They have a similar WR complement as the Bills do...no big name guys, just a bunch of guys who all have different roles. Agree they do .much better than the Bills do at getting their guys open, especially down field. Quote

I’ve looked and I am thinking we may not see the playoffs. At least 4 more (TB, Philly, NE, and probably Houston because of their D). Maybe 5. 1 Quote

Strethor Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Let the sky fall now, the team will be better in the long run. Now whats not good is the roster construction. It's sad as a fan to feel like Josh's prime may be fully wasted - however that makes the pressure more to make this work this year. 1 Quote
dhgold Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Here to rant, not listen. Glass is 2/3 empty. The Bills have played up to expectations against the Jets, the Panthers and the Chiefs. They played 10 inspired minutes against the Ravens but were otherwise outclassed. They played below expectations in the first Dolphins game and against the Saints. They were outplayed losing at home to the Patriots and were downright bad against the Falcons and in the second Dolphins game. The defense has been shakey almost the entire season, is ravaged by injury and won't have Hoecht and Oliver, arguably its two biggest difference makers this year, for at least the rest of the regular season. Special teams are mediocre at best. With the exception of Shakir, Cook and Kincaid, all offensive skill players have disappointed and Cook and Kincaid are showing signs of over usage. Really ripping the bandaid off here: even Josh Allen has not been played up well, let alone up to his standards of the previous five seasons. Coaches have shown little ability to right the ship. I feel considerably less optimistic about the Bills prospects at this point in the season than in any year since 2020. At no point this season have the Bills demonstrated the sort of sustained excellence that I would need to see in order to drink the Kool Aid and convince myself that they're capable of making a Super Bowl run. 2 2 Quote

The glass is 2/3 empty because our roster is 2/3 empty. Whether by injuries or personnel malfeasance, it's back to Josh being forced to play Superman and do it all. This format never has been and never will be sustainable. 1 Quote

I can get behind this...but the big problem is, the man that will likely be working on fixing the roster is the same guy that destroyed it. I can't see Pegula moving on from Beane unless we have a few losing seasons in a row. 1 Quote

I dont think they lose to TB and Philly, maybe one but not both at home. Maybe road losses Houston, Pitt, NE. That would give them 7 losses with a easy schedule and they might not get into playoffs with only 9 wins. That would mean they would go 3-7 after starting 4-0, might get McD fired, we'll see. And Josh probably has close to 4000 yards 30+ TD passes and over 40 total TDs again and Cook going 1500+ rush yards, would be unacceptable to miss the playoffs with that and an easy schedule. Augie Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago My greatest fear is that we will be relegated to the CFL. They have a lot of crazy rules to get used to. 1 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 1 hour ago, Chaos said: Do you honestly think McDermott does not provide the main insight into the team needs Agreed, and why I'd be willing to keep Beane (or even prefer it) if we could move on from McD. The HC is always very influential in who gets drafted. Maybe not down to specific guys, but McD and the staff are OBVIOUSLY guiding Beane on things like smaller LBs that can cover, and whatever else fits his schemes. Heck, Whaley's best ability was to constantly shift the type of guys he was drafting to fit the ever changing needs of our coaching carousel. If moving on from McD means cutting Beane too, then at this point, fine. But I'd like to see what he'd do with a different influence. Someone Offensive minded, riding him harder for actual WRs and playmakers. 1 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think it will be a struggle for the Bills to try and repeat as division champion. I don't their championship window is closed. They need to find wide receivers and they need to solve the injury bug. If I'm counting correctly, The Bills started five defensive players who were starters in game one this season, and three of those have lost time this season and might be less than 100%. Quote
Juice_32 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago As long as we have 17 it's not over. If he "Andrew Lucks" us, yes, then it's over. Quote
