Go ahead and look at the league scores from this week and see how many games you win scoring 14 points on offense.

You're right. But the Falcons would have been on 30 had they not turned down the chance of a FG in the first and, yes, thanks to a rare good ST play, had another blocked in the second.

Then you're in shootout territory.

And my Aunt would be my Uncle if she had balls.

The big question is why is McDermott being ignored. He says publiclly "Don't be cute".

And yet calls in key situations continue to be cute.

The failed 3rd down conversion to Moore on 3rd and half a yard was a total momentum killer and basically ended any hope of a comeback. Just a total idiotic play call, especially against Atl's light front. The lack of Cook in the 4Q when you're still down only one score and averaging over 5 yards per carry is just plain stupid.

You're acting like its impossible or something

No I am acting like you need to score more than 14 points in an NFL game to win.  Especially if your Qb makes 13% of your cap.  Its doable, 1/3rd of the time.  Not very good odds.

Football aside, that was one of the worst broadcasts I've seen. In lieu of replays they just bombarded us with commercials. WTF ESPN? W.T.F.

The blocked fg 3 points I can see gifting them but the 4th down stop being turned into 3 points for them is a little wild haha if they had converted there and scored a td would you say ‘well they shouldn’t have gone for it so they should’ve had 4 less points’? I’d assume not

Just because the offense was a mess tonight doesn't mean the defense isn't a serious issue.

I trust, maybe with a new OC and one key trade (who then doesn't pick up an injury), the offense will sort it out. I think the issue with the defense goes far deeper.

It's still a fact the D let the Falcons play down the field and get into scoring range. Which it seems to do all too often. I said during the game the issue with the D is it's too reliant on turnovers. Without them, it has little of note or benefit.

And to think Carolina shutout the Falcons.

In the stupid crazy world of sport this means the Bills will go to Charlotte and win in just under a couple of weeks.

I am not gonna go crazy over this loss. Hopefully, the bye week allows them to get some guys back and focus on fixing things. Getting the #1 seed and Bye is critical for this team to make it to the Super Bowl.

Beane needs to be on the phone looking for upgrades and going all in with a wide open AFC this year. KC is KC but I don’t think there is 1 really Elite team this year. Find a WR that can separate like Shaheed and another CB/S to help in the secondary.

Hate to say it, but all my biggest fears are seeming to be realized.

You can only fail so many drafts before that lack of talent eventually kills you. And who do we get in free agency? Nobody substantial, as we somehow have no cap from extending so many mid tier players.

This is why I'm all about trading picks for players. After Allen, the best draft picks Beane & McDermott ever used were used to acquire Stefon Diggs.

No other player has had an impact as big as him.

Cook has become our best weapon, but we taking it out of his hands. Instead, we seem to want to rely more on Josh, but he's not been up to it. An INT in 3 straight weeks? 4 turnovers already? This is the "turnover machine" Allen, only now without the explosive plays to go along with it.

There goes that "easy" schedule & looking ahead to the #1 seed. It'll take a massive turnaround to overcome all these issues.

I think the offense is semi fixable where the D, unless Hoecht and Ogunjobi are beasts. I dont see much hope there.   Hairston probably wont be back until a few weeks later and there will be more injuries on D until then.

Yeah the roster is the biggest problem, it's void of a lot of talent and guess what, Beane has been the GM for years constructing it and I'm sure with McDermott constantly prodding him for more defensive players.

It's not a stretch to say that most fans are growing tired of both of them & their inability to get it right. And at the end of the day, here we are staring at a bloated under talented and over the cap roster with no quick way out.

I thought Strong actually looked really good in there, but I've heard nothing on him.

But we basically need 1 of 2 rookies to be really good.  I don't even think Benford has been playing all that well. Johnson looked a little better tonight.

Man, it almost feels like we're rebuilding.

100%.  We have dillusional fans pinning this on coaching.

In what world do a combination of Shavers/Coleman suffice as boundary WRs?

Where does the Rapp/Bishop combo rank?

How about Dion and Edwards are regressing.  Milano can't stay healthy.

Beane isn't a fortune teller.  But this man has mishandled a LOT of situations.  Its put this team in jeopardy of losing a division to a slightly above avg Pats team.

All while wasting another year of Joshs career.  Bandaid has to be ripped off and move on from the scouting dept.

Anyone else envy the Falcons a bit?

They remind me of the team we were right after the "Hail Murray." Young, talented, and probably about to go on a nice run.  The jury is out on Penix, but that's a fun, good team.

Penix is terrible.  I’ll be surprised if they win more than 7 games.

Strong was a willing tackler, but wasn't really tested all that much.  But from what I've read that neck injury may be career threatening.
