It's not a Cook production issue, it's a Brady is terrible at setting the offense up in advantages positions issue.

Like I stated.

top 5 offense in points.

top 3 offense in yards

Worst receiving group in the NFL.

Seems like it’s pretty advantageous when dealing with literal garbage at skill positions.

Id rather start Stevie Johnson, Donald Jones and David Nelson. We are THAT BAD.

This series is a perfect example as to why Brady is awful.  First and goal from the 9 and Brady has nothing in his back pocket.  It’s all Josh and James magic

lol I wonder why it’s just those two guys.

Maybe it’s because they are the only 2 worth a damn.

Josh has 71 yards passing

Yeah, that's gonna happen when you're rolling out Backups at both bookend lineman against a stout Pass Rush. You don't want to make your Franchise QB spend much time in the pocket. Compounded by the fact that this is, quite possibly, the worst WR core at getting open that I've ever seen.

We at least now have a recipe again for how to move the ball and score points. Cook, Davis, Josh, and Ty Johnson are all threats. We use multiple back sets along with multiple TE sets, and get RBs more involved in passing game. Healthy Kincaid gives us the downfield threat which opens things back up for Shakir underneath. That's the offense that can still win in the playoffs.

I don’t care if it costs 3 first round picks to acquire Justin Jefferson we should do it.

Beane has wasted so many picks anyways why not at least get a superstar WR for them ?

He didn't adjust protection against Houston, that's not on the receivers. They don't call run, screen, long third down short routes every drive. Just like last year, this team doesn't pass the eye test and won't be able to move the ball against playoff defenses.

Maybe the misuse is in investing in injury ridden and not very talented players in the defense year after year and then complaining about how the offense is only top 5/top 3.

@FireChans, I don't disagree.  Beane has failed to give Josh & Brady a good receiving corps.

Yet, I do think it's odd that receivers continue to have production drops playing for Brady despite Josh being under center (Diggs, Samuel, Palmer, etc.).  I'm also tired of hearing commentators (Cossel, Orlovsky, etc.) talk about how basic our passing concepts are.  And I'm tired of Joshing scanning the field and finding no one to throw to because Brady can't scheme guys open.

I'm not saying Brady's a bum.  We've scored a lot of points with him as OC and I acknowledge that.  He seems to have a knack for scheming a run game.  But he also has Josh the Magic Alchemist turning crap pass plays into gold.  Scheming a downfield passing game is not Brady's forte which is a shame because we have a generational QB who's incredible talents are being wasted to an  extent.

it's weird that we're the second best rushing team in the NFL

any other era that would be something to be proud of

Right, everybody passes in today's NFL

I think we are number 1 after today's performance.  Or is Chicago after the embarasment they put on the Eagles on Friday?

Imagine being upset that your team leans on their star players.

Samuel has production drops…. From his previous stint with Brady…. Probably doesn’t prove Brady doesn’t understand him as a player/tool

palmer is basically on pace for his last two seasons

diggs is really the only example and excuse me if I believe we still don’t have the whole story there

You’re totally right.  My bad.  This is totally sustainable.

Whats that thing Belicheck used to do?  Scheme to take away one of your weapons?  I’m sure in the playoffs if James Cook gets planned for, the passing game will definitely pick up the slack
