Ok Jerome lol. If you watched this team this year and think everything will be just fine, that's great for you. But you are blind if you cant see how poor this roster and coaching is.

Two things that NEED to change in my opinion on the bye week

 

1. Tre white benched/cut/not playing 

 

2. Babich no longer calling plays

Yeah The defensive philosophy is totally busted. Not much good has happened under babich.  Maybe turnovers.  But the players try stripping the ball over tackling.  We used to be able to put up with the poor rush defense because the pass defense was elite.  Now it all sucks.  I expected more and hoping they can use this to make some meaningful changes. I am optimistic they will.

Chiefs are playing great D now and just beat the Lions. We cannot beat any team with an even or winning record. The Bills are a hot mess of small, slow, average players who can't stay on the field. Right now I would favor the Pats winning the division.

i watched one of his routes they actually showed.   he ran vertical and then angled into the receiver...had he angled to the center of the field  he would have 

been wide open...     i think a lot of the routes make no sense.  all the little intricasies and nuances of route running and planning are not being introduced 

during week and it shows on the field

Bourne or Jennings aren't enough. I've been an advocate of Rashid Shaheed. But he isn't enough either. It has to be Olave or some other legit #1 if one is available. No more half measures in surrounding our MVP.

Unfortunately those are really the only two things I think the bills can do that will move the needle a bit.

I agree with this, but will add CB2. Even if Maxwell ends up starting some games, Benford seems to always be hurt come playoffs.

I think Babich will be gone like how we moved on from Dorsey in 2023. 

 

For players, I’m not sure there is much to do. We don’t have a lot of cap space and I would be surprised if Beane will give up significant picks for talented players in case this year really bottoms out.

 

Poyer may be our only option at Safety to make a change. Justin Simmons is out there but being able to fit him under the cap may be tough without adding several void years. 

 

Their are free agents like Stephon Gilmore and Kendall Fuller at CB that would probably improve the position if we are able to afford it. This limited cap space is tough.

 

Could try to trade for Devin Bush at LB. He has been very good for the Browns - especially vs the run - and they seem willing to trade decent players for improved draft capital. Cheap contract and probably would cost a day 3 pick. 
 

Olave is the top target that may be out there and he is no Jamar Chase. May take our 2026 first rounder to get
 

Really depends how far they want to kick things down the road for a chance to improve this year. Trade for Olave and Bush, sign Gilmore, Fuller and Simmons and we may have something. But it’ll hamper us the next few years with the trade picks, restructures and/or void years we would need to fit those types of players under the cap. 
 

If I was to guess, Babich is gone and we ride the year out with what we have

I just can't see the bills making the olave move, it would be a game changer though

I'm POed and have lost a lot of confidence in this team. But let's not forget last year. The Bills started 3 - 0. And then, lost 2 in a row, including a brutal loss to the Ravens.  They weren't outclassed by the Pats and Falcons. They "just" made key mistakes, both the players and the coaches. Miscues. Penalties. Bad play calls. They just showed they lack a lot of stuff. But you guys forget the mighty Chiefs (in your eyes the best of the best) are 3-3. The Superbowl champ Eagles just got whooped by the Giants.

it’ll never happen but AJ Brown.  He has a ring. Diggs didn’t.  Olave would be a good add for sure. I don’t expect it though

It feels different because we have a legit division threat now. Miami was paper tigers that never gave you a real reason to worry about them. New England is legit. They have the coach and they have the QB. In years past these slumps just affected our seeding which was bad enough. Now it is genuinely possible and I might even say likely that zero playoff games will be played at Highmark Stadium in its final season

Hey maybe that will be the thing that pisses Pegula off enough to make the necessary change.

 

And that's my answer to this thread - sure go ahead and fire the DC, make a big trade for a WR, whatever. The real change has to happen in January or else Josh Allen will never win a Super Bowl.

Calvin Ridley. The real answer is wholesale changes to the defensive philosophy and coaching staff but we won’t do that. It’ll cost us another season in Josh’s Prime. Keep writing them off, one day it will be to late

The Chiefs are getting better and the Bills are getting worse. Plus the Chiefs will be getting Rice back.  I hate saying this.
