Can’t disagree with that. It is something to have a top 3 defense for three out of his final four seasons here though. 
 

In 2024, 10 of our top 17 contracts were defensive players and 2 of our top 3 draft picks to that side of the ball. 
 

This year, 10 out of our top 18 are defenders with 7 of our 9 total draft picks going to the defense. 
 

His final 2 years:

 

2021, 10 out of the top 17 contracts were defenders. 2 of our first 3 picks defense. 
 

2022, 11 out of the top 18 contacts and 4 of 8 draft picks. 
 

 

That has more to do with Beane and Sean than it ever did Leslie imo. The defense as a whole is getting the same attention and doing less. 
 

Would be interested to see about the FA’s acquired during those 2 year windows with and without him.

McDermott did not fire dorsey. The team did. The captains and the offensive players pretty much told McDermott fire him or lose us. He did notdid immediately fired him after that meeting and you can see that in that Broncos game that we just looked uninterested. 

 

And to those who dispute me, those who say that I am not telling the truth in making this up or it's some rumor. Fine go ahead and believe it but I can promise you this is legitimate straight from the locker room. 

 

The players have openly rebelled to McDermott several times questioning his leadership.

It is going to be a struggle to beat Carolina. I can't believe they have won 4 in a row and have playoff hopes. You know they are going to be jacked up, just like the Pats and Falcons were. I wish we still had Mack Hollins to provide some energy . He looks like he is having fun on the Pats.

Sneaky is not who the Bills are. That would require risk. McD can’t spell risk. It’s not in his nature.

No one fears Buffalos offense.  No one respects Buffalos defense.  
 

We are running the same ***** on offense we ran last year- minus the RB receptions, plus turnovers, plus sacks, etc.  You have evolve in the NFL.  KC is constantly evolving.  We are stagnant.

 

Roster is not good enough.  That’s on Beane.  He better improve roster quick.

 

Players are undisciplined, too many penalties, pitiful tackling, lousy coverage, can’t stop run, lazy routes, not winning your 1/11th.  Bad body language

I’m really concerned about defense as well but if we have any reason to be worried facing Dalton then throw in the towel now. Unfortunately can’t face Fields every week. If red rifle worries you, please don’t look at the opposing QB following week.

Bills D has sucked against the run for years, and is particularly weak this year.  Larry O and Hoecht are most welcome additions!

I also think that Shaq Thompson is a welcome addition at LB against Dowdle and Hubbard.  A bit more beef in the front 7.  This will likely be a trial by fire for Deone Walker against a stacked Panthers running game.

In McDs version of reality it’s too risky to put a rookie out there, yes. His brand of play it safe and pray the other team makes mistakes would never allow it.

IN 2020 the BILLS WERE 4-2.  Fans were looking forward to playing the Jets.

 

IN 2025 the BILLS ARE 4-2.  Fans SHOULD BE looking forward to playing the Panthers.

 

I'm going to watch the game and hope for a win to go 5-2.

Babich was also picked over Eric Washington who besides being the D-line Coach, was also the Assistant Head Coach and was a DC in Carolina.

Kinda surprised at the amount of people concerned about the defense. They definitely have their woes, but man, I need to see something offensively. Our offense was down right terrible against Atlanta. Bills had 2 good drives all game, which resulted in 14 points. The defense kept us alive in that game
