Walking Tall Posted September 15 Posted September 15 They have one of the worst owner’s in the league. Nobody will flourish under Woody Johnson. 2 Quote

Like, I get what you’re saying, but you kind of asked for it. I should have made it in the preseason, since it was clearly about Aaron Glenn the person and not the Jets vs Steelers; at least to anybody who actually read it instead of just making a preconceived assumption about it. That being said, those reactions would have been exactly the same from the same people, regardless of when I made it. And I don't exactly feel dunked on; it seems more like a loud, sweaty dumb guy bounced in a lay-up at the wrong end of the floor while I was out in the hall at the water fountain. 🤷♂️ 1 Quote
Breakout Squad Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Glenn looked out of his element out there. And the hoodie when it’s 80 degrees and sunny was not a good choice. He looked like he was drinking milk in San Diego. 1 Quote
Mikie2times Posted September 15 Posted September 15 (edited) I think what will hurt Glenn schematically is the man dependence. It’s how he likes to play and Allen has gone next level against primary man teams like the Jaguars or Lions last year. It really opens his running when everybody running with a WR Edited September 15 by Mikie2times 1 1 Quote

I was at the game and it was impressive how fast they ran stuff down, but when they have to drop and cover and face the other direction, the run lanes gape 1 1 Quote

I have a hard time believing this sort of stuff about older defensive HCs in general. Combine that with the constant puke factory that is the AFC New Jersey squad and I just don’t think anyone but a generational QB talent in the draft is going to “turn it around.” Quote

He was a fake tough guy and that nonsense wears on people, especially when you're losing. Agreed on Saleh, but I just don't see that kind of loudmouth asshat quality in Glenn. 1 Quote
BananaB Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Never thought the Lions defense was any good under Glenn, not sure why he was even considered a HC candidate. Jmo. Must of had a great interview. 1 Quote
Matt_In_NH Posted September 15 Posted September 15 I thought Glenn sucked yesterday. If I was a Jets fan I could have predicted a loss to the Bills but they looked disinterested and Glenn was terrible with tactical decisions. Coming from the lions I expected more in terms of going for it on 4th but he looked like a coach out of the 90s. Quote

I thought that Rob Johnson was going to be a great quarterback, and that cutting Pat Williams for cap reasons wasn't that bad of a move. 1 Quote

MikePJ76 Posted September 15 Posted September 15 I still like Aaron Glenn. I think he is a good coach. Going to take time to change one of the worst cultures in the league. i think the bigger takeaway is maybe the Steelers are not as good as the roster says they should be on paper. 1 Quote

Bob in STL Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Glenn coached scared yesterday. Maybe he will get better but that was a poor coaching job on Sunday. The Bills coasted in a place that is has been hard to win in. Quote

You’ve also undermined you’re own credibility by exposing that you were outlasted by a loud sweaty dumb guy who played on while you needed a water break. Also, bring a bottle; those schools have lead pipes. 1 Quote

I feel confident he ends up a good head coach. all those guys that were around Parcells in New York and/or Dallas have been successful. fixing the jets has been a challenge to any one willing to try since 1969. Parcells had them among the leagues best in 98 and then lost their qb in 99. Rex Ryan somehow made a championship game there. if Glenn has to try and rebuild with fields it may never happen. I thought they had a shot to have a Dallas 2003 type season when they made the playoffs with Quincy Carter a good defense and a tremendous staff. I just don’t think the jets are as talented as that team. 1 1 Quote
