To fire or not to fire?

  1. 1. It's all up to you. Do you fire Sean McDermott?

    • Yes. Gotta stop wasting Josh Allen
    • No. He turned the team around and deserves more time.

Who do people want to take McD’s spot?

Gruden

Belichek

Pederson

Nagy

Kingsbury

Anyone else?

THIS!!!

I would take Gruden Pederson or Kingsbury over McDummy, or better yet TRADE a some 1sts and/or 2nds to the Rams to bring in Sean McVay and a great offensive mind that will take advantage of Josh's talent.  It's not like we get anything out of those picks anyhow from Beane.

I've been saying yes for years, so there's no real question what I think. I've started basically this same poll 3 times, but let's get a snapshot of what we think right now...

It's a simple question: has the final straw broken the Buffalo's back?

Go on record!

Honestly with how open the AFC is this year it’s so sad that these guys can’t get their ***** together.
With all the injuries on defense I really thought the offense was the huge letdown in the second half. Terrible play calling terrible utilization of the little talent that we do have… these guys can’t draft and it shows.

First the caveats:  McD did turn a moribund franchise around and elevated the Bills into a perennial division winner and playoff participant.  For that he deserves our thanks.  BUT, the clock is ticking on our alien QB who has at most 6 - 7 more seasons of elite level play in him.

The best chance for the Bills to win one or maybe even two Super Bowls while Allen is still elite is to throw the dice and gamble on a new coach & GM.  Sure, it could go in the crapper real quickly but the status quo will not see the Bills in the SB for the foreseeable future.

The new coach/GM would have 2 years to restructure the team.

There are so many conflicted fans on here like me. Yes McD has brought us back from irrelevance but I think he has taken us as far as he can go. I cannot think of anything he does that is an advantage for us. His defense is atrocious. His in game decisions are often terrible and betray a lack of being able to think in the moment. His teams have been undisciplined with penalties and routinely make errors that high school players wouldnt. He seems along with Beane to make terrible personnel decisions and put players on the field that should never see a Bills (let alone NFL uniform) again (Peterman is the worst example). The final thing that irks me is that in several games during his tenure, the Bills have looked woefully unprepared for games as if they never study the teams they play against. Tonight and last week are great examples but there have been at least 10 games like this over the past 7 years. Id love to see the Bills win a championship for many reasons and it would be great if McD was the man to get us there. But he just doesnt seem to have it.

Yes, it's overdue and it's the same ***** every year, they're stagnating even more and wasting a great quarterback. When you hear McDermott speak, he really has no clue and he's been saying the same ***** every year and fails to fix the many issues even though he's flooded with new draft talent on the defensive side of the ball annually... and that's his apparent forte! Furthermore, Beane has drafted horrendously for years, constantly overpays with horrible contracts, brings back old players, pays the players he's drafted way too much on extensions, doesn't know when to let go of players or when to keep players etc...

Just so many mistakes for years in every aspect, constant undisciplined football and constant penalties these days every week. Free agency acquisitions have also been pathetic. Plus, alarmingly, Josh seems to be regressing!

Again who are you hiring?  And this dumb azz idea that the Rams will take a draft pick for McVay doesnt apply because its a fairytale.

You don’t have to hire anyone yet. Owner fires coach, signally that he hears the majority of the fan base, finishes season, hires new regime (coach and GM) , which adds excitement heading into new stadium.

Its actually set up perfectly to pull the plug right now, or in the next few weeks.

If they fire the man, now is not the time.  That will drown the team in more chaos than it’s already, apparently, experiencing.  I don’t believe he will ever lead them to a Super Bowl, (although I hope to God it happens).  They’re now in second place in the division.  But there’s no realistic replacement at this time.

The defense is just flat out dog *****! The offense looks like crap now but a sure sign of a poorly coached team is the undisciplined flag fest. Guys lined up Offside and just other stupid penalties.

Yes after this season they should move on from McDermott and Beane barring a Super Bowl. Like 2023 we will turn it around enough that Pegula will give them another year probably.

If we had McVay we would likely have at least two Super Bowl wins.  Don't think he is coming here, better chance Josh goes to him at some point, unfortunately.

Why does anyone think he was ever coming here at all haha I don’t get how this started

It will get loud in national media.

The "they are wasting Allen" narrative was already a thing in recent years.

I would fire him, but Pegula never will. So best we can hope for is finding an independent GM who is better at hitting on draft picks and signings.

If our DEs could get home or our DBs could cover or WR get open then suddenly McDermott would look better.

It really hasn’t been a thing tbh (not saying it necessarily shouldn’t be a thing though)…national media has mocked the idea of firing mcd up to this point and a lot of the nfl social media communities have as well.  Maybe that changes tonight but the fire mcd thing was mostly bills fans only up to now

Fire them both. It would not be difficult to have the amount of success that they’ve had once they got Josh. There are LOTS of guys that could win 11-13 games and a WC game. That’s not the goal or the standard anymore. If that’s your ceiling, which it has been, don’t let the door hit you on the way out. A Super Bowl title is the only thing that matters. Find someone to get it done.

I don’t like how the options are phrased, so I didn’t vote.

I think this staff/front office is actually one of the better ones in the league, but they will never be the best one in the league. Not even for a single season.

A change as big as that proposed can go either direction. It can be for better or it can be for worse.

Being one of the best, but never THE best has grown tiresome… has been for a while now.

It didn’t give a time frame also which made it tough to answer.  Offseason if some hc prospect separates themselves from the pack I’m cool with it…some of these names people are saying ‘I’d rather have this guy’ about are straight up insane though haha

midseason I just don’t know what you gain…if you wanted to give one of your coordinators an audition for head coach it makes sense but do we really want to do that?
