Would not be shocked if its Cam Lewis starting. But my money is its Poyer. I really hope they sign or trade for someone soon. We were already in need even with a healthy Rapp and Hamlin.

IMO an absurd answer.   Why say that?    How about  "you'll see Sunday"   anything else would be better

I am ALL IN to see that combo.  Toss Hairston out there and bench Tre too.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

This is McD is saying we know but don't want to tell Panthers so they can game plan to attack that player and drop a 30 before we make  halftime adjustments.

I want to see them experiment with Taron at safety and Hancock at nickel. But I expect the reverse to be tried.

They should trust you.....after all, you live in Nickel City!👍

McD is one of the worst media coaches, I don't know if it's nerves or what, but he constantly says weird stuff that just invites speculation.

The amount of people who take McD's pressers literal and not vague coach talk is hilarious. Dude has every reason to play coy with the starter at SS. Make the Panthers study Poyer, Hancock, and Lewis.

I think this will all but seal Tre starting for a little while longer as I doubt they want to go out unsettled at S and with a rookie CB starting too.

I am never one for just saying lets move some DB to S, its not some seamless transition that a lot of people think.  But assuming the Bills don't make any moves to bring in another safety, one thing I would experiment with in practice is trying Cole out at SS and Tre out at FS.  Im not delusional, CB and S are not the same position, and just moving someone from one to the other isn't as easy as many make it sound.

BUT - Cole might be better at SS, I have actually long thought that, and Tre has been an elite player in his career, is highly intelligent, and still has good instincts but lacks the pop to succeed still at CB.  Looking back at guys who have made that transition successfully and played at a high level at the new FS position, its usually been high IQ players who were great CB's before their speed started to slip.  Tre fits the mold of a guy who could potentially pull it off.

So - I would at least experiment with it in practice as Max starts to show he is ready to start and see how it looks.

Shadow benching.

It's 2025 and Jordan Poyer and Cole Bishop are the starting safeties. Just a complete failure of team building at this position.

They had 5 guys at the position to start the season.  Three of them got hurt.  They brought a veteran in the system back with Poyer.  What the hell do you want?  You can’t have endless guys at every position.

Yes, lets tip our hat and inform the enemy exactly who we will be playing.

Genius idea!  I bet you're atrocious at poker.  😉

Them not knowing our safety is sure to win us this one.

This weeks Bills secondary is probably the worst secondary fielded by the Bills in the last 25 years. McDermott is going to have to do magic to hide this roster deficit.

I have 3 Poyer Jerseys.  Poy was always one of my favorite Bills.  I have 3 Milano.  It’s been a pleasure watching those two smashing opposing players routinely.  Bills Squad Jerry O said “who brings the juice on D now?”  Poyer and Milano brought the juice!  Both make game changing plays with intensity.  It’s electric- those big plays get the whole team pumped up.  It’s a power surge - you can feel it.  Ed brings the juice.  And IMO Hoecht is bringing a 55 gallon of Juice to Carolina.

LFG!

GO BILLS!

hope you're right or this place will hemorrhage.

Nobody said he had to tell anyone who's going to be starting, even though we're all almost positive it'll be Poyer.

He doesn't have to sound like a buffoon and say "uh we don't know who we're starting yet".  Saying, "we know who will step in" has the exact same effect.

Even saying "we know who will step in" is tipping your hat.

Clearly you dislike the coach, but you make very little sense with your rationale.  It's like McDermott Derangement Syndrome.

I see part of the problem as wasting spots on the practice squad for sentimental reasons. I think the Bills believed the hype about them steamrolling through the season, so they signed Tre White, Gabe Davis, and Jordan Poyer to find a way to get them a ring, finally.  How nice.  But those spots should have been used for younger players who can help the Bills win, now.  Putting White and Poyer onto the field as starting DBs is a disaster.  Yes it's good the Bills have them available but they could instead have had young players who can still run, in position to fill those starting spots.

I don’t think we’re signed only so they could get them a ring

No one said that, in and of itself, will win us the game.

The point is WHY would you give the other team ANY sort of help?  Get every advantage you can.

This is common sense.
