The Lions seem just OK this year and the Commanders and Raiders are bad. Last night's game with the Seahawks and Commanders was boring. Our D did manage to make Mahomes look pretty bad though. I was going off of what the so called experts were saying. Hell, Cowherd had the Chiefs as #1 on his Herd Hierarchy. I also thought KC looked very good the last few weeks and going 5 - 1 after losing to the Chargers & Eagles, two very good teams when healthy, convinced me that KC was playing great. Quote
SoCal Deek Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Bishop had a good game for sure but I believe there’s more than that happening on the back end. I have to think it has a lot to do with Rapp sitting down, and Mad Max replacing Tre…and maybe, just maybe even Poyer’s presence as well. Somehow, quietly, without making any major trade moves I have a feeling our secondary just got a lot better. 1 Quote
HappyDays Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Bishop might have intercepted that pass if Hairston didn't: 1 1 1 Quote

HappyDays Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago More examples of Bishop dominating: We knew about the athleticism, but it's the instincts on a lot of these plays that has me excited. Looks like the lightbulb turned on right when we needed it. 5 Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago He may have singlehandedly been the difference in this game I wonder how much Poyer has helped him? 1 Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Imagine how good he’d be by now if this coach just put the best players on the team. We are like a little league team. Everyone gets in. Just platooning starting CBs and Safeties. Literally no other team would even conjure up this lunacy. The backups are backups for a reason. This isn’t pre season. Play the good guys the whole time. Like every single other team 1 Quote

As much as I joked on Poyer coming back, I do believe his presence back there has helped Bishop immensely. If nothing else than on pre-snap reads and knowing where to go. Poyer's play may be suspect in itself, but the amount Bishop has improved is worth 2 players. 1 1 Quote

Back end looks completely different. Let’s hope Hairston continues to progress and Tre becomes a role, “drop in” player. 1 Quote
billsfan89 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago This was hopefully Cole's "I've arrived" game because he had not only big play after big play in big spots but Cole also seemed to make most of the plays he should have made. Po being next to him seems to have helped his development as has simply just playing. Bills fans were bitching about Cole in the opening weeks but also complain how KC always has their rookies gaining experience in the regular season so they can be good for the playoffs. But the Bills have a 2nd round pick second year player whose a little up and down and the Bills have to bench him or trade for a safety... This isn't all fans, probably a more vocal minority but an annoying one. 1 Quote

NickelCity Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago His mental game has been his issue since he was drafted. The quick confident decision-making last night is a big step forward. I wonder how much is chance, vs McDermott, vs Poyer. I think McDermott is making a serious difference on defense. Ohhh to have Oliver and Hoecht... 1 Quote
SoMAn Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Not sure if somebody already mentioned, but I think having the experienced veteran Poyer playing alongside him is now paying dividends. Quote

Somehow, quietly, without making any major trade moves I have a feeling our secondary just got a lot better. I had that same thought this morning. I've never played safety, but would think, that if you have more confidence in your CB's, it might allow you to play with a little more confidence and aggression. You don't have to worry about covering multiple guys at once, or at least, not as long. McDermott taking over the playcalling, and Poyer being in that mentor role, has to def help as well. Those would be my 3. Max, McD, and Poyer. 1 Quote
Maine-iac Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Many mentioning Poyer as a mentor and I'll buy into that. I also have to wonder if McD has taken a much larger role in calling the defense if that isn't also making a huge difference in our Safety play. As Poyer and Hyde aged out and our safety play got worse and worse I assumed that Hamlin was limited and Bishop was green. McD had always been known as a safety whisperer of sorts and now he's taken a larger role in our defense I feel like I can see that. While it bodes well that our secondary can in fact cover someone it also shows the huge drop off in coaching if McD isn't as involved. 1 Quote
