The few times i’ve watched Penix i’ve been so unimpressed. But i’m guessing with the Bills hands-off cushiony secondary he will have a nice completion %.  Someone needs to step up with a pick. Thats what happened to him in the Panthers game.

Epenesa and Bosa have both been great rushing the passer this year. If Ed can provide the interior rush we’ve been lacking the sacks could start piling up.

We really missed Oliver this past week.  It would be big if he was back for this next one.

 

On an unrelated note - I forgot how quickly the national media can bail on you when you have a bad game.  I've seen some already calling it a "passing of the torch" to the Pats.

 

Would be cool to see them lose to the Saints & us win this one convincingly on Monday.  If only to see the "analysts" do backflips frantically.

Totally agree!  With two kids in high school, it's great to have the game at 7:15 vs. 8:20 on a school night.  Makes a big difference in my book.

My grandfather was for the Bills in the 70's and 80's and we would get sideline passes when the Bills came to Atl. I had no clue how special a treat that was as a kid.

I mean the media needs something to talk about. Membah when the Jets signed Rodgers and they were the favorites to win the division? How’d that go? Membah when we most all them defensive players and people were taking Miami to win the division? How’d that one play out? This year it’s the Pats and Drake Maye to make it interesting, we’ll see how it turns out.

IMO we should be playing our "A" game every week. None of this playing down to the opponent crap. That just leads to bad things and even losses to opponents that we shouldn't lose to sometimes.

Atlanta Falcons' defense is better than our previous opponent, New England Patriots. Our defense better step up to win. Look for our MVP QB Josh Alien to rebound.

 

Atlanta Falcons' offense is pretty bad. Then again, our defense is abysmal at stopping the run.

 

I can see Atlanta Falcons winning this one.

I'm not sure the Falcons offense is better than the Patriots. They have a few nice skill position players but Penix is an unproven quantity.

I have been over this game left and right so that I can get my feelings out of my analysis, and here's what I got. I know everyone is mad about the defense and that's become the narrative, but they played well enough to win that stupid game. They held the Pats to 23 points (only 2 TDs) and forced 4 punts and a turnover. We had 3 turnovers and 2 punts. Equal number of stops, but one of their stops was a fumble and a gift of 3 points. Those 3 points were the difference in the game. This loss was on the offense and general sloppiness. For example, the Bills were driving on their first drive and were going to score. FUMBLE!. If Josh just takes the sack instead of throwing that pick in the 3rd, we get an almost certain 3 points and win the game. 

 

So for this week, here are the goals:

1. Don't turn the ball over!
2. Line up correctly!
3. Keep contain when the QB scrambles!

 

No question in my mind that the offense lost the Patriots game... coaches and players.

I'm sorry if I got you heated. I wasn't reporting on news. It was an opinion.

 

This culture is really about Josh Allen, James Cook, and our great o-line. Sprinkle in some Shakir and Kincaid.

 

On defense, there is a culture there, "a losing can't tackle, can't sniff out the run, can't make crucial 3rd down stops" culture. Been happening for the last 4 years. "Bounce back" wins gets harder to do as they age. Just ask Mahomes and Chiefs and Lamar Jackson and Ravens.

 

Our defense will be the same vs. Atlanta Falcons. We shouldn't be penciling a win here.
