Lots of games to be played so no one knows yet.

Can't tell me starting 0-2 is meaningless.

 

I can probably bet that IF the Chiefs lose to Bills and Ravens, they won't be #1 seed.

IF that happens, they most likely will be in a dog fight to win their division.

Anyone here think the Giants can pull off the upset this Sunday night and put KC in an 0-3 hole. I would love to see it.

McAdoo got fired as much for his contention that Eli was done and decision to bench him as anything else. Mara was very close to Eli and took badly to it. Turns out McAdoo wasn't a million miles off.

That was a slap in the face for the most successful Giants QB ever. 
 

if McAdoo didn’t clear that with Mara, he was an idiot.

McAdoo (allegedly without ownership clearing) told Manning on the Monday "you are starting but at some point I will go to Geno" and Eli came in the next morning and said "that's not fair to Geno - if you want him to play let him play, I'd rather not start and then come out."

 

When word got back to Mara he was fuming. McAdoo and the GM were fired right after the game.

I know we talk all the time between good orgs and bad orgs when it comes to appearing buttoned up and professional but that’s outrageous.

 

When the time comes when Josh doesn’t have it anymore, I would expect our franchise to handle that transition with much more grace. 
 

How these guys don’t realize they are football people AND the front men for billion dollar corporations is beyond me.

 

I also feel for Mara becoming more meddling after something like that happens.

Not that they are the same. But didn't the Patriots do this once, then go on to like 14-2 and win the SB?

It would be hard to ask for a better start to this season for the #1 seed.  I'm aware how early it is but two game leads against the Chiefs and Ravens (tiebreaker) and Burrow going down for pretty much the whole regular season is as wide open as the window gets in mid-September.

Their next 4 games are Giants, Ravens, Jags and Lions.  They could legitimately be 2-4.

Maybe but I wouldn't bet on it. They will beat the jags and giants.

 

No way I see them dropping both home games to lions and Ravens. They'll win at least one of those IMO

I wouldn't count them out yet. One thing about this past Sunday is the Chiefs defense played well. Holding the Eagles to 20 points and Barkley to 88 yards rushing. Their offense is concern. There will be tremendous pressure on the Chiefs this Sunday night at MetLife. I hope the Giants can pull off the upset. I do think the Chiefs run as division champs all these years will finally end. The Chargers look pretty good so far.

This thread is definitely tempting fate. No way they miss the postseason. And unlike us, I don't think they need HFA throughout. See 2023.

3-1 at worst. No way they lose both of those home games. And the Jags/Giants aren't good at all. 

 

Other tough games: Denver twice, Bills, Washington. Maybe I'm forgetting a team.

They better fix the offense if they want to beat the Ravens and Lions as both of those teams put up a lot of points. The Chiefs defense is very good, but they will need help from the offense in those games.

I do think the Ravens are better than us. Top to bottom. That doesn't mean we can't beat them. We have proven we can. But if we have to play them on the road, I don’t like our chances compared to being at home. They are a different beast at home. 

 

Ravens tough games:

 

Lions, KC, Rams, Steelers, Packers and maybe Minnesota depending on how McCarthy develops.

Yeh it won't be easy. I'm just saying I have a hard time believing they won't figure it out. And for a team like that, just getting to the postseason is all they need. The receivers coming back will help. 

 

Do I think they get to the SB? No. Though, I didn't think the 2018 Patriots nor 2023 Chiefs would either. Both teams with top three QB's and HC's of all time.
