NewEra Posted Sunday at 09:40 PM Posted Sunday at 09:40 PM I’d give a game ball to the Saints DL. They did a helluva job containing Josh for most of the day. 1 1 Quote

And the Saints may not be a good team, but they do have some very talented players (Olave, Kamara, Demario Davis, Cam Jordan, Juwan Johnson, C Erik McCoy, Rasheed Shaheed, the rookie corner Sanker looked pretty good, etc.). They are going to make some plays. Props to the defense for shutting them down in the 4th quarter (and with no Oliver or Milano). The Saints last 3 possessions were field goal, downs, downs. I got: Josh Cook Shakir Bosa Bernard Bishop Shout outs: Not just from today, but man, I really like Dorian Strong's toughness and tackling (4 solo tackles today). Tre seemed to have a bit of an up and down game, but he did have 7 tackles, 1 TFL, and the big stop on 4th down. As to the rookies, along with Strong, Hawes and Walker are looking like players....and even Sanders had a nice tackle today. This rookie class could be very strong if they keep up this progress (and we haven't even seen Hairston yet). Taking the positives from a not-so-pretty win. 4-0 baby! Go Bills! Every team on the schedule is going to be desperate at this point. Bills need to play with more urgency either way. 1 1 Quote

WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted Sunday at 10:49 PM Posted Sunday at 10:49 PM Walker is still hit and miss, but when it's a hit it's one hell of a splash play and we badly need those. 1 1 Quote

There were ups and downs for all of them, but in the end, they made the plays that mattered. Allen, Shakir, Cook, all did their jobs. While the run defense was pitiful, they finally got the pass rush going the last 2 drives. We need to get Ed healthy ASAP. Bosa had an OK game overall, but man.....he showed he can be the difference maker we need in crunch time with the pass rushes he had down the stretch. I will have to watch the tape to see how he played most of the game, but Bishop made a game changing play at the end of the half. And, here's my weekly shout out to Hawes. What a difference maker he is for this offense. Does all the dirty things well and is serviceable enough in the pass game to make a big play every week. Love watching that kid block, though. The down? Easy.... the coaching staff. McDermott and both coordinators had a tough day I think. Yes, we scored 30 again. I get that. But man, some of the play calls on offense in the middle of that game were head-scratching. And the defense was shredded all day except for the last drive and a half. And finally, the offensive line I thought had their worst game of the season so far. Allen was constantly pressured. They opened up a couple nice holes for Cook, but Cook made them look better than they were today. We missed Brown badly. Was really disappointing with the staff as they had a mini bye to get ready for this game. While NO played on the West coast last week, flew back to NO on Monday to then fly to the East coast. Offensively, I’d like to see us go more uptempo at times. Defensively, I don’t even know what our scheme is. Rush four with majority of straight bull rushing, with almost never stunting. Heck move Bosa around from time to time. Creat some freaking mismatches or confusion! Instead our DL continues to get stonewalled while our secondary plays soft coverage constantly giving up easy 5-10 yard passes. Add in piss poor tackling and it’s very concerning. 4 hours ago, Turf Toejam 34 said: Disagree on Tre. Led the team in tackles which isn’t a good sign for the D! 1 1 Quote

Considered him, but as I posted elsewhere, I can't give it to a guy that only showed up in garbage time. He was terrible at setting the edge, getting burned time and again for big runs. If he's not getting pressure, he's essentially useless. Quote
Since1981 Posted Monday at 01:36 AM Posted Monday at 01:36 AM I have not analyzed. did white do a decent job? He seemed to be decent. Considering the CB chaos and this poor guy? 1 Quote

Considering the CB chaos and this poor guy? I thought he was at best average. I don’t think there is a huge difference at this point between Strong and White so in my opinion I’d rather see Strong getting the reps but McDermott is big on trust in the system and White has that but him getting pulled off for a bit was interesting to me. I can’t wait until this defense is healthy(if that’s possible) and not suspended to see just how good we can be on that side of the ball. I’m a big Hoecht fan and want to see how he’ll impact this defense with Bosa and a healthy Oliver/Milano/Hairston 1 Quote
