Picking in the top 10 would be mint but i don't expect that. Way too many holes on this team and Hoecht/Obunjobi/Max ain't the answer. Benford is looking washed. tre is washed. Milano??? Bernard is too small. Bishop is just bad. It's a mess right under our nose. Quote

Well after contributing over $800 million dollars for the Pegula Playpen, WE dont have to take a breath as we OWN part of that team, regardless of whats on file in the County and State Office. The rest of us have higher standards and want capitalistic equality for our investment, just like the PSA's. What was donated to the Pegula Foundation is an ALL time record of public tax dollars to a private Billionaire. WE WANT RESULTS 2 1 Quote

McDermott's playoff road record may be 0-whatever, but that leaves out the fact that other than 2019 (when we weren't this iteration of the Bills and Josh Allen wasn't yet Elite), every road playoff loss came against the Chiefs. That proves somehow we're doomed on the road against other teams in the playoffs??? Totally disagree. I also think this crowning of NE is really premature. Guys, before the season started looking at our schedule to start the season I think we all would have been happy with 5-1 at the bye. We're one game off that pace with a mass of circumstances I think we underestimated. Let's just take a step back for a moment and look at what really happened against Atlanta. Our #1 receiving weapon who's become Josh’s most reliable target and finally seemed ready to break into that "Elite TE" category was out. Josh Palmer got injured on the 2nd series and I really think that killed our offensive passing game. It was clear to me the Bills were about to integrate him more into the offense. Even the commentators brought up the conversations they had with Bills coaches last week about Palmer's deceptive speed. Daquan Jones suffered a calf injury during warmups leaving us with 3 active DTs, one of them being Ed Oliver coming off injury. (Side note: Deonne Walker is going to be awesome!) 3 DT rotation against Bijan and Algier??? Yikes! Bernard gets hurt mid game and exits. McGovern gets hurt and comes back clearly still hobbled. Plus we have 2 important defensive reinforcements coming in right after the bye and hopefully Hairston can play soon after. Say whatever about our remaining schedule but none of these teams are that scary. The Bengals will probably still be starting Flacco and their D sucks. The Eagles (as stated) look like the NFC version of us. Kansas City is, in reality, an inconsistent up and down team we're going to play at home and is the one team on our schedule this team doesn't look past. Yes they got players back, but they lost last week against the Jags with Worthy and it baffles my mind the way Rashee Rice is talked about as an Elite WR who will inevitably unlock their offense. The guy has played 20 NFL games and surpassed 100 yards a whopping 4 times. I'm not saying he won't be good and won't help, but the whole "uh oh!!! It's the high power Chiefs of 5 years ago!" is pretty ridiculous. The Bucs and Steelers look good, but how much do we really think that lasts? We aren't going undefeated after the bye, but who cares? January into (hopefully) February is all that matters. Just get there. Take the bye, get healthy... take a breath. So, you have high hopes for Beane's big offseason signings on the defense to come in and make a difference, but think Rice's status as a potential weapon for KC is overrated? Interesting assessments. Rice may not be a huge difference maker this year, as it may take him a while to come back from his injury and get back to his normal self, but he was definitely a weapon when healthy. If healthy, he would be the undisputed #1 WR on Buffalo in my eyes. I think the Bucs will likely be near the top of the NFC by year's end. Steelers, I don't consider a real contender. The defense will likely get better as the year goes on. How much, who really knows. They have nowhere to go but up, but Hoecht is not going to be some big difference maker. The offense is the bigger concern to my eyes. The only chance for the Bills this year, and likely the following several years, is to have the offense humming and hope for at least a passable defense that comes up with timely turnovers/stops. D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I can't help but feel like all the people saying yes we'll make the playoffs are being overly optimistic. It wouldn't take much more from looking at schedule and the direction we're headed to end up 8-9, 9-8. UNLESS, UNLESS. MCDermott and Beane do what they need to do. Replace Babich, Get a playmaker or 2 and hope we get healthier and that the reinforcements/ young players get better and improve. Otherwise this could get ugly following our present course. Quote

Success Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I'm mainly dismayed by the fact that at no point this season have we looked like a Super Bowl contender. We were thrilled after the Ravens comeback - but we were dominated most of that game. It's great to have resiliency like that, but we once again gave up close to 250 yards to Henry. We needed a late break/turnover to win that one - and it was the same w/ Miami. The Saints game was tough, and we lost to the Pats & Falcons. We only looked decent against the Jets. Going pure eye test - this actually looks like the worst team of the JA era. We're all putting quite a bit of hope in the idea that the suspension guys & Hairston will have a very significant impact on our defense, and our WR corps can be completely healthy in the playoffs (and even then, they're bottom 10 in the league). 1 Quote
Chicken Boo Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago The Falcons were a bad style matchup. I knew that going in. The loss, for me, was expected. The playoffs are the only thing that really matters, but even then these same problems will persist. Any physical run team will have their way with this defense and there aren't enough difference makers on offense. Quote
Low Positive Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I am usually with you on this, but not after that game. Telling us to breathe after that first half is simply not an argument that will fly right now. This loss feels worse than any in the McDermott era. We looked like an old team going through the motions while the Falcons looked like a young and hungry team that is on the rise. There has been a changing of the guard in the NFL, with teams that have been consistently drafting near the top on the rise and teams like the Bills looking old. The only silver lining is that the Jets still suck, but that is small consolation to Bills fans. The Bills had the chance at a roster reset after the Diggs trade, but Beane blew it by drafting traitsy guys instead of taking players with high college production that could hit the ground running. This organization seems more concerned about salary cap flexibility in three years than winning now while we still have Josh Allen in his prime. This team is one Cam Newton hit from irrelevancy again, and that thought makes me ANGRY at Beane for wasting this opportunity. Beane and McDermott will get to move on with their lives with fat bank accounts when that happens, while we languish in NFL purgatory in a new stadium that no one in WNY can afford. And even if they make a break after this season, I don't trust Pegula to not hire a dumbass retread like Mike McCarthy. So yeah. I'm depressed about the future and the present right now in ways that I wasn't after the Texans loss last year and even the Eagles loss in 2023. In fact, I can see 10 losses for this team unless they make drastic changes right now, and those changes are probably not possible mid-season. 1 4 Quote

Big Blitz Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I will say despite how terrible the holes are - WR, DBs, LBs - if Josh played just marginally better the last 2 weeks, we’re 6-0. That is how good he is. And what we can hang our hat on. But the question is has he been off because he’s hurt, the play calling, or the WRs? Or all of it. If those are the reasons then we need to trade for TWO WRs. Quote
