can be had on the cheap, he represents a similar player to what you can get from samuel and moore.

Darius Slayton - Nabers returns, they could bring him back.  I don't see him as an upgrade over palmer

Tee Higgins - Deal is structured in a way that he's very easily tradeable in the offseason in 2026 with a 12.9M cap hit for the acquiring team. I'm not saying cincy  SHOULD do this, but having the lowest ranked defense in football isn't helped by carrying 26M cap hits for WR2's.  If he's flipped for picks it can help roster build as they get into the meat of those burrow/chase extensions.

Both Pickens and Lamb were benched for the first series against the Raiders last week, don't know the reason why.

Is Alec Pierce a true number one? Does his style of play align with Josh?

Forget all these maybes and wannabes, go for the Moon as in Bengal's #1 Ja'Marr Chase is thoroughly fed up with playing on a losing team and stated he wants out.

What would it take? Three number ones? DOOO EEET!

Pickens priced himself into the spending of only a handful of WR needy teams.

Someone is going to shell out a fortune.

If Terry McLaurin got a near $100m contract, Pickens should surpass that. I’d bet the DK Metcalf contract of $130m.

He's played great in Dallas opposite CeeDee Lamb. Yet he struggled at times in Pittsburgh and had a bit a diva personality. Personally I don't think he deserves WR1 money. Is he an improvement, yes? Is he a significant improvement and aligns with our offense? To me no and if meant preventing re-signing Bosa? Yeah no thanks.

His problems in Pittsburgh were how he was handled. Is he a diva? Sure. No question.

But when the team is lackluster in the WR room and you’re the only guy consistently capable of making sensational plays and are an afterthought, I get the resentment or boiling point he was at.

Not condoning any of his childish actions but he is just that, a young man who’s still learning how to handle and carry his emotions. A lot of the guys in the league are.

His best play in Dallas game when CeeDee went out. Showed his true value and capability for a #1 guy.

The only point I agree with the money would be his antics. Then again, think how many unhinged and emotionally volatile players got big contracts in the league.

If you pay him, keep him targeted lol

George Pickens gave the Steelers trouble with his behavior and personality.  in Dallas, on the field, he benefits from having a legitimate WR1 on the field in Lamb.

If the Bills are interested in WR1 in free agency or trade, they need to look at players who have excelled in a WR corp similar to the Bills, where you've got two slot receivers (Shakir, Coleman) under contract, and that's about it.

Im also an Alec Pierce guy. He’ll get around where Palmer got or a little more.

Pierce will get $20M per year IMO. Maybe even closer to $25M. He's on track for 1,200 yards and his skill set is very highly valued by the NFL. I'm not sure I would pay that much for him when I could have Pickens for $10M per year more.

Pierce is 3rd in pecking order in Indy behind Pittman and Warren. He wouldn't be a guy I'd over pay for as been behind Downs in Indy too.

I do think Pickens could be signed for $30M…his past antics will reduce his value, especially when we are talking about a 4-year deal for that kind of money.  I suspect Dallas will franchise-tag him ($28 million) if they can afford to do so.

this guy was too much of a head case for the Steelers to handle— a team that has the most experience handling the biggest head case WRs?!

I don’t think Beane will suddenly go anti-process for a guy like this.

Yeah this is my fear right here. I'd like to think Beane has learned his lesson but I don't know if McDermott is willing to accept a volatile personality in the locker room. Of course volatile personalities win championships so I hope McDermott will let his proverbial hair down a little.

He's had moments in KC but not shown to be a reliable option in the passing game. No thanks.

Not familiar at all w cap ramifications or if it’s financially feasible but AJ Brown seems very unhappy in Philly. He may need/want a change of scenery. JMO

If he's upset in Philly for not getting target he isn't going to fit here.
