I'd rather see him rip the ball and hit them in the face and teach them a lesson It was 3rd down and neither of those routes gets them to the sticks against that coverage. If Allen doesn't bail from a clean pocket and keeps his eyes downfield where they belong, that's an easy 6 on the flag for Samuel. 1 1 Quote
EssexBill Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) He’s got $9.6m guaranteed money, he can probably buy his entire Hicksville home town and a new yellow jacket for that so he can’t be bothered anymore, he wouldn’t be the first player to get some money and then lose focus Edited 2 hours ago by EssexBill 1 Quote
Walking Tall Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think as soon as Gabe is healthy, Keon’s days with this team will be over. 1 Quote
EssexBill Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Samuel is the baffling one to me, everyone is saying our receivers can’t get open but I remember when he came to us from Washington a big deal was made about how much separation he got, what the hell happened? That's true but we are talking about how disheveled the offense looks If those looks are available at points during the game Josh needs to take them... And he has passed up open stuff and held the ball at points this year You are correct about if he kept his eyes downfield though ... This offense is just missing rhythm right now Brady needs to help his best player out more... Does Brady think some of this effort level is okay? He should have Josh Allen's back Edited 1 hour ago by Buffalo716 Quote

We’re going to have capable run blocking WRs on the outside. That’s just how it is. Palmers return will hopefully lessen his snap count unless he turns it around quickly whether or not that’s a good idea or not, 🤷🏻♂️, but that’s hour offense and that’s why he’s out there. Is he though? I think Shavers would be better at everything Keon does, actually. Quote

Brady said “call it an effing Brady Route”. what other offense tells their WRs something like this? I’m guessing none, and I’m sure it has something to do with Coleman jogging and our passing offense being terrible. I mean, blown coverage, teams not respecting the deep routes, there’s so many reasons a guy running a deep clearing route…. Could still be thrown the ball. I didn't watch Hard Knocks, but now I want to rage watch it! Dissect all the poor coaching advice. 2 minutes ago, EssexBill said: Samuel is the baffling one to me, everyone is saying our receivers can’t get open but I remember when he came to us from Washington a big deal was made about how much separation he got, what the hell happened? It was absolutely no reason not to. I don't know that worthy would have been the best fit for our offense, in McConkey is a slot guy would have taken reps from Shakir. But having both of those two on this team over Coleman would be a vat improvement I was thinking more like getting Troy Franklin later, and even ad Mitchell at some point since he fell so far That was me. I wanted to draft pure deep speed as the second WR picked I also wanted two DTs and one being a pure 1 tech Shame this Coleman Kids has let the Bills and nearly everyone down. Close the casket and move on. McD needs to make him to poster kid as to why he is being benched. Lack Of. Josh even looked frustrated at him sunday. Just my observation. A day he need some help and Keon is just doing his thing on the routes. He could have been more than this I think , but effort and commitment to excellence are just not there. PayDaBill$ Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) But.. but.. but.. he looks spectacular in a yellow puffer coat! Seriously i really wanted to like this kid & have him turn it around but after keying on him the last few games I see he’s lazy and truly lacks skill. He’s gotten this far on size and athleticism but at this level it takes more. Edited 2 hours ago by PayDaBill$ 1 Quote

An MVP qb, no real WR competition or pressure around him, and the entire city looking for him to step up. What more could you ask for to get some effort? He just doesn't have what it takes to be a #1 and Beane, McD and Allen should've know because every other team did. I'm sure he'd be fairly respectable if he had a true #1 on the other side like Gabe Davis did with Diggs when he was here. People want him to be something he's not and it's weighing on everyone, including himself. I'm pissed too, but he didn't asked to be overdrafted, but here we are. 1 Quote

But regardless WRs and pass catchers need to feel/look like viable targets each and every down. They ALL do. That is how defenses adjust and how you fool them next play. But you know that Everyone needs to seem a threat. 11 minutes ago, transplantbillsfan said: Is he though? I think Shavers would be better at everything Keon does, actually. Why not ? MasterStrategist Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 1 hour ago, CincyBillsFan said: No he isn't. Everyone keeps posting about how "Allen pushed for Coleman" when there isn't the slightest proof that happened. And in fact it goes against how low key Allen appears to be in these things. And please don't link to the article saying how Allen sent Coleman a text saying "welcome to the Bills" and he was looking forward to "working with him". That's what every QB would do. And it's no big deal that the text went out before the Friday draft started as the Bills had the first pick that day. You don't have to be Ian Rappaport to figure out what probably happened. Bean told Allen in the days leading up to the draft that the Bills were going to take a WR with their #1 pick. I'm sure Allen got excited and Bean then probably told Allen what the parameters were going to be and who was likely going to be available at that point and he asked Allen for his opinion. Obviously an athletic, big bodied WR was the Bills greatest need and would appeal to Allen. And given that the Bills had Shakir guys like MaConkey would be less appealing. But Allen didn't vet these receivers the Bills scouting staff did. Allen likely got sheets with the pros & cons of the guys who the Bills were thinking of selecting late in the 1st round. Do you or anyone else believe for one minute that Bean went to Allen and said "hey Josh we want to draft a WR in the 1st round and we're vacillating between moving up in the draft and taking one of the studs or staying put and taking one of the guys late in the 1st" and Allen then pushed back and said "Brandon I love this guy Coleman, lets just stay put and pick him". If you haven't figured this out by now Allen is the consummate Company man. He will support whatever senior management wants to do. Josh was interviewed pre draft, id have to search for it. He specifically mentioned some potential Rd 1 WRs that stood out to him --- and that he is a "draft junkie", (Josh himself). Keon' name was thrown out there by Josh when rattling off names. Thats why he is linked + his text to Keon after he was picked, saying he was his man. It doesn't matter at this point. Beane isnt giving Allen the full say on a 1st round pick, Beane and his scouts must've really liked him (Allen's feedback part of overall decision). Beane has missed on his last 4 substantial FA/draft picks--- Kincaid (too fragile), Keon, Samuel, and Palmer. Thats after hitting on Smoke, Beas, and trade for Diggs -- earlier in Joshs career. Its quite simple ,-- Beanes decision making is going downhill, is that linked to some high level co workers now gone Joe Schoen, Dan Morgan, etc)? Quote

In retrospect though, McConkey would be a significant upgrade over Shakir in the slot and while that isn't what we were looking for, it would be nice to have even if Shakir is a decent player himself.
