You were discussing Mahomes’ sack rate doubling Josh’s last season. The majority of the world would agree that the main factor in that would be KCs offensive line. It’s a fact that Mahomes’ offensive line was horrid last year….no? Or was it just Mahomes failing to adjust and process fast enough? It’s a fact that Josh’s line is in the upper tier of OL’s, no? Or are they terrible and Josh was just Superman and made them look great every game? those are just facts. Not made up delusions. Sometimes, when Josh gets sacked, (this year especially) it’s because he doesn’t adjust protections, decipher the blitz and hit his hot route quick enough. That happens to every QB. It happens at a much higher rate for QBs that play behind offensive lines with 2 terrible offensive tackles. Just so happened to be the major reason why Mahomes’ sack rate was twice Josh’s last season. Or do you think Josh is twice as good at reading defenses and adjusting protections? If he was last year, he certainly isn’t this year im genuinely curious in this take after witnessing the lowest negative play rate in history last season Did Allen not 'adjust protections' last season? If he did, why couldn't Mahomes? Maybe Allen forgot how to do it this year and Mahomes suddenly remembered? and yes, Allen 100% makes the pass pro look better than it actually is 1 Quote

He didn’t do a good job on the season ending play last season. But I’m sure you’ll put that on someone else and no blame on Josh. it’s a year to year league and Josh isn’t doing as well as he did last year in that department. He needs to improve on how he’s been dealing with the blitz this year. Again, facts. Everyone would agree except those that can’t accept putting any blame on 17. 4 minutes ago, GoBills808 said: and yes, Allen 100% makes the pass pro look better than it actually is Oh man. See how you do this? i said this “It’s a fact that Josh’s line is in the upper tier of OL’s, no? Most mobile QBs do that for their OL But our OL IS good. kCs OL has not been great. Or maybe Josh actually is twice as good at reading defenses, adjusting protections and avoiding sacks as Mahomes. And that’s the only reason that Mahomes had double the sack rate as Allen have a great night man. 1 Quote
4th&long Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Not a "perception" problem, the have a reception problem as in no one can get open and catch the ball. Quote

Would you characterize it as upper tier? or better yet, just answer this: imagine a QB completing 68% of his passes for 12 TDs/4 INTs, 6th in ypa, league average in sacks...w the receivers we currently have. How much better do you need that QB to play? MVP level? Probably is what you're saying, right...so anything other than MVP level play from Allen means he's to blame? I mean ffs you just did it yourself when Mahomes has a couple down yrs- 'oh he had a bad oline' YES he had a bad oline and some questionable pass catchers (not as bad as us, but still)...I'm not going to blame him for 'reading defenses' or 'adjusting protections' poorly because there are contributing factors. He didn't just forget how to play, and neither did Allen. there are REASONS why these things happen 1 Quote

Patty has had the better D by far over the span. thats the difference. one team has Chris Jones, the other has nothing thats a true game wrecker on the D. McD knows this, he's not stupid. why he's always wanted a solid run game. we hear it all the time, he wants to protect his D, cuz he knows its not reliable enough. Nihilarian Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Buffalo doesn't have a perception problem or a receiver problem! What they do have is an offensive coordinator problem, and like Greg Roman, he knows how to set up a brilliant run scheme. I believe Aaron Kromer, the O-line coach, is helping with this. However, his passing offense is not very effective. Even Roman has his QB with more TDs and fewer INTs this season so far, Justin Herbert. Now, if either of Buffalo's assistant coaches were worth a damn, what happened with Atlanta as their fierce pass rush got to Josh and made him look ordinary? The world knew that Atlanta was a blitz-heavy team, and yet the Buffalo offense seemed so unprepared to face them. It's like they didn't even game plan for the Falcons. What happened to the quick outs to the "best 3rd down back in the NFL" in Ty Johnson, who currently has 7 targets, 2 receptions for the entire season! What happened to the "max" protect offensive scheme, which basically consists of keeping extra blockers in to pick up the blitzes? RB James Cook didn't even get a pass target in that game and was only on the field for 53% of the offensive snaps. Why no max protect and why no quick out passes to anyone? While having a top running attack in the NFL is great, an NFL team simply can't be one-dimensional and win a championship. Yes, last season the Eagles got to the big dance by running Barkley for 2005 yards with 621 attempts rushing vs 448 passing attempts, which got them a 14-3 record. However, in the SB, it was their defense with a fierce pass rush and their passing game that won that SB for them. McD needs to see that his OC is flawed in the passing game and either replace him, like he did in 2023, or find a passing game coordinator to open up the Buffalo pass game. As much as I love the current Buffalo run game and O-line, the Buffalo passing offense should be much better than it is with an alien inicorn at QB. Quote
Cubanmist 1 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) It’s articles like this that enrages me! That is just one man’s point of view against everyone else who believes that we do indeed have a problem at WR. I’m so tired of the bargain picks and dumpster diving at that position. Beane needs to cut it out already or face the music by WGR, Bills Mafia, news outlets, and journalists alike at the end of the season. Separately, Josh has got to get his ***** together. He needs to spend a little more time working on his progression, his aim, and freaking mechanics. He isn’t a rookie anymore! One other thing that I dislike about him is that he isn’t vocal. I want to see him fire up his offense and occasionally light a fire on his WRs / coach / OC. That’s what makes elite QBs elite. Be vocal and tell your coaches when you don’t like a call that was just called, or when someone is not on the same page as you. That’s discipline! Edited 6 hours ago by Cubanmist 1 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Sorry but the WRs are terrible and Brady is not good at his job. Allen saves him and a few out patterns to Shakir that he broke a ton of tackles for scores skews the data. We can watch the games for ourselves. Shakir and Kincaid should be getting double digit targets per game. No different than Gronk and Edelman. Just copy the Patriots. 1 Quote
