This will be another “tougher than expected game” for the Bills…Gotta have our “A” game this week.

That team has Bijan Robinson and Drake London among others, and a rising defense…that’s a tough out

Gonna be a tough one with the state of our defense.

I would prefer we play the younger and newer guys and let them get going. Time to let the older guys--Tre, Taron, Jordan Philips, Daquan, etc.--step back and a new core develop.

This could be like the lions game last season, a real shootout and hopefully we come out on top because we have Josh and hopefully Kincaid and Shakir hitting some form.
our defence sucks and will give up points until the injuries clear and we get the PED guys playing, it is what it is

Agreed. So much good would have come from a win that it seems the Bills knew they would win and didn’t try. Crushing loss and now we sweat for the rest of the season. SONOFA…!

My faith has been tested by the Pats game - not by the standard of performance, as I don't think the Bills were that much worse than the rest of season, but by the failure to get over the line. I suppose 17-0 was always going to be a long shot but there have been so many issues from week one which have not been sorted out.

Hopefully the extra day may seem some of these addressed. Every AFC team is flawed and, really, only the one at Highmark (and perhaps the Colts) went against the Bills. Recovering before the bye is really important.

I don't things have changed that much for the Bills and playoffs/seeding, it is just a different set of pursuers.  Instead of the Chiefs Ravens and Chargers-- who seemed best poised to compete for the #1 seed-- it is the Colts Jags and Pats(given their schedule) right now.  But the Bills were going to have to win around 13 games to get the #1 seed, and I don't think that has changed.  I don't see any of the new three challengers winning 14 games, do you?  Put differently, the Bills plainly control their own destiny.  If they only win 10-12 games, the would not have been the #1 seed in any case.  The only real change is that 10-11 might not win the division this year, as it may have until the Pats showed they might be decent.

Another tough game.  Falcons offense is better than Pats, IMO.  And they are coming off a bye week, at home.

Hopefully Bills dont lay an egg 2 weeks in a row in primetime.  Time for team to step up the level of play

If this team is truly a Super Bowl contender, then they should be 6-1 after these next 2 games. I get upsets happen, but Atlanta and Carolina are nothing special.

True story...  however, I worry that this defense makes Penix and Robinson look like the second coming of Jackson and Henry...  dont know much about Atl defense...

The defense has me questioning if McDermott and Beane know what they are doing. The Bills will probably have to win a high scoring game vs the Falcons. Similar to what the Bucs and Seahawks game looked like this past Sunday.

I think your expectations are insanely high if you "suppose" 17-0 is a long shot.

i think it has a lot of people vacillating between... calm down we are 4 -1 and we have the same old same old...  I am slowing moving to same old same old... FA failures, spending insane money on D with literally no return... at the expense of getting Josh weapons...  Draft misses, poor discipline retaining coaches like Babich who is a yes man to MCds D...  lots of stuff to suggest that this FO is more akin to the Chuck Knox syndrome, good enough to get you in the conversation but fatally flawed to win it all.... then I look at the Polian years and remember them wanting him out... and we wandered in the abyss for 25 years...   Plenty of concern to go around...  not looking to hit any kind of panic button, but my hope is that Beane and McD can look introspecitively and bring in folks that are better at what they seem to be blind at....

Atl defense is no.1 in the league in lowest YPG allowed.

IMO YPG is hardly the most reliable metric, but if you're no.1 in the league after 4 games then it's reliable enough to say your defense is playing well.

I have been over this game left and right so that I can get my feelings out of my analysis, and here's what I got. I know everyone is mad about the defense and that's become the narrative, but they played well enough to win that stupid game. They held the Pats to 23 points (only 2 TDs) and forced 4 punts and a turnover. We had 3 turnovers and 2 punts. Equal number of stops, but one of their stops was a fumble and a gift of 3 points. Those 3 points were the difference in the game. This loss was on the offense and general sloppiness. Just don't turn the ball over 3 times and have crushing, drive-killing penalties, and we'll be OK.

For example, the Bills were driving on their first drive and were going to score. FUMBLE!. On the second drive after the Pats fumble, Ty Johnson ran off the right edge for 8 yards, setting up a 2nd and short in Pats territory. All negated by an illegal formation penalty. And it was a penalty because Palmer was a yard behind the LoS.

If Josh just takes the sack instead of throwing that pick in the 3rd, we get an almost certain 3 points and win the game.

So for this week, here are the goals:

  1. Don't turn the ball over!
  2. Line up correctly!
  3. Keep contain when the QB scrambles!

I 100% agree, and I think in my 3 up and 3 down I alluded to it...  I agree this was not their worst game... wasnt great... but not their worst... but at some point is it too  much to ask the defense to get a stop when the game is on the line...  Stats, non stats, all 22 etc... I get it... but Josh didnt wear a cape, the turnovers were horrid, but can the Defense step up when Josh is pedestrian and we turn it over a couple of times on the last drive?  I just dont have confidence in that... and to me to win it all that has to happen on occasion...
