When Bills fans woke up that morning little did they know it was the last morning they would wake up to a .500 record against the Miami Dolphins.  By the end of the day they would be 4-5-1, and many of us lived through how the rest of the 70s went. 
 

By 1980 we were 4-23-1 and Phins fans rightfully claimed daddy ownership over of us.

 

No more.  Sure, we’ve owned them for awhile, but we are talking all time now, boys and girls. 

 

We sit at 61-62-1 against them, including playoffs (we own them there, too).

 

It ends. (Edit) 20,047 days. Their claim of the history, regardless of the recency, ends on Sunday.

I was just reviewing the Bills-Fins head to head record this morning.  Beyond the 4-23-1 record we went through the entire 70's with zero wins, 0-20.  Thanks to Jim Kelly and Josh Allen we are close to tipping that scale, something we could never imagine happening way back when.  Go Bills

I lived through the streak….losing by 1 in the perfect season…Tom Dempsey shanking a chip shot field goal..

I was there when we broke the streak, still have my ticket stub…$9.50.

After that, we would win a few, lose a few…never thought to evening the records.

But HERE WE ARE!!!!

I've posted this before. I was in that endzone with my buddy hugging Jills who made the trip down after that TD!

I was 22, single...

It's the only time I've ever been on the field.  I wouldn't have done it myself, but the friend I went to the game with was a camera guy who wanted to take photos of the people tearing down the goalposts, so I didn't have a choice if I wanted a ride home. 

I doubt there has ever been any other NFL team whose fans tore the goalposts down on opening day.

We were all dancing around just like they all

I actually have an audio cassette of that game floating around in a box somewhere in my house.

I’m hauntingly familiar with our record vs Dolphins. Very exciting I’ve been able to stick around long enough to see this day!
