I will admit the idea of leaving early crossed my mind and even asked my son what he thought.   We decided since Josh Allen was playing we might as well stay because we don’t get to see him in person very often.   Thank goodness for that decision!

However, I will say it again…anything but a 1pm game is just awful.  Incredibly unfair to have the game start so late and I don’t judge anyone who left early.   No game should be able to start after 7pm ever in my humble opinion.   To heck with the West coast ~16% of the population anyway.

Go Bills and thank goodness for ALL of Bills Mafia!

Meh, it was all Ravens fans thinking they had the game wrapped up.

I'm guessing the few Bills fans that left were kicking themselves listening to the comeback on the radio as they were stuck in traffic with Ravens fans who were wondering WTH is going on.

I remained on my couch until after the celebration.

I was there. The filtering out with started with about 10 minutes left in the 4th. It was bonkers. Dare I say bordering on disrespectful.

It is 2 possessions and we have Josh Effing Allen.

The only way I can explain it is that

1. The primetime game always seems to always draw a totally different crowd. Almost like people are there because of the nationally televised game, not the match up itself.

2. It is possible we have become soft in our successes. In 2010 we would have more people sticking around to boo this team off the field than we did to stick around to cheer for the comeback. I don't buy the "well it was late" narrative. I am a season ticket holder, and this exodus was something I haven't seen in quite some time and we have had primetime games. These people aren't leaving if the score was reversed (and held), the stadium would have roared the team off the field.

Anyways, for a fan base that gets so much national attention for being "die hards" this was a pretty embarrassing showing on National TV.  If Miami or Jacksonville did this we would have a 96 page thread on what trash fans they are. Be better.

Prior to the game, planned on leaving at half time regardless of the score.  Wife was cold and that cemented our decision to leave.

I pay for my seasons, so I can do whatever I want. I could go party in the lot and leave. I could leave after the first 5 minutes.  All my choice.

I’d like to know how many people on this thread that are complaining actually went to the game? Have seasons, or had season tix?

No one is debating your right to do what you want.

We left, I admit it.  Over the years, we usually leave once we determine the game has been decided (it is most often in the closing minute or so), other than some special occasions.   We bust out to the car and get home.  Kids, other responsibilities (Im also not the one who drives so it isn't entirely my choice).  It has treated us very well and where we park and when we pull the chute, we never experience traffic.

We left as Henry was rumbling toward the end zone.  Game was over.  Saying the Ravens had a 99% chance to win was under-selling it IMO.  The Bills were beat.  With about 11 minutes left, and the Bills seeming to be unable to stop anything, the Ravens would clearly be able to deflate plenty of clock and kill the rest of the game (if they didn't score more points).  The Bills also seemed to have an allergy to throwing anything downfield and to wide receivers up until that point.  Just sitting there watching the 4th quarter bleed away while Ravens fans hooted and hollared, only to sit in traffic until 12:30AM didnt sound fun.

I regret leaving, but this is always the risk we take and in 20+ years of going to most home games, we have never chosen poorly.  It was kind of a cool experience in the car on the way home, watching it on Fubo in the back seat, announcing they got the TD.... then everything changed for the fumble and we pulled over, everyone watched, and it was kind of a cool memory.

Moving forward, we will probably re-think the threshold of leaving in a similar situation.

Nearly half the stadium left. This isn't an 8:20pm game issue. We deserve all the smoke we get.

The judging of fellow fans level of fandom is tiresome IMO … Prime time night games are difficult for many based on factors I shouldn’t have to name, and people leave Sunday afternoon games early as well … wouldn’t be surprised if Josh walks back his post game comments regarding this issue. Calling out any fans is a recipe for problems. Just ask Sammy Watkins.  Josh has certainly stockpiled plenty of goodwill with fans, unlike Watkins, but still … tread gently here

Josh made that comment with a smile on his face.  Don't be so quick to be offended.

Get a sense of humor.

This is one of those cases where a lot of things are true at the same time.

Scale matters here. Of course every game has people who leave early for various reasons. And at a micro level, whatever. But the scale of Sunday night was bonkers.

I think you and anybody else can leave early, especially when that is your weekly cadence, but I also think that because of the scale in which people left we, as a fan base deserve all the criticism coming our way. That stadium was empty. It is tough to explain how empty it was.

Do a go fund me and seriously consider their fandom. Honestly all I heard leading up to the game is how big it was being the final opener, this is the year, were the best fan base blah blah blah. It was a two score game from 11:42 left in the fourth and never more then that. I understand that it was a long shot but you have Allen and that is not insurmountable by NFL standards. Watching at home I was pretty annoyed that our fans left considering how much it costs to go this year which I may not be able to even afford one game and the fact situationally the game was not over especially with 17 as our guy.

For the hype and pride our fanbase shows and believes in compared to the rest of the league it was a very bad look by those who left.

All of this to the max. During the freakin drought people stayed for games with far less importance. I am sorry but we deserve the smoke people give us nationally or by other fanbases because the "Bills Mafia is the best" blah blah looks quite stale with people leaving.

Watching on TV, I didn't notice fans leaving the stadium (unless I was in the bathroom or something). What really pi$$ed me off was our great fans throwing water bottles at Henry! No class...and the snowball throwing must stop too. Bad look.

Not to mention the idiot fan putting his hands on Jackson and Hopkins.

Ironically it's probably not the drunken idiots who were leaving early... they were probably passed out in their seats. 😆

Here's a scorching hot take....

It the grand scheme of things if you left you have ZERO reason to be truly upset, especially if youre lucky enough to go to lots of games.

Yeah it was cool as hell and a great moment. But you didnt miss the Bills win the Super Bowl, or get to one. You didnt miss some historic moment like a player setting a record of some sort. This was not "The Comeback" in the playoffs.

You missed the end of a really nice comeback win in Week ONE of the season. Nothing more, nothing less. And if youre blessed enough to go to lots of games, youve seen a TON of "moments" like what went down and youre on schedule to witness a ton more.

So rest easy....and next time book the babysitter for an extra hour :).

I am the 1% of 1% of Bills fans who participate in the game..........I literally never take a play off from making as much noise as I can when the Bills are on defense or in a kick block situation...........but I disagree wholeheartedly with your take.

The reality is that it's a long season and some people already had to take off work at least part of next Thursday and Friday for the Dolphins night game.

The defense was making business decisions most of the night so you can't expect anything different from the fans who have responsibilities to be mindful of.

It's not news that the group of hardcore fans......those who do whatever it takes to be there and support the team.......would fill less than half of the stadium.   It's unlikely that any NFL fan base has anymore than that.

And if you know enough,  the stadium is plenty loud when it's just the die-hards left.   Most of the people who left don't make any noise anyway.

Just in general,  you should learn to say less about fans.   Complaining about the people who have made it possible for Buffalo to have Bills seems to be a habit with you.
