To fire or not to fire?

  1. 1. It's all up to you. Do you fire Sean McDermott?

    • Yes. Gotta stop wasting Josh Allen
    • No. He turned the team around and deserves more time.

The Bills were touted as having an “easy”’schedule and no heavy travel games,

plus preseason SB favorites.  If they fail to get the 1 seed, and even worse, don’t win the division, then Yes McDermott and staff should be fired.

We have a good chance of losing another one, after the bye, @ Carolina Panthers. Their secondary is ranked in the Top 10. We're playing at their house.

And they have a good running game

we are pretty awesome at stopping the run

We can fail to get the 1 seed, finish 2nd in the division and win. Super Bowl.  I think the pats will lose 3 more game max.

it’s week 7.  We may continue to have a rough patch until we figure some things out scheme wise and get some guys back/make a trade/s.  I won’t be discouraged until I see how we play in December.  That version of the team is all that matters.

Dont forget about their run game vs our rushing defense.

Cant re-write history a couple years later hiding behind one stats screen, fam.

We all saw it, we all were here discussing it in real time. It was then, and forever will be, a coaching botch game.

It was a MAJOR tipping point for me as someone who was an ardent McDermott supporter to starting to see the flaws and becoming a McDermott skeptic. The memories of that night are still clear. There were plenty of questionable coaching calls against an inferior opponent.

He's the one who fired Russ, Rex, and Whaley and hired McDermott. His approach to the Bills is a complete 180 from how he handles the Sabres.

So, while I'm not 100% confident he'd make the right hire, I'm willing to risk it.

Terry really just went down the list in “Running an NFL team for dum dums.”

1. Marrone. Young, local, offensive minded, forget the other reasons. Media, fans, and players make it known that they don’t love the guy. Fired.

2. Rex, which signaled a shift to the “players coach” approach. Rex Wrecks everything and the building becomes a flophouse. Fired.

3. Doing a complete 180, in comes McD selling the next option on the list which was “culture.”

Not to be that guy, but you can’t blame Terry for Marrone. He was hired in 2013 and Terry bought the team on October, 2014. In fact, Doug quit on Terry right after he bought the team because the ownership change triggered an option clause in his contract. Remember, he thought that he had the Jets job in the bag but they hired Bowles instead.

In my opinion, the biggest blunder Terry made was hiring McDermott and allowing him to hand pick his GM. It has the organization on its head. Nobody but Terry can fire either one of them because the hierarchy is unclear.

If the lose the division and proceed to go one and done, that should definitely be it. And Beane should be gone too. Firing McDermott and keeping Beane accomplishes nothing.

Oh I dunno, from the outside the Rex hire was god awful. I remember coming to the board expecting everyone to be losing their minds and everyone had somehow flipped and loved the hire! I was a very confused fan that day. I hated Rex and I knew our defense would be gone. At least it was quick unlike McD.

I actually liked Marrone but had forgotten about most of the details.

I hated the Rex hire too, but I talked myself into it. After all, I had no way to change the situation so I had to hope that it would work out. I think a lot of people in here that are reflexively positive are coming from that place.

Same.

….yet cared less.

I bet I got ya there.

While we’re at it, passion for college basketball is a thing of the past for me. Empty times, but I’m looking for new stuff.

We all want that. We’re just a little cranky that  they lost like that and left the entirety of Bills Mafia two weeks to stew in that 💩 while they play 18 everyday for a week.

Do I think Beane and McDermott are the best front office we could have? No.

Do I think they have the ability to win multiple Super Bowls? No.

Do I think they have the ability to win one Super Bowl? Yes, with a little bit of luck and Allen playing at his best.

Do I want Pegula to hire a replacement, seeing all of his previous front office hires across the Bills and Sabres? HELL NO!
