I've got the perfect trade.  Z'darius smith retired so the eagles are short an end.

Joey Bosa for AJ Brown.

I can see the Superbowl match up now.  Bosa injures Josh, and Brown fumbles the final possession...

Almost like he isn't worth 12 million dollars.

Geez, who could have known.

Short of trading for a top 15 type WR, which I simply do not think is in the cards, what exactly are people looking for here? Because for example, Jakobi Meyers is obviously a much better player than someone like Tyquan Thornton, but if you're just looking for someone that can line up out wide and put deep pressure on the secondary, Thornton is a much better option. Guys like Thornton can be scooped cheap pretty easily. We've even already gone that route with guys like MVS but Josh struggled to connect with them.

If you're looking for more than just a deep threat, things get trickier. You'll probably want to look at teams that have a lot of receiver depth. Like maybe one of the Colts WRs could be had if they want to open up more playing time for Mitchell (or Mitchell himself could potentially be available for the right price). Maybe you look at Tampa like Godwin or something (though their depth is REALLY being tested right now with their injuries). Probably a few other teams that likewise have receiving talent to spare.

To be clear, this wasn’t a great, perfect throw.

Watch Diggs. He has 1.5-2 steps on  the DB and slows to catch the ball.

Good throw, should have been caught. Not a great throw.

I am extremely bummed about Coleman. Thought he had turned a corner in that 1st game.

When I think about that draft. We could have traded up for Thomas, or taken McConkey.  Very hindsighty, but it seems like our guy has had the least impact out of all of the receivers taken early.

Checkout Ja'Lynn Polk's stats taken 37th overall. FYI Coleman has more yards receiving in his career than the guy taken 28th (Worthy), 31st (Pearsall) and 32nd (Legette). But I know people don't want to talk about that.

I do think Pearsall is clearly a better player that's just struggling with health. Worthy is more on par. But yeah, a bunch of the other options have been nothing to this point.

I imagine we were locked in on getting an X receiver and I think Coleman has clearly been the best of that bunch to this point. Not saying much though.

And this is ignoring the flawed logic about who can play out wide in 2025 IMO.

Outside WR is definitely on my short list of draft needs this offseason but so is interior OL with McGovern contract ending after this season and Cyrus' after next season. You're right outside of Legette the other WRs we mentioned aren't X like and that's what some posters fail to see that all WRs are not the same just like all DTs are the same.

Nico Collins is a Pipe Dream. Might as well start talking about Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson if you're talking about Nico Collins.

He's a 26 year old stud #1 WR that they signed to a 3 yr, 73m extension just last year. They lost Diggs and Dell. He's far and away the most important part of their Offense and they don't have much else. He isn't going anywhere.

Just bc the Texans aren't winning right now doesn't mean they're going to tear things down like teams like the Saints.

And all of that was essentially what I said which you quoted lol

You want a field stretcher and deep threat kinda guy?  Completely out of left field but how about poaching Robbie Chosen off the Commanders practice squad.  If he still has a decent set of wheels he'd be cheap and he's got proven NFL experience.    Where's his head at or can he still do it?  No idea but he's probably as good a risk and MVS was and cheap.

Looking for a WR that can at the very least be respected on the outside in terms of winning 1 v 1 matchups. Palmer and Keon aren't those types of WR's at least they haven't show it. I know a lot of people looked at Coopers numbers last year and thought that was a bad trade but there was a reason why the offense hummed much better when he was on the field. I don't know the exact fit, Saheed or Olave from NOLA both to me would fit the bill (no pun intended) as far as adding more pop and respectability to the WR core. Olave is the better player but the much bigger injury risk.

I don't think this team needs an AJ Brown top 15 WR. But can this team find someone whose going to be at least semi-respected on the outside. I think Olave would fit the bill as a top 25-30 WR and Saheed would come close to brining that speed skillset that is needed.

MVS himself is a free agent if I remember right too isn't he? Or did he catch on somewhere after Seattle cut him?

Also wouldn't be surprised if the "solution" is simply for Gabe to get healthy and come back as our vertical spacing guy.

If we lose to the Panthers the only trade I want to see is with SF. Josh Allen for a 1st. Let him go with a competent organization.

But back to your premise if we get Olave I want another WR, too.

Ridley and Olave - sending Samuel or Davis or someone else young would be fine - is what i would take.

Crack kills

He's on the 49ers. They signed him to the 53 a couple of weeks ago so he's not easy pickings anymore.

But catches aren't the only important metric. Targets count, too, as well s drops, fumbles, and separation. The others you mention might all be superior to Coleman in all four categories. We've seen Coleman fumble, get boxed out by smaller cornerbacks, mysteriously not jump for balls, have balls hit his head, and, most of all, not give Allen anything to throw to except back shoulder. I can't remember any fades, which were supposed to be one of two throws he is good at, although that might not be his fault.

I don't mean to condemn him; I like his body control, size, and RAC ability. But I don't think he's shown himself to be a featured receiver, much like Gabe Davis. As others have said, his best role might be as a big slot receiver spelling Shakir. A valuable depth player, but no more than that.
