We look terrible, the Patriots are apparently "back," Allen doesn't seem like himself - I'll grab onto literally anything at this point.  There is a thin tether to sports sanity at the moment.

Gabe was exactly the WR he was expected to be if you watched him in college.  I just randomly watched a lot of UCF games due to living where I do.  I think the majority of the problem is people expected something he wasnt.  He is a 4th round Wr. Not bad for where he was drafted. Def beat the odds. Just my opinion.

Despite this, Shakir out targets him 58 to 49. 
 

If they benched Keon, I think Davis and Palmer would see an uptick, but Keon would still rotate in. Shakir would likely still be Allen's top choice when he is in. 

Maybe Keon gets more snaps because he's a better run blocker and considering we run more than pass it makes sense he on field more.

His performance in 13 seconds caused people to increase their expectations. He was awesome that game and think many thought he'd be the ideal size/red zone target WR he showed in that game maybe akin to a T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

There has to be something there, something they want/expect him to grow into. I hope something clicks for everyone’s sake regardless of fault

Go on Youtube and watch a bunch of game summary videos from 2020 - 2023 and one of the things that stands out was how often you see Davis either making a big catch to convert 3rd down or score a TD. And he did it in the playoffs to.

 

I agreed 100% with Beans decision not to pay Davis 13 million per year.  His production and other issues did not warrant that level of pay.  But if he can return to near his pre-injury production then he will be the best WR on this years team.  It's not saying much other then it would be a big upgrade from the current low floor.

Won't matter as long as Mcdermotts around. Any OC is going to be required to run the ball on at least 50 percent of the plays and a minimum of 98 percent on first downs. Also no more than two passes a game over ten air yards. TD drives of less than five plays are grounds for immediate termination. Even if they start on the opponents one yard line.

Its embarrassing to have that guy on the roster let alone getting any meaningful snaps. Especially when Moore is better suited for these clearing routes.... and ill indications pointing to Elijah atleast "caring."

 

....after 15months of standing around holding his hand while hes hurt or "hurt" or whatever is going on.

 

Im guessing ther are cap implications that prevent us from cutting him, but if there isnt hes the perfect player to "execute" in front of everyone else -- via the waiver wire. I know its not in our DNA but he should be snornfully cut in front of the whole team. Embarass him, even if he doesn't care.

 

 

Curtis Samuel has been straight trash for us and a waste of money. I had hopes for him but hes nothing but a JAG. Elijah is better but they keep running those dumb jet plays I feel like he knows more routes than that.

BUT on this offense, this year...where would he slot in now? Maybe you could force an argument that Palmer would be WR1? But that would likely be Gabe at....WR2 again.

im probably the boards biggest Gabe “hater” but the dude has made some amazing toe taps on the sideline. His problem has always been consistency with his hands and not being on the same page as Allen.

I think it’s the mental beat down from McD over the past few years. Always trying to get him to stop running. Always worried about the turnovers and not taking account the amount of big plays and TDs that occurred from the same playstyle. Then trying to turn him into Tom Brady dink and dunk etc. 

 

the dude is probably in constant conflict between what he wants to do and what the coach is telling him to do. You can see this all the time in his hesitation. I’ve been saying it for over a year now and it’s gotten worse this year.
