So I honestly cant think that is so... UNLESS they retain McDaniel and Grier after the season.... if that happens... then I am in your camp... if it doesnt, I cant see these guys getting fired and sacrificing their careers or at least damaging them to get the organization a pick they will never see...   I dont think the players would do that per se... because a new GM is gonna come in and start wielding a hatchet...  I just think they are a dysfunctional mess with Tua leading the dysfunction, calling out players and then sh(tting himself when he goes out to play... etc...  losing breeds bad things.... underperforming expectations while losing breeds worse... doing it for so many years culturally, well that breeds the Dolphins as we see them... tanking requires an orchestrated plan... I would not give them credit for making a plan, I dont think at this point they are capable....  NOW... again, happy to be wrong here... if they go 3-14 and are getting the 1st or 2nd pick etc... and they run back McDaniel and Grier and Tua... then you are 100% on point... I just myself dont see that... but you never know...

Now I can see the Jets doing this... for sure, highly unlikely Aaron Glenn goes after 1 year... they dont have a QB they invested 150mm in or whatever, like this would make more sense... but looking at Aaron Glenn on the sidelines... not sure he is ok with losing... but far more likely here I think than in Miami...

I think it's pretty clear that the real problem with the Jests is the ownership.   Until that changes, the Jests are going to rinse-and-repeat ad infinitum, just like the Bills and the Lions did for decades until new ownership changed the mindset at the top.   The last decent NFL QB the Jests drafted was Chad Pennington in 2000.  The last successful HC the Jests had was Rex Ryan who left after 2014.

They're done. It's over. They gave Tua, Waddle, Hill, and Chubb a boatload of $$$. None of it has worked out. Now Tua is being fully exposed as meh (what most of us already knew), Waddle is nonexistent, Hill is coming off of a major injury for a speed WR who is on the wrong side of 30, and Chubb never lived up to the hype. Add in the inhouse bickering, and the obvious that McDaniel has lost the team, and it's fairly easy to see the writing on the wall. Combine all of this with the likely scenario of being 1-9 after the next 3 games, they're done. Both of them are going to get canned.

It's why most good teams draft and extend.  They did this with a couple of players, but they also probably did it with some of the wrong players.  They also spent tons of picks to get Chubb, Hill, and Ramsey and truly none of it worked out.  

 

Wilkins (i guess they dodged a bullet here), Hunt, Holland, Van Ginkel - physical glue type players that they all let walk.  Just a soft team with a bad coach.

100 percent. I was just saying they aren't trying to tank. McDaniel is trying to win as he won't survive a 2-15 kind of season to say the least

This season is a strange one to tank. There's no consensus #1 or #2 QB in the draft. There's probably 7 QBs who could be first rounders, depending on how the rest of season & pre-draft stuff goes. So even though Miami & the Jets are tanking for a QB, the odds aren't very high they'll get a franchise savior.

With the uncertain future of Tyreek Hill and no other NFL caliber WRs for a future QB to throw to AND a $23M+ dead cap hits it would be extremely foolish for them to trade him unless they were absolutely blown away with an offer. A 2nd or even a 1st in the high 20s isn't worth it IMO for them.
